ABOUT SHANIA KIDS CAN – LAS VEGAS
Doris French Elementary School is located 15 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip serving about 550 students each year from very diverse backgrounds. The students represent more than 25 countries and speak more than 17 different languages. About 25% of the students are learning to speak English. The vision of French Elementary is to provide high-quality education, social and emotional support, and a positive and safe learning environment for children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.  At French Elementary, the mission is to lay the foundation for on-going growth and achievement, while promoting social responsibility within the community.

Elementary school can be very challenging for their students due to the complex trauma many of them experience through hunger, housing insecurities, lack of medical and dental care, and unsafe living environments. The support from Shania Kids Can helps to create a safe and nurturing environment for students that are facing some of the most significant challenges in their daily lives, helping them set goals and fully participate in their education.  The goal at French Elementary is to ensure that all students receive the support they need to feel safe at school and supported at home.
