Hailed as one of the “most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era” by former President Bill Clinton, the legendary rock and roll band with horns, Chicago, came in at #4, the highest charting American band in the chart’s history, in Billboard Magazine’s Top Bands And Duos. And Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six consecutive decades.

Chicago was inducted into the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This was their first nomination. They’ve been eligible since 1994. A long time coming!

Chicago’s first album, Chicago Transit Authority, was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame in 2014, and the band performed on the GRAMMY stage for the first time that year.

Robert Lamm and James Pankow have become inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017. These legendary songwriters wrote mega-hits such as, “25 or 6 to 4,” “Saturday In The Park,” “Feelin’ Stronger Every Day,” “Make Me Smile,” and many others.

Chicago will celebrate the holidays this year with a new Christmas album, CHICAGO CHRISTMAS, that spotlights the legendary group’s trademark sound on eight original songs, two yuletide favorites and one timeless classic that embraces the spirit of hope.

On October 4, 2019, CHICAGO CHRISTMAS was released on CD and through digital and streaming services. In addition, a black vinyl version of the album will be released to general retail, with limited-edition red and white vinyl versions exclusively available at Rhino.com. All vinyl versions will be available on November 22.

Produced by founding member Lee Loughnane, CHICAGO CHRISTMAS is the 37th album of the band’s career and its fourth holiday collection. Whereas its previous releases focused more on traditional Christmas songs, the new record spotlights holiday music the band wrote especially for the album, including “All Over The World,” “(Because) It’s Christmastime,” and “I’m Your Santa Claus.” The album also features R&B and ballad versions of “Merry Christmas, I Love You,” a song that Loughnane wrote with John Durrill of The Ventures, the best-selling instrumental band of all time.

More than 40 years after its debut, Chicago II still sounds like nothing else. Released in 1970, Chicago’s second album brims with confidence and inspiration as it draws on everything from orchestral music to heavy rock. It spawned a trio of Top Ten hits, and the timeless classic has been remastered to reveal unprecedented clarity and definition. For the first time a new stereo remix, created by British musician and producer Steven Wilson from the 16-track multi-track tapes, made it possible to bring out elements that were muffled or submerged in the mix. The result is a new stereo version of Chicago II that boasts clearness, punch and definition that it didn’t have before.  It has been released by Rhino Records on CD and vinyl. Chicago II is being considered for the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame.

CHICAGO’s award-winning documentary film, Now More Than Ever: The History Of Chicago premiered on CNN on New Year’s Day and ranked No. 1 among adults 25-54. This is per “Nielsen Fast National Time Period Based Data” for 1/1/17 from 8 PM -10 PM. The documentary film was originally shown at the Sedona International Film Festival in February 2016, and won the Film Festival’s Best of Fest Audience Choice Award. The band opened the festival with back-to-back sold-out performances.

Additionally, Now More Than Ever: The History of Chicago won three awards in April 2016, at the 10th Annual Fort Myers Beach Film Festival, taking home top prizes in the Documentary and Audience Award categories. Director Peter Pardini was awarded the festival’s Rising Star Award in direction and was on hand to accept all three awards. Earlier that month the documentary was the runner-up for Audience Award at the Sarasota Film Festival.

Chicago’s lifetime achievements include two GRAMMY Awards, two American Music Awards, Founding Artists of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a Chicago street dedicated in their honor, and keys to and proclamations from an impressive list of U.S. cities. Record sales top the 100,000,000 mark, and include 21 Top 10 singles, 5 consecutive Number One albums, 11 Number One singles and 5 Gold singles. An incredible 25 of their 36 albums have been certified platinum, and the band has a total of 47 gold and platinum awards.

Chicago have toured every year since the beginning – they’ve never missed a year.  The original three band members are Robert Lamm on keyboards and vocals, Lee Loughnane on trumpet and vocals and James Pankow on trombone. The band line-up also includes Wally Reyes, Jr. on drums, Keith Howland on guitar and vocals, Lou Pardini on keyboards and vocals, Ray Herrmann on sax and flute, Neil Donell on vocals, Brett Simons on bass and Ramon “Ray” Yslas on percussion.

For five years, Chicago raised over a quarter of a million dollars to fight breast cancer for the American Cancer Society by having a winning bidder come on stage and sing “If You Leave Me Now” in concert.  Chicago generously support other charitable causes, donating a portion of ticket sales to Kelly Cares, established by Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly and his wife Paqui, to support local, national and global organizations that strive to improve their communities in the areas of health and education.  Portions of ticket sales also benefit the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation, which seeks a cure for a fatal children’s disease, Niemann-Pick Type C. Chicago manager Peter Schivarelli, who played football for Coach Parseghian, is on Notre Dame’s Board Of Directors for their Athletic Commission.  Chicago has also associated with Hannah & Friends, an organization that serves children and adults with special needs. Hannah & Friends is the personal mission of Maura Weis and her husband, Charlie Weis, the former coach at the University of Kansas.

From the signature sound of the Chicago horns, their iconic Vocalists, and a few dozen of ever-Classic Songs, this band’s concerts are celebrations.  2019 marks the band’s 52nd consecutive year of touring, without missing a single concert date!

Chicago continue to be true ambassadors for their beloved hometown, carrying the city’s name with pride and dignity around the world.

“If Slayer does retire, there will never be a replacement, and there will never be anyone like them ever again.”
Phoenix New Times

On Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, Slayer – Tom Araya/bass and vocals, Kerry King/guitars, Gary Holt/guitars, and Paul Bostaph/ drums – will set off on The Final Campaign, the seventh and final leg of its farewell world tour.  This last hurrah will start at the Explore Asheville Arena in Asheville, NC, and see the band taking its goodbye bow at the Los Angeles Forum on Saturday, Nov. 30. Accompanying Slayer for this last ride are Primus, Ministry and Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals performing A Vulgar Display of Pantera, who will support on all dates. The tour will make a Las Vegas stop at MGM Grand Garden Arena Wednesday, Nov. 27. The show is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Tickets ranging in price from $49.50 to $79.50 go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. PT at axs.com. Slayer’s Final World Tour began on May 10, 2018 with the band’s intention to play as many places as possible, to make it easy for the fans to see one last Slayer show and say goodbye. By the time the 18-month trek wraps on November 30, the band will have completed seven tour legs plus a series of one-off major summer festivals, performing more than 140 shows in 30 countries and 40 U.S. states.

Slayer’s Final World Tour has been a wild ride. Three bus drivers, four truck drivers, and a crew of 32 have traveled all over the world to set the stage for this farewell. At most shows, Slayer’s pyro expert set off 160 pounds of propane and 10 liters of 99% isopropyl alcohol, prompting the Phoenix New Times reviewer to comment on the “eyebrow-singeing pyrotechnics that could be felt even 10 rows behind the pit.” In Toronto, one diehard fan was ejected from the concert before Slayer took the stage, so jumped into Lake Ontario (that surrounds the Budweiser Arena) and swam back to the venue. The Tampa Bay Times’ Jay Cridlin wrote, “Beginning with the throttling opener ‘Repentless,’ Slayer tore through their set like a flaming cigarette boat across the river Styx, charring up a vicious circle pit by the stage,” and Detroit’s Gary Graff noted in his Oakland Press review the “10,000 headbangers who skipped the ‘Game of Thrones’ finale to pay homage to the pioneering quartet.” “The sheer physicality of their show was something to behold and was yet another indication that while the band may be calling it a career, they are going out on top, playing at their absolute best,” wrote Andy Lindquist for the SF Sonic, and Guy D’Astolfo with the Youngtown Vindicator ended his review with this: “After the final note, Tom Araya stood alone, scanning the crowd…forging a mental imprint of the moment. After a minute or two, he went to the microphone and said, ‘I’m going to miss you guys.’ Then he exited and the lights wentup.”

Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World Bring 2019 Summer Gods Tour to The Pearl Aug. 2

Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World Bring 2019 Summer Gods Tour
with Ra Ra Riot to The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort

Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 at 8 p.m.

Tickets on sale – Friday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m.

Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World bring 2019 Summer Gods Tour with Ra Ra Riot to the intimate Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort on Friday, Aug. 2, 2019. Tickets start at $54.95, a portion of each sale will be donated to offset the tour’s carbon dioxide footprint.

“The most scintillating, inspiring collective moments of my life have been outdoors in the summer exploding with music,” says Third Eye Blind frontman, Stephan Jenkins. “Those sensations travel from when I was a little kid and rock music was brand new to our last Summer Gods tour, when everything is magically new again. I seek to create that exact blissed-out state of aliveness on tour this summer.”

Third Eye Blind has announced the 30-city Summer Gods Tour, produced by Live Nation, together with Jimmy Eat World. Ra Ra Riot will join on all shows as tour opener. Touring in the summer “feels like more of a festival thing, because Third Eye Blind takes a lot of time in picking out the bands to play with us,” Jenkins tells iHeartRadio’s on-air personality, Andrew Harms, in an exclusive interview that ran earlier this morning across iHeartMedia’s network of Alternative stations.

“We couldn’t be more excited to spend our 25th summer as a band touring the country of our birth to play music for our American fans!” says Jimmy Eat World, in a statement. “Thanks to Third Eye Blind for inviting us to be a part of this amazing tour. We can’t wait to hang out with our fans as well as making some new friends!”

To ensure tickets get in to the hands of fans and not scalpers or bots, the tour has partnered with Ticketmaster’s Verified FanÒ platform. Fans can register now through Monday, Jan. 28 at 10 p.m. PT HERE for the Verified Fan presale. Registered fans who receive a code will have access to purchase tickets before the general public on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. local time through Thursday, Jan. 31 at 10 p.m. local time.

Citi is the official presale credit card for the tour. As such, Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning Wednesday, Jan. 30 at noon local time until Thursday, Jan. 31 at 10 p.m. local time through Citi’s Private Pass program. For complete presale details visit www.citiprivatepass.com.

Following rare club dates in LA and NYC to try out new music, Third Eye Blind is now back in studio working on the follow up to Dopamine (2015) and  2018’s, Thanks for Everything, an EP of songs they love, with proceeds benefiting the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.

Watch Third Eye Blind’s version of Bon Iver’s “Blood Bank” here, get updates on Jimmy Eat World here and hear Ra Ra Riot’s latest track “This Time of the Year,” from their forthcoming 2019 LP.

Third Eye Blind has been touring greener every year. Because the oceans need our help, the band and crew have been free of water bottles since 2017. This year, to offset the tour’s carbon footprint, Third Eye Blind will be voluntarily investing in a carbon offset project in Alaska managed by ClimeCoThe American Land Conservancy, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.  Additionally, to offset audience travel – the biggest source of carbon emissions from the tour – a portion of each ticket sold will support a US-based ClimeCo carbon offset project.  (Calculate your own carbon footprint here.)

“Music and surfing are all foundational in my life and the longer I go, the more so it is not a big step to seek to make our tours ocean friendly,” adds Jenkins.  “Simple – skip single use plastic, carbon offsets and encourage other along the way.”

This Alaska-based offset project is the first of its kind in the region. It supports conservation work on Afognak Island which is home to a coastal temperate rainforest with old-growth trees that are between 180 and 250 years old, plus a regrowth of new trees from the past 30 years. Together, these new and old forests create the potential for absorbing millions of tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Tickets for Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World are $54.95, $69.95, $89.95, $119.95 and $179.95, plus applicable fees and go on sale Friday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. and guests under 21 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased at the Pearl Concert Theater box office, any Station Casinos Rewards Center or online at Ticketmaster.com. Playboi Carti at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, July 29

PLAYBOI CARTI

SUNDAY, JULY 29 AT 8 P.M.

Tickets on sale NOW at www.ticketmaster.com

Breakout hip-hop artist, Playboi Carti, announced today a North American summer tour following the surprise release of his new album, Die Lit. The Atlanta-born rapper will perform at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas on Sunday, July 29 at 8 p.m.

Tickets start at $39.50 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale now at the Hard Rock Hotel box office or online at ticketmaster.com. For VIP ticket packages including premium seating options, please contact jointvip@hrhvegas.com. For groups of 12 or more, please call 702.693.4017 or contact darnson@hrhvegas.com.

Just a few years after edging into Atlanta’s hip-hop underground, Playboi Carti released his highly anticipated debut self-titled debut on April 14, 2017. The tape debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200. His first release for Interscope Records and AWGE, Playboi Carti features “Magnolia” and “wokeuplikethis*”— two chart-busting singles that embody the 22-year-old rapper’s deeply experimental but hook-heavy sound. Both tracks featured on the Billboard 100 (“Magnolia” peaked at No. 8) and appeared on Spotify’s RapCaviar playlist, accolades that affirmed Playboi Carti’s position as one of today’s biggest quick-rising hip-hop artists. Playboi Carti has also won recognition within the fashion world, landing features in Vogue, GQ and W Magazine. He played to sold out crowds last summer on his debut headlining world tour, including festival appearances at Rolling Loud, Coachella (alongside Lil Uzi Vert and Gucci Mane) and the Forbes 30 Under 30 festival where he was selected as the 2017 Music Callout.

Playboi Carti released his first album Die Lit as a surprise release on May 11, 2018 via AWGE/Interscope Records. Die Lit debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and amassed over 60,000 in consumption units in its first week with over 82.1 million streams, more than double the first week streams of his 2017 self-titled debut. The album garnered a great deal of critical acclaim, earning an 8.5 score and Best New Music nod from Pitchfork, who lauded it as a “57-minute sugar high that’s even wilder, more disorienting, and more perversely infectious than its predecessor.” SPIN has praised the album for “broadcast[ing] a refreshing and well-developed aesthetic – one that feels like Carti’s specific achievement.” Meanwhile, Stereogum has hailed Die Lit as “a strange, exciting, physical record…It bursts with ideas and with personality, and it sets itself immediately apart.” A week following the release, Carti made a surprise appearance on the season finale of “Saturday Night Live,” joining musical guest Nicki Minaj for a performance of “Poke It Out.” Nicki Minaj is featured on “Poke It Out,” a track included on Die Lit.

ABOUT THE SMITH CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

About Bruno Mars:
Bruno Mars is a 21-time GRAMMY Award nominee and multi-GRAMMY winner. The celebrated singer, songwriter, producer, musician has sold over 180 million singles worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. His most recent critically acclaimed and RIAA certified 2x platinum album, “24K Magic,” made an impressive debut atop the Top Digital Albums and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, while also remaining in the Top 10 for 33 consecutive weeks. Additionally, the album and its lead single, “24K Magic,” simultaneously hit No. 1 on the iTunes Overall Albums and Overall Songs charts week of release. The single has since climbed to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has also officially been certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA. Mars’ 4x platinum certified single, “That’s What I Like,” recently climbed to #1 on the Hot 100, marking his seventh Hot 100 chart-topper and his first #1 on the Hot R&B Songs chart, where it remained at the top-spot for 19 consecutive weeks. Mars is the first artist to have two songs spend 24 or more weeks in the Hot 100’s top 5 (“That’s What I Like” and “Uptown Funk”). Additionally, Bruno is now the only artist in the last year to have two quadruple-platinum singles from the same album. Bruno is also one of the few artists to have written and produced each of his No. 1 hits and has had a No. 1 song on the Hot 100 from each of his first three studio albums. With seven Hot 100 #1s, Mars is now tied with Elvis Presley, Phil Collins, and Frankie Valli for the seventh most chart-toppers among male soloists, and is also ranked #1 amongst male artists with the most Hot 100 No.1s for this decade; extending his lead over Justin Bieber, Drake, Eminem, and The Weeknd. What’s more, Bruno recently took home two BET Awards this past June, including the coveted Best Male R&B/Pop Artist award. To celebrate his latest album, Mars has been traveling the globe on his massive “24K Magic World Tour”, which sold over 1 million tickets in a single day. In 2015, Bruno dominated charts with hit single “Uptown Funk.” The worldwide smash is the longest-leading Billboard Hot 100 single of the 2010s, and is only the 10th single in the Hot 100’s 57-year history to spend at least 14 weeks at Number 1. “Uptown Funk” took home 3 GRAMMY Awards this past year, including the coveted Record of the Year award. Last February, Mars returned to the Super Bowl Halftime stage to perform alongside Beyoncé and Coldplay at the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show. In 2014, Mars made NFL history with the second most watched Super Bowl Halftime Show, which saw a record-breaking total viewership of over 115.3 million, all while being the youngest artist ever to serve as the sole NFL Super Bowl Halftime headliner. The performance gained him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program.  According to Billboard, Bruno Mars scored his first five Hot 100 No. 1s faster than any male since Elvis Presley.  As a singer, songwriter and producer, Bruno Mars has an impressive catalog of 37 Hot 100 hits.
