Downtown Brew Festival, Motley Brews’ backyard beer celebration under the stars, has announced its brewery lineup for the seventh annual event, which will return to the Clark County Amphitheater on Saturday, Oct. 20. With a sell-out crowd last year, festival organizers anticipate a crowd of more than 4,000 attendees once again.

One of Las Vegas’ largest beer festivals, second to Motley Brews’ Great Vegas Festival of Beer, Downtown Brew Festival will host more than 70 breweries this year with more than 250 craft beers on tap. Local participating breweries include: PT’s Brewing Company, CraftHaus Brewery, Joseph James Brewing Company, Lovelady Brewing, Ellis Island Casino & Brewery, Big Dog’s Brewing Company, Banger Brewing and Tenaya Creek.

 

Out-of-state brewers will include: Lagunitas Brewing Company from Petaluma, Calif; Hop Valley Brewing from Eugene, Ore.; Bootlegger’s Brewery from Fullerton, Calif.; Squatters Pub Brewing and Wasatch Brewery from Salt Lake City; Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. from Chico, Calif; and more. VIP guests will enjoy access to the VIP Pavilion Lounge, offering exclusive beers and unique cuisine samplings by Chef Mike Minor, executive chef of Border Grill and BBQ Mexicana; and Chef Errol LeBlanc, Executive Chef of Pamplona Cocktails & Tapas.  Culinary offerings from Tacotarian, A Family Secret and others and will be available at Downtown Brew Festival’s “Festaurant Row” for all general admission and early entry attendees.

 

Tickets to Downtown Brew Festival start at $40 plus fees for general admission, which include access to the event from 5 to 9 p.m. along with a tasting glass, unlimited beer samples and more. Early admission tickets are also available, with entry at 4 p.m. and access to exclusive beers, priced at $50 plus fees. Pub 365, located inside Tuscany Suites & Casino, will hold a poolside beer festival on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.  Featuring breweries from Las Vegas and beyond, the brewfest will serve local favorites like Joseph James, Big Dog, Crafthaus, Banger Brewing, Tenaya Creek, Lovelady, Able Baker, Bad Beat, and Hop Nuts as well as Reno notables Imbib, Occidental, and Revision Brewing.

Cost of admission includes a souvenir tasting glass to enjoy all-you-can-drink craft beer, plus a limited-edition Crafthouse Firkin. Food will be available for purchase, as well as spirits from Nevada H&C Distilling Co., locally-brewed coffee, and more. 10 percent of ticket sales will support the mission of Three Square Food Bank.

This Year’s Theme: Carnival Sideshow

WHAT:
On Friday, Oct. 31, one of Las Vegas’ most popular Halloween events returns—this year with a gaggle of circus sideshow oddities in tow: The Neon Museum’s Boneyard Bash. Every attendee is strongly encouraged to come dressed in sideshow-inspired attire.

Guests will enjoy letting their freak flags fly in the Neon Museum Boneyard after dark, as well as live entertainment, appearances by the cast of Evil Dead, food trucks, FREE beer, wine and signature cocktail courtesy of Las Vegas Distillery, Banger Brewing, Big Dog’s Brewing Company, Joseph James Brewing Company, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and Tenaya Creek Brewery (while supplies last; cash bar also available). Food vendors include Senor Blues, Funnel Cake Café and birthday cupcakes by Freed’s Bakery.

Following the Boneyard Bash, ticket holders can head to Velveteen Rabbit for an after party, which will include a complimentary Halloween cocktail and free “spooky” makeup application by professional makeup artists.

Brewmasters and Chefs to Cure All Ales with Beer Events September 12-14


Mandalay Bay will host the resort’s first-ever BEER Weekend, a three-day beer extravaganza featuring special events and exclusive menus at Mandalay Bay Beach, Fleur by Hubert Keller, miX Restaurant and eyecandy sound lounge September 12-14. Created by Mandalay Bay Director of Food & Beverage and Nevada’s first female certified cicerone Sarah Johnson, the weekend line-up will tantalize taste buds of beer lovers everywhere.

The weekend festivities include a dinner at miX Restaurant with acclaimed brewmasters; a craft beer panel discussion at eyecandy sound lounge, led by Johnson; a high-energy beer festival at Mandalay Bay Beach featuring the country’s best beers along with cuisine by Vegas’ award-winning chefs Hubert Keller, Michael Mina, Alain Ducasse, Shawn McClain, Matthias Merges and more; and an exclusive beer brunch at Fleur by Hubert Keller.

Brewmasters’ Dinner, miX Restaurant – 7:30 p.m.
Hosted by Johnson, Matt Brynildson of Firestone Walker and Garrett Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery, this intimate dinner will kick off the weekend. A five-course menu created by the talented culinary team at Alain Ducasse’s miX Restaurant will be served alongside Firestone Walker and Brooklyn Brewery beers. Each beer will be presented by the brewers as they discuss the detailed notes of each selection along with the reasoning behind the pairing. Tickets priced at $225 per-person, all-inclusive, can be purchased on Mandalay Bay’s Beer site.

The Craft Beer Revolution Panel Discussion, eyecandy sound lounge – 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.
The festivities will continue with a panel discussion on all things craft beer, hosted by Johnson, and featuring Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy. Following the event, a book signing of Hindy’s The Craft Beer Revolution will be held inside the lounge. Books will be available for purchase for $20 all-inclusive. Entrance to the event is free and seating is limited to the first 100 attendees.

BEER Festival, Mandalay Bay Beach – 7:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
The main event at Mandalay Bay Beach will offer lively entertainment, great brews and scrumptious food selections as participating breweries and restaurants showcase their talents. Guests are invited to sample a variety of the country’s best beers along with award-winning cuisine by MGM Resorts International’s top chefs. Tickets are priced at $75 per-person, all-inclusive, and can be purchased on Mandalay Bay’s Beer site.
