The UNLV men’s basketball team, which has won two straight games, will continue its season-opening seven-game homestand on Tuesday, Nov. 20 vs. Pacific at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The Runnin’ Rebels beat UC Riverside, 72-51, last Tuesday for their first victory of the season, then defeated Oakland, 74-61, on Friday night. The Golden Grizzlies had been averaging 81.5 points per game heading into the contest and UNLV held them to 20 points under their average.
The new Rebellion Student Lounge will be open Tuesday for current UNLV students starting at 4 p.m. It features free food, drinks and popcorn, TVs with live sporting events, and video game stations.

The 2018-19 season marks the third under head coach Marvin Menzies for the Runnin’ Rebels. UNLV returns seven student-athletes who saw action last season, which is the most for the program from the previous season in seven years. This year’s team adds two transfer redshirts and six freshmen. Last year, UNLV won 20 games for the first time in four years. It also marked a nine-game improvement in the win column from the previous season.
The Runnin’ Rebels (2-1) have been led by senior forward Shakur Juiston, who is averaging 12.0 ppg and 7.7 rpg. Senior guard Noah Robotham leads in assists (3.3 apg), while sophomore forward Mbacke Diong is the blocks leader (3.3 bpg).
Pacific (3-1) has opened the season with wins at SIUE (74-65), vs. Stanislaus State (91-66) and at Idaho State (83-76). The Tigers’ lone loss came at UNR (83-61). Pacific comes to Las Vegas having won two straight games.
Tuesday’s game will be televised by AT&T SportsNet with Drew Goodman and Dave Bollwinkel calling the action. Jon Sandler, former Runnin’ Rebel Robert Smith, and Steve Cofield (sideline reporter) will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM and online via the UNLV Gameday App and TuneIn (link at UNLVRebels.com).
