Auditions to be Held in Miami, New York City and Los Angeles

FOX has renewed the multi-Emmy Award-winning dance competition series SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE for a 17th season. From Industrial Media’s 19 Entertainment and dick clark productions, and hosted by Emmy Award nominee Cat Deeley, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE will return this summer on FOX.

Auditions for the 17th season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE kick off next month. Dancers can audition online by registering and uploading a video, or providing a link to a video of their performance, at https://soyouthinkyoucandance2020season17.castingcrane.com/age-gate. Selected dancers will be invited to attend auditions in Miami (March 19 and 20), New York (March 28 and 29) or Los Angeles (April 4 and 5). From those auditions, the dancers selected will be invited to Los Angeles to perform for judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Laurieann Gibson.

All persons chosen to participate as contestants are required to verify identity and eligibility to participate in the United States and fulfill the requirements of the production in the United States. Dancers must be no younger than 18 or older than 30 years of age on the day of their in-person auditions. Dancers must provide legal, valid proof of age when they register for auditions.

This year’s recipients have each lead high-impact programs in health, education, protection, humanitarianism, and more. World of Children, celebrating its 20th anniversary, will honor the recipients at the annual World of Children Awards 2017 on Thursday, November 2 at 583 Park Avenue in New York City.

Lily Aldridge Followill (Internationally renowned model, World of Children Ambassador), Stephanie March (Actress, World of Children Board Member), and Caryl Stern (President of U.S. Fund for UNICEF) will speak at the Awards Ceremony. Alina Cho (Editor at Large, Ballantine Bantam Dell, World of Children Advisory Council Member) will host the event as Master of Ceremonies.


World of Children receives thousands of nominations from around the world ever year and uses a uniquely rigorous vetting process to select Honorees, including an on-site investigation and independent audit of each finalist. Recognized as the “Nobel Prize for Child Advocates,” Honorees will receive a grant to help their program grow and ultimately impact the lives of even more children.


This year’s Honorees include:

  • 2017 World of Children Education Honoree: Maureen Rover, founder of The Reading Team, is boosting elementary school literacy rates by instilling a lifelong love and enthusiasm for reading in children from New York’s disadvantaged communities. Since its inception, The Reading Team has grown from teaching 70 students in 2000 to over 700 today.
  • 2017 World of Children Health Honoree: Dr. Üstün Ezer, founder of LOSEV, is increasing the survival rate of children with leukemia by pioneering an innovative medical, financial, and educational support system in Turkey. LOSEV provides children with leukemia and chronic blood disorders access to free, life-saving treatment and a strong, holistic support system. Before LOSEV was founded, only 22% of children with leukemia survived. Now, about 92% of children survive.
  • 2017 World of Children Humanitarian Honoree: Winnie Barron, founder of the Makindu Children’s Program, is breaking the cycle of poverty through a community-based approach to the care, education, and empowerment for the most vulnerable children in Makindu – a rural region of eastern Kenya. The Makindu Children’s Program supports Makindu Children’s Centre (MCC), a day resource facility that provides high-protein meals, education, income generating projects, and treatment for HIV and AIDS, in addition to placing children in guardian homes whenever possible to provide a safe and healthy environment to grow up in.

  • 2017 World of Children Protection Honoree: Jackie Branfield, founder of Operation Bobbi Bear, is rebuilding the justice system for children in South Africa who have been abused so they can gain access to treatment, recovery, and care. Operation Bobbi Bear acts as a filter between police and children who have been assaulted. Children who report abuse are taken to a safe, comfortable place, rather than an intimidating environment, where they are given a bear on which to draw. The organization’s goal is to make coming to the authorities easier for children so they are more likely report abuse within 24 hours and be treated for HIV.

  • 2017 World of Children Youth Honoree: Teagan Stedman, founder of Shred Kids’ Cancer, is developing a new market for pediatric cancer research by fusing the power of music and the unstoppable energy of young people, showing children diagnosed with cancer that other youth are fighting the disease alongside them. At just 18 years old—using the funds raised through Shred Kids’ Cancer—he has created a new drug delivery system for pediatric cancer that is currently in clinical trials. In partnership with the Jefferson Awards Foundation, Teagan will also become a 2017 GlobeChanger in the GlobeChangers program, an incubator for young social entrepreneurs that provides mentorship, training, and a support network for the country’s most promising leaders ages 5-25.

 Nick Cannon, host of “Wild ‘N Out,” rapper, actor, comedian, entrepreneur, record producer, radio and television personality, appeared at Sugar Factory American Brasserie at the Fashion Show in Las Vegas on Sunday. While there, he talked with movie producer and owner of Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre Elie Samaha and Sugar Factory founder Charissa Davidovici about their upcoming collaboration on Theatre Box, opening in San Diego in spring 2018.

“Theatre Box is truly a one-of-a-kind 70,000 square-foot entertainment complex with eight luxury theatres and 700 seats combined, including San Diego’s first IMAX theatre,” said Samaha. “It will house the world’s largest retail confectionary store and the first TCL Chinese Theatre outside of Hollywood, and we’re looking forward to combining the signature services and experiences from each brand.”

In addition to the new features, Theatre Box will also include TCL Chinese Theatre’s iconic movie star handprints and footprints such as John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Tom Cruise, The Rock, Jack Nicholson, Paul Newman and Sophia Loren. There are also plans for a beer garden on the rooftop and star-studded LA movie premieres with much more to come.

Nick arrived to the red carpet wearing a red varsity jacket before heading into the candy store. Exclaiming his love for candy, Nick filled bags with tennis balls sour gumballs, gummy octopuses and fried eggs, watermelon fruit sours, cotton candy crunchers, psychedelic jawbreakers and Sugarpova gumball sporty mix.

He graciously stopped and posed for photos with fans and kids in the restaurant before heading upstairs to the Chocolate Lounge with a group of Wild ‘N Out girls. After taking photos and selfies on the whimsical carousel, the group sipped on the brand new Insane Campfire Spiked S’mores Coffee Milkshake, Frozen Chocolate Bacon S’mores, Frozen Chocolate Spiced Coffee, Mai Tai Goblet and White Gummy Goblet. Nick also enjoyed Drake’s specialty Night Owl goblets, made with Virginia Black Whiskey.

The group dined on dishes including club sandwich, bruschetta, chicken and waffles, bleu cheese bacon burger and salmon salad.

The brand-new aunt to baby North West arrived to a swarm of hundreds of fans and photographers sporting skin-tight white jeans and a one-eyed sequin top, paired with Christian Louboutin stilettos.

The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star hit the red carpet with Sugar Factory owner, Charissa Davidovici, and caused a frenzy in the heart of the New York City hotspot.

Jenner noshed on the Signature Sugar Factory Burger and didn’t hold back when it came to the fries – her favorite. After dinner, the reality stars headed to Sugar Factory’s retail store where they picked up Couture Pops and bags of White Chocolate Gummy Bears. Graziano enjoyed her Sugar Factory visit so much that she declared it her new favorite hangout in New York City.

After 10 hours of filming “The Newsroom,” Patel took quick break in between takes at Sugar Factory’s retail shop. The Slum Dog Millionaire actor loaded his bag with Sour Patch Kids, Red Licorice, Energy Gummy Bears and Candy Rope before heading back to the “The Newsroom” set.

Tuschman stopped by for a bite at Meatpacking District’s newest eatery. He indulged in Sugar Factory’s Pacific Salmon with Bacon-Herb Vinaigrette and a side of grilled asparagus.

International entertainer, DJ Skribble, enjoyed brunch at the new Sugar Factory American Brasserie in New York City’s famed Meatpacking District on Friday.

After hearing buzz about the Las Vegas-based eatery’s expansion to The Big Apple, Scribble brought his son to check out the sweet retreat’s latest venue. Skribble enjoyed a Banana Split Crepe, while his son ate a S’Mores Crepe. The two sipped on Birthday Cake Milkshakes for dessert.

After their meal, the guys headed to Sugar Factory’s retail area where they picked out Chocolate Covered Gummy Bears and Sugar Factory’s signature Couture Pops.

Camp Broadway Returns to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts  For Its Second Year in Las Vegas

Enrollment now open for children ages six to 17

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts brings Camp Broadway to Las Vegas for its second year with its two signature programs: Camp Broadway, for students ages 10 to 17, and Shining Stars, for students ages six to nine.

Camp Broadway is designed for theater-loving students seeking an authentic Broadway experience. It’s the only musical theater camp in the country that taps the talent of genuine Broadway artists and performing arts partners to teach campers how to deliver as if they’re live, on stage and in the Big Apple.

Camp Broadway, for students ages 10-17, features five days of musical theater programming from July 8 to 12. Shining Stars features five half days of musical theatre creative play from June 17 to 21 for students six to nine.  Both programs are led by trained Broadway professionals who guide students through the process of learning scenes and songs from Broadway’s most famous productions.

“As a champion for the arts and parent of a Camp Broadway graduate in two cities, I can personally attest to the invaluable experience this brings our children,” says Myron Martin, president and CEO of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. “With education at the heartbeat of who we are as an organization, Camp Broadway is such an important part of exposing arts to young people and giving them the opportunity to truly discover passions and polish talents.”

The immersive program gives campers a non-competitive, ensemble-based experience that boosts theatrical skills and self-esteem. Both camps are open to students of all skill levels; no previous experience is necessary. The Camp Broadway and Shining Stars programs each culminate with a finale presentation for family and friends.

While Camp Broadway continues to host its original New York City camp, it has been operating in cities nationwide for more than 13 years. Since its inception in 1995, Camp Broadway has hosted nearly 20,000 children from all over the world at its annual camp and special events in New York City.
