The Springs Preserve is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Hours may vary for classes and special events. The Springs Preserve is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The Nevada State Museum is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The Springs Café is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

 

SPECIAL EVENTS

 

Jump! The Ultimate Dog Show

Saturdays and Sundays, through Feb. 12

11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

A non-stop, action-packed showcase of canine tricks and talents, Jump! The Ultimate Dog Show returns to the Springs Preserve. Filled with exciting head-to-head competitions including speed agility, weave pole racing, frisbee tricks, dock diving and novelty stunts, Jump! is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

 

Tule Springs Fossil Exhibit

Through April 2

Apparitions of the Ice Age Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument is on the northern boundary of Las Vegas and has one of the largest caches of Ice Age fossils in North America, as well as stunning views of the desert landscape. Discover fossils uncovered at Tule Springs and learn about life in the Las Vegas Valley 55,000 to 14,000 years ago in paintings by renowned natural history illustrator Dr. Julius Csotonyi.

 

Scholastic Arts & Writing Exhibit

Jan. 28-March 27

Tour an exhibition of art and writing created by Southern Nevada’s talented youth. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teenagers across America and one of the largest sources of scholarships for young artists and writers in grades 7-12. This year marks the programs 100th year.

 

Black History Month Festival

Saturday, Feb. 18

10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Commemorating the tremendous contributions of African Americans to Southern Nevada’s rich history and culture, this large, family-friendly festival celebrates Black History through educational activities, live music and dance performances, arts and crafts, historic photo exhibits, and delicious, authentic African-American cuisine. This year’s theme is “Black Resistance.” Special event tickets required.

 

All About Plants Event and Classes

Saturday, April 1

Celebrate Earth Day all month long. Improve the shade of your green thumb with classes on proper plant care at Springs Preserve. From container gardening to pruning tips, you’ll learn how to care for plants in the Mojave Desert. Make it a day and browse a variety of desert-adapted plants for sale. Register for classes at springspreserve.org.

 

Butterfly Habitat

April 1 – May 29

10 a.m.-3 p.m. (last entry at 2:45 pm)

Wander through our unique Butterfly Habitat and witness the fascinating dance between free-flying butterflies, the plants that sustain them, and their important role as pollinators in the ecosystem. Dates for this seasonal attraction may vary depending on weather. Check the Springs Preserve website for updates. Free with general admission or Springs Preserve membership.

 

Trails Clean-up Volunteer Event

Saturday, April 8

7:30-10 a.m.

Celebrate Earth Day all month long. Roll-up your sleeves and help restore the natural beauty of the Springs Preserve’s trail system. A great way to volunteer and celebrate Earth Month. Must be 14 years or older to volunteer.

 

Meet the Experts Classes

Saturday, April 15

Celebrate Earth Day all month long. Take classes from some of the valley’s top irrigation and landscape-conversion experts. Visit springspreserve.org for class times and registration.

 

Sayaka Ganz Art Exhibit

April 15-June 11

Explore fascinating art of Sayaka Ganz in “Reclaimed Creations” an art exhibition that harnesses the energy and harmony of discarded items and creates a message of hope. Using reclaimed metal and plastic objects, Sayaka’s recent sculptures depict animals in motion with rich colors and energy. She describes her style as “3D impressionism”, creating an illusion of form using plastic objects as brush strokes that become visible upon observation from close proximity. Free with general admission or Springs Preserve membership.

 

Earth Day Celebration

Saturday, April 22

10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Celebrate Earth Day at the Springs Preserve, where Every Day is Earth Day! Join us as we celebrate Earth Day and encourage our community to take action for a sustainable future. Bring the whole family for a fun and education filled. Check out our conservation-focused exhibits and attractions, visit with environmental and green industry exhibitors, participate in eco-friendly craft activities, and explore the Springs Preserve—a living example of sustainable living, design and architecture. Non-members: Adult (18+) $9.95, Child (3-17) $4.95. Free admission for all Springs Preserve members and children ages 2 and younger.

 

Celebrate Arbor Day & Save the Frogs Day

Saturday, April 29

Celebrate Earth Day all month long. Access the Springs Preserve mobile app and take a stroll through the Preserve’s natural trail system. Learn about the historical cottonwood grove and recreated ecosystem that houses the imperiled relict leopard frog.

 

Earth Matters Exhibition

May 15-Sept. 4

Earth Matters: Rethink the Future welcomes visitors to a place where they can explore our changing planet through a different lens, immerse themselves in incredible ecosystems, and learn how the smallest of actions can have a big impact on our natural world. Featuring thought-provoking and fully interactive exhibits, Earth Matters covers topical themes such as biodiversity, rising global temperatures, and carbon emissions across an informative journey that will inspire visitors to find new answers to big questions.

 

ON-GOING PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES

 

Toddler Time Kids’ Activity

Mondays, Thursday & Fridays

11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Bring your little ones to the Springs Preserve for kid-friendly fun with a new theme every week! Recommended for ages 5 and under. Free for members or with general admission.

 

Ride the Train

9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Jump aboard the Boomtown Express, a guided, narrated ride on our life-size locomotive. The train stops at Boomtown 1905, a recreated streetscape of early-1900s downtown Las Vegas. Free with admission or membership to the Springs Preserve. The train schedule is subject to change based on weather, road conditions and special event availability. Call 702-822-7700 or visit the Springs Preserve ticket office for the current schedule.

 

Crack A Geode Activity

10 a.m.-3p.m.

Choose it, smash it, keep it! Crack open your own geode and discover the treasure inside. Drop into the Sustainability Gallery. Last “crack” half hour prior to close. $5 Members, $6 + general admission for Non-Members.

 

Nature Badge Kids’ Education Program

10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Get ready to earn a Nature Badge through STEM exploration. Participants in the program can earn a badge on a new discipline each month, with topics ranging from archaeology to oceanography. There is a total of six badges to earn with a rotating, monthly topics. Swing by the Sustainability Gallery to start your adventure. Free for members or with general admission.

 

WaterWorks Museum

WaterWorks is an interactive, behind-the-scenes look at the inner-workings of water-resource treatment and delivery in Southern Nevada. Learn about the challenges and triumphs of the journey of water. The exhibit, located in the Charleston Heights Pumping Station, is presented by the Las Vegas Valley Water District, Southern Nevada Water Authority and Springs Preserve, in partnership with ONE DROP™, with contributions from the RBC Blue Water Project and Springs Preserve Foundation. Free for members or included with general admission.

 

Boomtown 1905 Experience

Step back in time with a visit to Boomtown 1905, a recreated early Las Vegas streetscape. Explore historical re-creations of the original train depot, Arizona Club, Majestic Theatre, First State Bank, Lincoln Hotel, and mercantile. Encounter interpretive, interactive exhibits and period décor to learn about early-1900s Las Vegas. Free for members or included with general admission.

 

SPRINGS CAFE

9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

All good things are better together, Bronze Café and Aspire Coffee House have teamed up to bring exceptional sammiches, salads, brunch, burgers, lattes, smoothies, and libations to Springs Cafe at the Springs Preserve. All made from fresh, healthy ingredients, menu items include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options.

Springs Preserve Admission

General Admission is $9.95 for adults, $4.95 for children 3-17, children 2 and under are free. General admission also includes access to the Nevada State Museum. Special event and class admission prices vary and can be found at springspreserve.org.

Springs Preserve Membership

Springs Preserve memberships are the perfect way to share the Springs Preserve with family and friends and are available online or at the Springs Preserve Ticketing Office. All memberships include year-round Springs Preserve and Nevada State Museum access, discounts for activities, select events, Springs Cafe and The Springs Preserve Gift Shop. Individual membership is $30, and a Value Family membership is $60 which includes two adults and up to six kids under 18. Donor memberships are also available.
