Maverick Helicopters celebrates its return to the sky on May 22 with the “Our Vegas” promotion that will offer a chance for locals and visitors to fly above the world-famous Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas for free. 250 winners and their guest will be randomly selected beginning May 20 through mid-June for this ultimate helicopter experience over Las Vegas.

The STRAT to Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with Pool Parties, a Grand Opening and More



The STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod will host a weekend-long celebration with two poolside parties and the opening of 108 Drinks this Memorial Day weekend, from Friday, May 24 through Monday, May 27.


Both of The STRAT’s two pools, Elation Pool Café and Bar and the 21 and over Radius Rooftop Pool and Wet Lounge, will be open to non-hotel guests with an admission fee, with complimentary entry for hotel guests. Elation, open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday through Monday, has introduced a new menu with elevated poolside fare, including lobster taquitos, chili-lime chicken wings and a cerveza-battered fish taco trio, as well as new cocktails including the pineapple mojito, berry mule and frosé.

Admission is $10 for non-hotel guests of all ages.


Located on the 24th floor of The STRAT, Radius, open from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Friday through Monday, is a European-style pool where tops are optional. The stylish pool offers breathtaking views of the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding valley. Admission is $14 for non-hotel guests 21 years of age and older.


The Observation Deck, located on the 108th level of The STRAT’s SkyPod, will celebrate the opening of 108 Drinks, a full-service bar with signature selections and a spectacular view of Las Vegas, located next to the recently opened 108 Eats by James Trees. Just below, 107 SkyLounge—famous for its 360-degree panoramic view of the Las Vegas Valley, will celebrate the holiday weekend with live performances by DJ E-NOC on Friday, 24; DJ CC on Saturday, May 25 and DJ SOXXI on Sunday, May 26.


The SkyPod is also home to The STRAT’s world famous rides and attractions, including SkyJump, a heart-pounding, open-air leap from 829 feet above the Las Vegas Strip, the Observation Deck, Big Shot!, X-Scream and Insanity. Located on Las Vegas Boulevard as a gateway from the North Strip to downtown, The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod offers 2,427 guest rooms and suites, as well as an 80,000-square-foot casino floor. The 1,149-foot STRAT tower, the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States, is home to Top of the World, famed for its revolving dining room and acclaimed cuisine.   • Big Shot

Strap into the Big Shot and prepare to be shot 160 feet in the air at 45 miles per hour as guests overlook the majestic Las Vegas Valley. In a matter of seconds, the Big Shot thrill ride catapults 16 riders from the 921-foot high platform up the tower’s mast to a height of 1,081 feet and down again. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride Big Shot. Riders under the age of 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Insanity

Insanity features a massive mechanical arm extending out 64 feet over the edge of The STRAT tower and stands at a height of over 900 feet. This thrill ride spins passengers in the open air at speeds of up to three ‘G’s. Riders are propelled up to an angle of 70 degrees then rewarded with a breathtaking view of historic downtown Las Vegas. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride Insanity. Riders under the age of 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • X-Scream

Hovering 866 feet above the ground, X-Scream’s space-age, yet simplistic, design resembles a massive teeter-totter or rollercoaster unlike anything seen before. X-Scream propels riders headfirst, 27 feet over the edge of the The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod. After being shot over the edge, guests are dangled weightlessly above the Las Vegas Strip before being pulled back and propelled over again for more fun. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride X-Scream. Riders under the age of 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Sky Jump

Sky Jump is a heart-pounding, open-air leap from 829 feet above the neon Strip, holding a Guinness World Record as the highest commercial decelerator descent facility. Day or night, guests can zoom toward the landing pad at speeds topping 40 mph. Jumpers must be 14 years of age or older and 52 inches or taller. Jumpers between 14 – 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must sign an authorization waiver. Maximum weight allowed is 265 pounds. Observation Deck

Nunzio’s Pizzeria
