SOLD-OUT MOB MUSEUM EVENT COMMEMORATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF
“CASINO” WITH NICHOLAS PILEGGI, OSCAR GOODMAN

The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, presented “The 25th Anniversary of ‘Casino’: Looking Back at the Mob Movie Classic with Nicholas Pileggi and Oscar Goodman” on Thursday, Nov. 19; photos are available at the link above.

The 1995 film consistently ranks among the greatest Mob movies of all time. Its fictional depictions of true events in Las Vegas in the 1970s and ’80s evoke nostalgic memories for longtime locals and impassioned debate among history buffs.

Twenty-five years after its release, screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi and former Mob defense attorney Oscar Goodman discussed the making of “Casino” and its impact on Las Vegas. Guests had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ask individuals who worked on the set of the landmark movie any questions they have.

In addition, a temporary exhibit is on display at the Museum featuring artifacts, memorabilia and rare photographs from the iconic film. Guests have the opportunity to see an array of movie props linked to the Tangiers hotel-casino—the fictional stand-in for the real-life Stardust on the Las Vegas Strip–as well as an original movie script donated by Frank Cullotta, never-before-publicized images from the set contributed by former Mob defense attorney and City of Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman and much more.
