Country Thunder Receives Academy Of Country Music ‘Festival Of The Year’ Industry Award

Country Thunder will celebrate the win at 12th Annual ACM Honors™ Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium

The Academy of Country Music® has named Country Thunder West ‘Festival of the Year’ for the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards today. Industry Award, Studio Recording Award and the previously announced Special Award winners will be honored during the 12th ANNUAL ACM HONORS™, an evening dedicated to recognizing the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 53rd ACM Awards. ACM Honors will take place on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Tickets are available to the public at www.ticketmaster.com.

Dolly Parton to Appear on ACM Honors and 69th Primetime Emmy Awards

DOLLY PARTON TO APPEAR ON ACM HONORS AND 69TH PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS

Dolly’s New Children’s Album ‘I Believe In You’ Available for Pre-Order Sept. 15

Country music icon Dolly Parton will be all over television this weekend as pre-orders begin for her first children’s album I Believe In You, available here. Parton first appears on the ACM Honors on Friday, September 15 where she will accept the Gary Haber Lifting Lives Award before heading to the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 17.

Parents, fans and all those young at heart can be the first to get their hands on Parton’s new children’s album, I Believe In You, by placing a pre-order on or after September 15. Those who pre-order will receive an instant download of the album’s first track “I Believe In You.” The album will feature 14 new songs, all written and performed by Dolly Parton with the spirit and heart of children in mind. Proceeds from the album will benefit Imagination Library, which was established in 1995 to honor Parton’s father, who never had the chance to learn to read or write.

A digital release of the new album on Dolly Records/RCA Nashville will be available September 29, and the physical album will be available worldwide October 13.

The Academy also announced that Jason Aldean, reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, will be honored with the Academy’s prestigious Triple Crown Award. This award is given to those who have won New Male/Female Vocalist of the Year, Male/Female Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. Aldean’s Entertainer of the Year win this year made him eligible for this honor, as he was previously honored with the New Male Vocalist of the Year (2005) and Male Vocalist of the Year (2012-2014). The Triple Crown Award has been awarded to only six artists, including: Brooks & Dunn (2005), Kenny Chesney (2005), Mickey Gilley (2005), Merle Haggard (2005), Barbara Mandrell (2005) and Carrie Underwood (2009).

The Academy of Country Music® announced today ten-time ACM Award-winning group, Lady Antebellum will host the 10TH ANNUAL ACM HONORS™, an evening dedicated to celebrating the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards. For the first time ever, ACM Honors will be produced for television by dick clark productions and broadcast at a later date on the CBS Television Network. The 10th Annual ACM Honors will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. ACM Honors performers and airdate for the primetime special will be announced in the coming weeks.

 

Honorees include Special Awards recipients Glen Campbell, Crystal Gayle, Eddie Rabbitt (awarded posthumously), Tanya Tucker, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Jeff Walker (awarded posthumously), Jimmy Webb, Little Big Town and The Statler Brothers. Studio Recording Awards recipients include Jim ‘Moose’ Brown, Dave Cobb, Shannon Forrest, Paul Franklin, Justin Niebank, Danny Rader, Michael Rhodes and Derek Wells. This is Owen’s first time hosting the event and the fifth time the ceremony will be held at the Ryman Auditorium.
