Members Will Now Have Access to Offers, Benefits and Rewards at MGM Resorts Destinations Across U.S.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, part of MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM), announced today that it will be launching the Company’s award-winning M life Rewards loyalty program, presenting members with personalized offers, exclusive benefits and special access across MGM Resorts’ unrivaled portfolio. Beginning Wednesday, June 7, M life Rewards will supplant My Borgata Rewards loyalty program, allowing guests to play and earn at their favorite MGM Resorts destinations including Bellagio, ARIA, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay and The Mirage in Las Vegas as well as resorts in Detroit, Mississippi and Maryland.

Borgata will adopt M life Rewards’ five member tiers – Sapphire, Pearl, Gold, Platinum and the premium, invitation-only NOIR. New members can sign up for free, starting at Sapphire. All current card level access will remain intact, while new benefits such as personalized offers, complimentary parking for Pearl and above, and M life Moments will be added to enhance the program’s value to members. M life Moments are one-of-a-kind experiences exclusive for members, and Borgata’s M life Moments will include an “Ultimate Spa Day at The Water Club,” “Wine Tasting with Borgata’s Sommelier,” and a “Lunch + Learn with Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian.”

Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor’s upcoming rematch “UFC 202 Bad Blood: Diaz vs. McGregor 2” has been immortalized forever in Brent Benger’s newest creation. The stunningly realistic painting captures the essence of McGregor in amazing detail, who is putting everything into the rematch in the hopes of finding redemption and erasing the devastating memories of his last fight with Diaz. MEN’S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS AT NEW T-MOBILE ARENA IN LAS VEGAS
 

Three-Year Agreements with T-Mobile Arena and Las Vegas Events Announced 

The Pac-12 has reached an agreement with T-Mobile Arena and Las Vegas Events to keep the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas for the next three years, the Conference announced today. The tournament will be played in T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas’ newest sports and entertainment venue being developed by joint venture partners AEG and MGM Resorts International and set to open April 6, 2016. 

The Pac-12 originally brought the tournament to Las Vegas in 2012 after more than a decade in Los Angeles. Last year, the Pac-12 extended its agreement to host the 2016 tournament in Las Vegas, and now the Pac-12 has committed for the next three years.

The season-ending conference championship tournaments in Las Vegas have drawn great attendance over the four years at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, culminating with a sellout of all sessions this year, and provided an exciting experience for Pac-12 student-athletes and fans. 

“In only four years, we have created one of the very best post-season tournaments in all of college basketball here in Las Vegas,” said Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott. “Our fans have responded, the atmosphere has been electric, and our student-athletes have really enjoyed playing in front of great crowds. We are now thrilled to build on our success in the state-of-the-art T-Mobile Arena and deliver a world-class experience to more Pac-12 fans.”

This year’s tournament continues tonight at 6 p.m. PT at the MGM Grand Garden Arena as the top four seeds – Oregon, Arizona, Utah, and California compete in the semi-final round. The 2016 championship game will take place tomorrow night at 7 p.m. PT with the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on the line.

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino announced today the final phase of its resort-wide transformation with the upcoming redesign of more than 3,000 guest rooms and suites.

Created by the MGM Resorts International Design Group, each of the designs for the new rooms and suites will feature vibrant colors and bold statement pieces, exuding a confident and inviting atmosphere.

Featuring bright, natural designs and color palettes with modern furnishings, the new rooms will offer comfortable spaces ideal for guests in search of a retreat during their stay. Splashes of texture and color have been carefully integrated into lush fabrics and warm curtain patterns to create a bright and airy atmosphere.

Resort Collection

The Resort King will feature a refreshing cobalt and white color scheme where the softness of the curtains will accentuate the curves of the carpet. The Resort Queen rooms will welcome guests with either a warm ruby and latte combination or rich lavender and mocha. Creating a bold centerpiece for the room, each bed is framed by a vibrant mural onyx-inspired wall. Meeting Planners, Travel Professionals and Leisure Partners Compete for Prizes and Bragging Rights

 Back for a second consecutive year, the MGM Resorts International Recipe Showdown is expanding to 16 cities across the U.S. and Canada, and this year it’s open to travel professionals in addition to meeting planners.

The initial showdown was a success with meeting planners in 12 cities dishing up best-kept secret recipes for a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas, prepare their dishes in front of celebrity chef judges including award-winning chef Julian Serrano, and enjoy a special private performance by The Mirage headliner Terry Fator.  Only one could prevail as the first-ever winner of this competition and that honor went to Melissa Moskal, creative manager at Prime Strategies in Vancouver, Canada, who wowed the judges with Melissa’s Marvelous Moussaka.

Now is the time to start sifting through those kitchen drawers for that favorite family recipe. Winners of each city showdown will be whisked away to Las Vegas in October for the national finals and compete for the honor, prizes and bragging rights of being the 2015 MGM Resorts International Recipe Showdown winner!  The 16 finalists will prepare their dishes in front of a live audience cheering on their picks.

The city showdowns begin in June and go through September where one winner will emerge from each location.

Highlights Commitment to Local Businesses

MGM National Harbor, LLC, a subsidiary of MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM), today celebrated the contributions of its construction company partners and workforce, all of which are working together to bring a world-class destination resort to Prince George’s County. After receiving building permits just eight months ago, the project has hired the 1,000th member of its construction workforce, as it moves toward its opening in the second half of 2016.

Nearly 300 invited guests attended the event which was held on the project site, marking the project’s remarkable progress. Among those attending were MGM Resorts International Chairman and CEO Jim Murren, President and COO of MGM National Harbor Lorenzo Creighton, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, Senate President Mike Miller and other state legislators, as well as Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker, community leaders and project supporters.

“It’s amazing to think that this is the same piece of land I stood on less than three years ago – untouched but so full of potential for the residents of Prince George’s County and the State of Maryland,” said Murren. “While we still have hard work ahead, this is an achievement of which the people of Prince George’s County – many of whom are standing and working on site today – can be proud. Today we celebrate the dedicated men and women who turn vision into reality.”

Governor Larry Hogan spoke of the impact the MGM National Harbor project will have on the future of Maryland.

“This is a great day for Prince George’s County and the entire state of Maryland. Having grown up in this county, I know the positive effect this project is already having on the livelihoods of so many hardworking Marylanders,” said Governor Hogan. “The impact MGM National Harbor will have on our state and workforce will be tremendous, and not only for the 1,000 skilled construction workers we are celebrating today, but for the thousands of jobs that will be created once this magnificent building opens its doors next year.”

Creighton said, “The hiring of MGM National Harbor’s1000th construction worker marks a significant milestone in a process that started at the ballot box in 2012. We are honored to have been chosen for this project and look forward to delivering a special destination of which the people of Prince George’s County and Maryland can be incredibly proud.

Since work on the site began last summer, more than 500,000 cubic yards of soil – enough to fill Ravens stadium – have been removed from the site and excavation is nearing completion. More than 6,000 foundation piles have been installed and the first of what will be hundreds of thousands of square feet of concrete is now being placed. The first “slab on grade” pour was made in February for the lowest level of the parking garage. By summer, the four cranes towering over the site will grow to 10, and the average daily number of workers on site will continue to grow from approximately 160 in January to more than 1,000.

“Currently the largest development project in the County, MGM National Harbor is creating thousands of good paying jobs and has made a commitment to hiring employees and contractors from Prince George’s,” said County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III. “I wish them continued success as they work to build a $1.2 billion destination resort that will attract attention and visitors from around the world.”

While working hard on construction, MGM National Harbor is also hard at work fulfilling its commitment to utilize local and minority vendors on the project. Even though work is still ramping up, 62 local community Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) certified by either the Maryland Department of Transportation or Prince George’s County are already engaged. These businesses include locally-based companies including Arel Architects, which was engaged to provide administrative management for the project team’s permit application processes.

“It’s humbling to reflect on the past year and all that’s been done to make this project a reality,” said Ronald Lipford, president and CEO of Arel Architects, Inc., a certified minority-owned business located in the Temple Hills community of Prince George’s County. “We were among the first Prince George’s County companies to partner with MGM on this monumental undertaking, and it’s exciting to see just how many more local and minority-owned businesses have been brought into the mix with many more to come.”

Phyllis James, Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer for MGM Resorts International, emphasized that the company’s continuing commitment extends beyond local MBE participation to include local hiring as well.

“The Community Benefits Agreement signed by MGM and Prince George’s County assures that thousands of jobs, tens of millions in payroll, and robust local minority business opportunities stay in Prince George’s County during both construction and operations of the new resort,” said James. “We’re committed to ensuring that local and minority-owned businesses are among the biggest beneficiaries of this agreement long after the doors of MGM National Harbor open.”

MGM National Harbor is a destination gaming resort project located in National Harbor, the waterfront development on the shores of the Potomac River in Prince George’s County, just south of Washington, D.C. near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. In December 2013, MGM National Harbor was awarded a license to operate the sixth casino in the State of Maryland. Hundreds attend construction kick off

Development will change face of Downtown Springfield

MGM Resorts International today hosted the groundbreaking of MGM Springfield, an approximately $800 million casino resort slated to open in fall 2017 in Downtown Springfield. The event marked the start of the construction phase of this unique urban mixed-use development, the Commonwealth’s first destination casino resort.

Hundreds of people were in attendance at the groundbreaking celebration, emceed by Kathy Tobin, former local news anchor and current Director of Program Development at Friends of the Homeless. With the Zanetti School – severely damaged by the June 2011 tornado that tore through Springfield’s South End – as a backdrop, speakers highlighted the history of Springfield, the rebirth of the South End neighborhood, and the energy and optimism that is filling the region.

Jim Murren, MGM Resorts International Chairman and CEO, said, “With every licensing milestone and every campaign victory, we have honored the potential of MGM Springfield. Today is even more special, though, as we put shovels in the ground to officially celebrate what we came here to do, put people back to work and begin a rebirth of the once thriving urban center of Western Massachusetts.”

The crowd that included many state and local elected and appointed officials gathered to hear from Murren, MGM Springfield President Michael Mathis, Massachusetts Gaming Commission Chairman Steve Crosby, Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno, and Revitalize CDC Associate Director Ethel Griffin. More than 30 construction workers representing various trades were at the site to honor the moment when thriving development returned to this hard-hit section of Springfield.

Guests were treated to an interactive event as they were asked to participate by writing their wishes for the future of the City of Springfield and Western Massachusetts. Their wishes were then dropped into an MGM Springfield wishing well. MGM will put all of the wishes into a capsule that will be placed in the resort foundation as construction begins. The outdoor event also featured a traditional first shovel of dirt ceremony as well as celebratory confetti blasts.

In keeping with MGM’s commitment to engage local businesses, Springfield vendors Langone’s, AC Produce and Palazzo provided décor and beverages. Zascos Productions of Chicopee provided the staging, risers, sound and technical equipment. And Taylor Rental of South Hadley provided additional tables and chairs.

The day was about recognizing the rich history of the City of Springfield while moving the Gateway City into a new era of commerce and economic opportunity.

Mathis said, “The City of Springfield’s people welcomed us into their hearts and homes and trusted us with their hopes for the future. This property was designed with the input of residents who wanted more for their families and their community. Today is the day we start to realize that future as we activate the most robust construction site Springfield has ever seen.”

MGM Springfield will bring 3,000 permanent jobs and 2,000 construction jobs to Downtown Springfield. MGM has established a hiring goal of 35 percent of the workforce from the City of Springfield and 90 percent from a combination of Springfield and the region. Additionally, MGM Springfield has entered into surrounding community agreements with neighboring communities providing for tens of millions of dollars.

Sarno said, “The Springfield Renaissance is underway and MGM Springfield is the catalyst our city needed to jump start our revival. With thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in economic activity; the economic center of Western Massachusetts is on the rise. We look forward to working with our residents, businesses and MGM during the construction process.”

MGM Springfield Details
MGM Springfield is being designed to ignite a Downtown Springfield revival and enhance the region’s urban center. The mixed-used development includes a 25-story, 250-room hotel with a world-class spa, a pool and roof deck; 125,000 square feet of gaming space with 3,000 slot machines, 75 gaming tables, a poker room and high limit VIP gambling area; about 55,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space that will accommodate 15 shops and restaurants; and a multi-level parking garage.

Plans also envision a high-energy dining, retail and entertainment district with an eight-screen cinema, bowling alley and an outdoor stage. Next Steps
Over the next several weeks, site activity will largely consist of necessary abatement work to clear hazardous materials from buildings scheduled for demolition. In parallel, the MGM Springfield team is working on agreements with multiple contractors who can meet the spring and summer construction timelines for several project components, including excavation, waterproofing and utilities. Other team members will continue to work closely with local workforce training partners to develop curricula and job training that will match the needs of an MGM Springfield workforce.
