Everyone’s favorite baker, Buddy “Cake Boss” Valastro, invites you to surrender to the sweet side of life when he hosts ‘Sweet Escape: An Evening of Buddy, Beignets, Bonbons & Booze,’ part of Vegas Uncork’d by Bon Appetit at The Aquatic Club at The Palazzo.

Valastro will serve up beignets and bonbons from Buddy V’s Ristorante along with more decadent delights from Bouchon, Carnevino, Chica, Hong Kong Café, Lagasse’s Stadium, LAVO, Mercato della Pescheria, SushiSamba, and TAO restaurants at The Venetian and The Palazzo.

The poolside soiree will also include an exciting live band, delicious specialty cocktails and a special appearance by Chef Lorena Garcia of Chica, set to open on May 14 in Restaurant Row at The Venetian.

Bouchon is the vision of world-renowned chef Thomas Keller, who was named “America’s Best Chef” by Time magazine. Drawn from Chef Keller’s memories of traveling through France, Bouchon serves an award-winning menu of bistro classics and daily specials, featuring the best seasonal products available.

Brunch favorites: Beignet du jour (spiced doughnuts and housemade jam), Petit Dejeuner Americaine (two eggs any style served with bacon, country sausage, toasted brioche, pastry, fresh juice and Bouchon blend coffee), Poulet et des Gaufres (roasted chicken with bacon-chive waffle, Tahitian vanilla bean butter and sauce Chasseur).

Buddy Valastro, of TLC’s Cake Boss, has brought his first restaurant to Las Vegas at The Venetian. Buddy V’s Ristorante is inspired by Valastro’s family gatherings and features recipes passed down from his mother, grandmother and aunts, and offers twists on Italian-American favorites. “Buddy’s Family Brunch” features interactive food stations and a special selection of favorites just for the kids.

Brunch favorites: Pannettone French toast, maple-glazed ham, Sunday-style eggs, grandma’s meatballs and bottomless sangria and bloody marys.

Carrera merges classic steakhouse with unique culinary aspects, including an iced seafood bar, a cheese and charcuterie bar with more than 60 farmhouse and artisanal cheeses from around the world along with handmade salamis and meats,complemented by a more than 60 wines-by-the-glass and more than 400 varieties of French and California wine-by-the-bottle.

The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas are celebrating Italy’s birthday today, March 17, with a special Italian gondola cake courtesy of Carlo’s Bakery.  The famous bake shop is also celebrating its one-year anniversary at The Venetian Las Vegas this month.

The whimsical cake pays tribute to the romantic  Italian gondoliers of Venice, as well as the gondolas that  can be found winding throughout the landmark Las Vegas resort, including The Venetian’s Doge’s  Palace entrance and the Grand Canal Shoppes.

Italy was unified on March 17, 1861, and this date consequently marks the “birthday” of the nation we know today.

 

Carlo’s Bakery, setting of the TLC show “Cake Boss,” opened its  very first store west of the Mississippi River on March 31, 2014 at The Venetian Las Vegas.  Fan favorites at the bake shop include Buddy’s Cannoli, Lobster Tail pastry, Italian cookies and of course, his famous cakes. This weekend celebrity Chefs Daniel Boulud, Emeril Lagasse, and Buddy “Cake Boss” Valastro hosted Ultimo-A Weekend of Excellence at The Venetian Las Vegas. This luxurious weekend kicked off with the spectacular Grand Banquet in the iconic Grand Colonnade featuring a single breathtaking table that hosted nearly 200 guests. Celebrity Chefs Daniel Boulud and Emeril Lagasse prepared a decadent dinner fit for royalty that ended with a magnificent ten-story cake from Buddy “Cake Boss” Valastro. The evening also featured a live auction benefiting the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. World renowned pianist, Danny Wright (Billboard Magazine’s Top 10 artist), Sisaundra Lewis(season six contestant of NBC’s The Voice) and Venetian headliners Human Nature entertained guests throughout the evening while Robin Leach acted as the evenings emcee.  The celebrity chef hosts mixed and mingle with the crowd as top winemakers from all around the world completed the dinner with the perfect wine pairing.

On Saturday morning guests were treated to a selection of luxury experiences starting with a fabulous French brunch hosted by Chef Daniel Boulud at his new restaurant db Brasserie, where guests enjoyed French-American classics and bubbly . Following brunch, guests participated in a private baking class from The Cake Boss himself at Buddy V’s Ristorante, a race car experience at Exotic Racing where guests drove the latest luxury sports cars at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, relaxed at the gorgeous Canyon Ranch Spa Club, and enjoyed an exclusive fashion show and experience.

Ultimo continued into the night, with an intimate Dine Around experience in the Palazzo Waterfall Atriums & Gardens where guests sampled dishes from The Venetian’s collection of gourmet restaurants including Carnevino, Buddy V’s Ristorante, CUT, Bouchon, Delmonico’s Steakhouse, and db Brasserie. Celebrity chefs Daniel Boulud and Buddy Valastro were on hand at the event making sure guests enjoyed their food and experience. Guests were going back for thirds of Buddy Valastro’s lasagna, and Bouchon’s braised short ribs. The evening concluded with an exclusive after party in the special Richard Hennessy lounge inside The Venetian’s high-roller Paiza Club where guests sipped on Hennessy infused cocktails and desserts, while listening to a presentation from a Hennessy expert on the history of Cognac.

The weekend wrapped with an exceptional Truffle Farewell hosted by Emeril Lagasse at his award-winning Delmonico Steakhouse. Over 25 lbs. of truffles were brought in for this brunch, and paired with premium beef and farm fresh eggs. Guests were seen laughing and chatting with their new friends that they had made over the extraordinary Ultimo weekend.

Sighting: Hakkasan Las Vegas Nightclub Welcomes World-Renowned Chef Gordon Ramsay and “Cake Boss” Star Buddy Valastro – Thursday, May 8

Last night (Thursday, May 8), world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay and “Cake Boss” star Buddy Valastro enjoyed a night out at Hakkasan Las Vegas Nightclub at MGM Grand. In town for Vegas Uncork’d by Bon Appétit, the charismatic duo made their way to the nightlife mecca with a small group of friends and took a seat at a VIP booth located on the fifth level of the hot spot.  Both gentlemen fully enjoyed the energetic set by Hakkasan resident DJ Tiësto who had the entire complex on their feet with his crowd-pleasing hits. Appearing to be in high spirits, the duo sipped cocktails and were spotted mingling with their adoring fans as they stopped to pose for pictures throughout the evening before departing shortly after 3 a.m.

SMOKEY ROBINSON PRESENTS HUMAN NATURE: THE MOTOWN SHOW celebrated its 1,000th Las Vegas performance on Saturday, April 12, at The Venetian Las Vegas®. A special appearance was made by show presenter and Motown legend Smokey Robinson.

Smokey joined the four members of Human Nature on stage during the show and performed “Tracks of My Tears” with the group, a song originally co-written by Smokey Robinson.

John Caparella, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo & Sands Expo joined Human Nature and Smokey Robinson on stage and said, “Tonight we are celebrating the 1,000th show for Human Nature in Las Vegas, and I am here to encourage them to stay for another 1,000 shows.”

Adding to the celebration of the milestone, Carlo’s Bakery, the Cake Boss’ bakery that recently opened at Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Palazzo, created a special cake depicting Human Nature on stage with Smokey Robinson.

Having earned the title of #1 vocal group in Australia, Human Nature first came to Las Vegas in 2009 and quickly became one of the Las Vegas Strip’s favorite shows. The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas Get Cooking with a Star Studded La Cucina Italiana Festival

 

The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas’s 3rd Annual Winter in Venice kicked off a new culinary experience with the four-day La Cucina Italiana Food & Wine Festival.  Chef Mario Batali hosted the ultimate Italian celebration with the Grand Banquet. An extravagant table set for 200 guests took over the Grand Colonnade where they were presented an exquisite family-style feast pairing new- and old-world Italy.

 

The menu included veal Carpaccio, 24-month Galardi prosciutto, risotto with white truffle, and a porchetta created by Cecchini that Chef Batali referred to as “the porchetta to end all porchettas.”

 

“This format,” said Batali, “will conjure meals eaten in Italy, where banquets are spread out quite literally in the middle of a street. Though something you often find in a Tuscan or Umbrian village, it is a novelty in this country, especially in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.”

 

The four-day food event also included How To Italian. Guests were taught by some of the best Chef’s on property how to make some of their favorite dishes with 10 different demonstrations. Chef Mario Batali and Dario Cecchini taught tricks of the trade when it comes to preparing meat, while the Cake Boss Buddy Valastro showed how to make the perfect cake.
