Keep Memory Alive Hosts Second Annual Texas Hold ‘Em Charity Poker Tournament on Sept. 27 with Jack Binion

The evening of poker and philanthropy will support Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and its fight against brain disorders

Keep Memory Alive is raising the stakes for brain health during the second annual Texas Hold ‘Em Charity Poker Tournament on Friday, Sept. 27 at the Keep Memory Alive Event Center. Hosted by casino legend Jack Binion, proceeds from the tournament will support the work of Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and its fight against neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, ALS, and more.

Open to all players 21 and older from beginner to advanced skill levels, the tournament is a $500 initial buy-in, with a first-place prize of $10,000. Runners-up will score exclusive chef dinners, awe-inspiring trips, exquisite jewelry, and first-class wine. Last year, Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brunson, Daniel “Kid Poker” Negreanu, Barry Shulman, Jack McClelland, and Jon Taffer played alongside participants.

Guests will enjoy cuisine from Clique Hospitality venues, including Bottiglia, Borracha, Greene St. Kitchen, Hearthstone, and more, along with cocktails from Casa Dragones. Exciting silent auction packages will be up for bid, along with a roulette table and other entertainment.

General admission tickets are also available for $125 per person for those not wishing to participate in the tournament, but still wanting to go all-in for brain health and support Keep Memory Alive.

“Last year’s inaugural event was so much fun, we knew we had to bring it back this year,” said Camille Ruvo, Keep Memory Alive’s vice-chairwoman and co-founder.  Research suggests that mental fitness, including learning and honing a skill overtime is good for your brain, so players really are going all in for brain health.”

 On Saturday, April 28, 2018, some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry joined Keep Memory Alive to enjoy the musical stylings of world-renowned singer, Michael Bublé, at Keep Memory Alive’s 22nd annual Power of Love ® gala inside MGM Grand Garden Arena. The star-studded event raised funds and awareness for Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and its fight against brain disease including Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s diseases, multiple sclerosis and multiple system atrophy.

 

The acclaimed crooner delighted guests with favorites “Haven’t Met You Yet” and “Feeling Good.” Bublé finished his set with a smashing rendition of the Beach Boys hit, “God Only Knows.” Celebrities who showed their support included, actress Marcia Gay Harden; superstar DJ Steve Aoki; Planet Hollywood resident Pitbull; Bar Rescue host Jon Taffer; Mötley Crüe lead vocalist Vince Neil; songwriter and vocalist Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds; and reality star, Scheana Shay. Through Dec. 31, Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will broadcast a series of special holiday greetings from prominent Las Vegas personalities, headliners and show cast members on its LED screens at the heart of Las Vegas Boulevard.

 

Every half-hour from 10 a.m. to midnight, visitors walking along The Strip will be treated to a holiday surprise when they hear and see the unique greetings on the center’s two large LED screens. Adam Carolla, popular comedian, entrepreneur and host of the “The Adam Carolla Show,” is confirmed to deliver a keynote address, participate in the official ribbon cutting and air an episode of “The Adam Carolla Show” at the 2014 Nightclub & Bar Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas on Tuesday, March 25.
