THE FORUM SHOPS SEARCHES FOR LAS VEGAS’ BEST NEW DESIGNER: This year, The Forum Shops at Caesars promises to make Fashion’s Night Out special for one lucky aspiring fashion designer from Southern Nevada. In conjunction with the yearly event taking place on September 8, 2011, The Forum Shops at Caesars is currently searching to discover what could become tomorrow’s next big fashion icon. Partnering with The Art Institute of Las Vegas, interested designers from Southern Nevada can apply exclusively at The Forum Shops Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/ForumShops.
The application allows for budding designers to share their story, as well as upload a video and/or photos which they can use to vie for the top spot. Whether designing couture or denim, sportswear or retro-tees, all designers are encouraged to apply (rules and criteria will be available on application).
Recognized worldwide as one of the finest luxury shopping streets in the world, The Forum Shops at Caesars, is participating in this year’s global celebration of shopping with Fashion’s Night Out festivities on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. The stage is set for a night full of excitement, amazing fashion shows, one-of-a-kind in store events, product demonstrations, parties, giveaways, food, Las Vegas celebrities and entertainers – all at Las Vegas’ premiere retail destination, The Forum Shops.
The winner, along with select runners-up will be featured in an exciting fashion show and have their work highlighted inside the world-renowned shopping destination (which is home to the most famous brands in the world). The top designer will receive a $500 shopping spree to The Forum Shop at Caesars. The Forum Shops will also provide The Art Institute of Las Vegas with a $2,000 scholarship which will be dedicated to assist an aspiring designer.

JOHN VARVATOS TO SERVE AS CELEBRITY MENTOR ON NBC’S NEW REALITY COMPETITION SERIES “FASHION STAR”: Renowned American menswear designer John Varvatos is set to serve as a celebrity mentor on the highly-anticipated new reality competition series “Fashion Star.” The new NBC competition series will search for the next big brand in fashion. Varvatos joins newly-announced mentor; actress, author Nicole Richie, previously announced celebrity mentor Jessica Simpson and host Elle Macpherson. The series is designed not only to groom and discover America’s next popular brand, but through an exciting new format twist, it will allow viewers at home to buy the winning designs each week. The show will target real-time consumer feedback and interactivity and will span all categories of fashion from suits and dresses to lingerie, denim, bathing suits, accessories and more. One of the most well-known menswear fashion designers in the country, Varvatos will bring his trendsetting design skills and expertise to the contestants each week on NBC.
NIKE “KICKS OFF” NEW CONCEPT STORE INSIDE THE FORUM SHOPS: A parade of drummers, cheerleaders and nearly 200 local youth were on hand recently to join Nike for a Blitz The Strip grand reopening event. The procession kicked off on the famous Strip and made its way through the premiere retail destination before arriving at the new Nike store concept inside The Forum Shops at Caesars. The freshly revamped 30,000 square foot location offers the largest multi-category brand experience in the U.S. with innovative consumer experiences, market tailored product offerings, community resources and the introduction of team customization services. The store is only the fifth of its kind to open in the U.S. For the grand opening celebration, consumers also participated in the Redzone 360 Experience featuring NIKEiD, which provided the opportunity to star in a signature sport animation. After designing their own unique shoe on NIKEiD, consumers got the chance to style up like a pro and try out Nike footwear for their own personal touchdown highlight video shot in 360 degrees on a turf set up outside the store entrance.
