SLAUGHTER, VIXEN AND STEELHEART TO ROCK DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS EVENTS CENTER, OCTOBER 2

Downtown Las Vegas will be rocked as legendary bands Slaughter, Vixen and Steelheart take over the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, Friday, October 2.

Pre-sale tickets will be exclusively available to locals on Wednesday, August 12 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, August 14 at 10 a.m. Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com.

Spanning more than two decades of rock n’ roll, Las Vegas locals Slaughter reached stardom in 1990 with their first album Stick It to Ya, which spawned several hit singles including “Up All Night,” “Spend My Life,” “Mad About You” and “Fly to the Angels.” The album reached double platinum status in the United States. The band remains a steady act in national tours and consists of original members Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum, as well as Zoltan Chaney and Jeff “Blando” Bland.

Vixen was founded in St. Paul, Minnesota by guitarist Jan Kuehnemund. Throughout the band’s storied career, Vixen was the only all-female hard rock back from the 80s to sell more than a million albums, have six #1 videos on MTV and secure four songs on Billboard’s Top 100. Before announcing their much-awaited reunion in 2012, Kuehemund was diagnosed with cancer. After tragically losing her battle in 2013, the group kept the legacy alive and is survived by Janet Gardner, Roxy Petrucci, Share Pedersen and Gina Stile.

Steelheart is a band fronted by Miljenko Matijevic. Matjievic’s powerful voice and multi-octave range has become the heart and soul of the group. Although they began as a hair/metal band in the early 90s, Matijevic recently reformed the band and turned it away from the glam scene. Steelheart’s new sound is modern and edgy while still retaining overtones of Matijevic’s roots. Writing and producing, Matijevic has fused his past, present and the future together to create an undeniable piece of art.
