With a series of engaging and family-friendly performances, Craig Ranch Regional Park Amphitheater  –  the area’s newest live entertainment venue – celebrates its public grand opening October 9, 10, 23 and 24.   The multi-thousand seat outdoor theater will present nationally-known acts WAR, Sammy Kershaw, Paul Rodriguez and Yesterday The Beatles Tribute Show on its recently constructed stage, ushering in a new age of entertainment options in the North Las Vegas community.

Craig Ranch Regional Park Amphitheater will kick off its live performance series with Yesterday – The Beatles Tribute Show on John Lennon’s birthday, Oct. 9. Performing the classic hits of the world’s most famous band, Yesterday will christen the brand new venue with the spirit of The Beatles. The good vibes continue on Saturday, Oct. 10 with the original jazz-rock-blues band WAR, who will get the crowd going with their iconic songs “Low Rider”, “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and more. Country Artist Sammy Kershaw will ride in on Friday, Oct. 23, entertaining patrons with his soulful southern rock and Cajun-inspired vocals. Finally, the grand opening performance series closes with longtime comedian Paul Rodriguez on Saturday, Oct. 24, who will crack up audiences with his unique brand of Latin-American humor and universal appeal.

“We are eager to share this new venue with the public,” said North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee. “Our vision was to make Craig Ranch Regional Park Amphitheater the epicenter of culture for this community, and we are confident that our grand opening celebration will showcase the promised commitment to providing a lively, inviting and safe leisure space. We hope to see an amphitheater filled with family and friends this October, and we encourage everyone from all nearby communities to come check it out. I want North Las Vegas to become our region’s “festival community”.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with shows beginning at 8 p.m. and guests are encouraged to come to the park early for the best views.  Lawn seating, complete with lake and mountain vistas, is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The amphitheater will offer specialty curated fare and libations for purchase from local food trucks and community concessionaires while guests that wish to bring their own fare are encouraged to do so and experience the park’s many amenities, gazebos and shade structures.

What do you get when you take Funk, Jazz, R&B and Rock & Roll and mix it all together? Well, you get one of the greatest bands of all time; WAR has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. Lonnie Jordan, original lead singer, keyboardist extraordinaire and musical director has always been the voice of WAR and is one of the most versatile and musically talented men of the twentieth century. His powerful voice presides over WAR’s political, historical and downright fun songbook. Whether listening to “Lowrider” on “Grand Theft Auto San Andreas” or on classic vinyl, WAR’s music is a timeless thread in the quilt of American pop culture.

WAR is not a band. WAR is a Movement!

In 1969, Eric Burdon and WAR recorded and released their first album entitled “Eric Burdon Declares WAR” featuring the number one single, “Spill The Wine.” Following its release, Eric Burdon and WAR embarked on an extensive tour of Europe and the UK recognize by England’s New Musical Express (1969) as “The best live act I ever saw”. On September 16, 1970 Jimi Hendrix joined Eric Burdon and WAR for a jam session at London’s Famous Ronny Scotts Jazz Club. Unfortunately, this would be Jimi’s last jam session as he passed away later that night. Stunned and devastated by the death of his friend Jimi Hendrix, Eric Burdon made the heavy hearted decision to leave the band and return to Los Angeles. WAR continued their European tour without their former front man before returning to the states.

Following Burdon’s departure, WAR’s career skyrocketed. In the early 1970’s the release of “Slippin’ into Darkness” and “Me and Baby Brother” represented their exhilarating sound and spoke to millions of Americans about the troubled times of Vietnam, Watergate and the ethnic tension that centered around inner cities. Then, in1972 WAR released The World Is a Ghetto. Its second single, “The Cisco Kid,” shipped gold and the album attained the number one spot as Billboard magazine’s Album of the Year.

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is the brand’s third location. With three levels spanning over 80,000 square feet, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is one of the largest performance venues in America and is described by People Magazine as being “on the fast path to being Vegas’ über cool place.” Located at The LINQ, the open-air district in the center of the Las Vegas Strip, the multi-dimensional space boasts 32 lanes of bowling, five on-site bars and rockin’ comfort food by the world-renowned Bromberg Brothers’ Blue Ribbon Restaurants, including their iconic Fried Chicken celebrated on Food Network’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.” On any given night, more than 2,000 concertgoers can enjoy live music programming from the general admission area, the luxurious bowlers’ lounges adjacent to the lanes, or the private lounge boxes overlooking it all. Since opening in March 2014, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas has seen notable performances by Elvis Costello & The Roots, Jane’s Addiction, Phil Lesh & Friends, Primus, O.A.R. and 21 Pilots.

The original location opened in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn in 2009 in the former Hecla Iron Works building (built in 1882) and was the first L.E.E.D. certified bowling alley in the world. Brooklyn Bowl New York has hosted countless notable performances, including shows by Kanye West, Adele, Paul Simon, Moby and Guns N’Roses and has been named Zagat’s “Best Music Venue – New York City” for three consecutive years (as well as “Best Bowling Alley” and “Best Brooklyn Venue”) and one of the best clubs in America by Rolling Stone.  Eater described their menu as “epic,” while The New Yorker hailed the club’s unprecedented combination of top-flight music, beer, bowling, and food as “like nailing a spare on a four-ten split.” The second Brooklyn Bowl location opened in January 2014 at The O2 in London, and was hailed by The London Evening Standard as a “…wonderland of food, drink, music and pins”.
