The Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group is proud to announce the executive team for its new Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill opening at Downtown Summerlin this fall.

Chef Mark Andelbradt will serve as the restaurant’s Executive Chef and Cheryl Mahar as the General Manager.  Slated to open in October, the restaurant will mark the company’s seventh Las Vegas restaurant and Puck’s first off-Strip location.

Mark Andelbradt is currently part of the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group family where he oversees Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio at The Venetian’s Grand Canal Shoppes as executive chef.  A native of Chicago, Andelbradt has held high positions in prestigious kitchens including Daniel in New York with Daniel Boulud; Morimoto in both Philadelphia and New York with “Iron Chef” Masaharu Morimoto and Brasserie T and Tru in Chicago with Rick Tramonto and Gale Gand.

“It’s exciting to be a part of Wolfgang’s first off-Strip restaurant in Las Vegas,” said Mark Andelbradt.  “Las Vegas is now home for my family, and I’m really looking forward to becoming even further rooted in the community with this great neighborhood restaurant.”

Colorado native Cheryl Mahar is no stranger to the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group. Mahar began her managerial experience at Spago Las Vegas inside The Forum Shops at Caesars where she worked for six years.  While at Spago, Mahar helped cultivate staff incentive and training programs as well as developed wine and beverage programs.  From there, Mahar held various managerial and sales positions with Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion, Cili Restaurant and Bali Hai Golf Course and Wirtz Beverage, providing her with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the food and beverage industry.

“I’m looking so forward to re-joining the Wolfgang Puck family,” said Cheryl Mahar.  “It was tremendously rewarding to be a part of Wolfgang’s first Las Vegas venture when I was with Spago in the early 90s. Wolfgang Puck To Open His First Off-Strip Restaurant In Las Vegas

wolfgang puck

WOLFGANG PUCK TO OPEN HIS FIRST OFF-STRIP RESTAURANT IN LAS VEGAS
Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill coming to Downtown Summerlin

Wolfgang Puck is heading West…to the westside of Las Vegas! Twenty two years ago, Wolfgang Puck took a gamble on Las Vegas by bringing his famed Los Angeles restaurant Spago to The Strip. The gamble paid off, and the legendary chef is credited with igniting the fine dining revolution in Las Vegas that began in 1992 and continues today. After bringing five additional signature Strip restaurants to Las Vegas, Wolfgang and his Fine Dining Group will again venture into new territory with the opening of Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at Downtown Summerlin, Puck’s first off-Strip restaurant.

“I am so fortunate that guests have embraced and welcomed us as part of the Las Vegas community for more than two decades,” said Wolfgang Puck. “We have such strong loyalty from locals who have been, and continue to be, a driving force behind the success of our six Strip restaurants. It’s exciting for us to move off of The Strip and become an integral part of the neighborhood.”

Opening this fall, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill will showcase the master chef’s contemporary version on the classic, American bar & grill. The approachable lunch and dinner menus will feature Puck’s signature comfort food offering seasonally driven salads, sandwiches, grilled meats, seafood, handmade pasta, and pizzas from the wood-burning oven. Classic and artisanal cocktails, craft beers and wines will make the bar menu.

It’s important to Puck and his managing partners, all who have children and young families of their own, to place a strong emphasis on family dining as well as convenience for guests. To do so, the team will create an extensive children’s menu complete with healthful and enticing options perfect for toddlers to tweens. For guests’ on-the-go, an innovative curbside program will offer ease of pick-up and payment to ensure quick in and out for customers.

The 200-seat restaurant will provide a warm and casual environment in a beautiful setting designed by EDG, who also created the stunning redesign of Spago at The Forum Shops as well as additional Wolfgang Puck fine dining establishments around the country. The design will take inspiration from Santa Monica, Austin and San Francisco, capturing the energetic yet relaxed lifestyle of each city, which is so much a part of Wolfgang Puck. The coloration and materials will pay homage to the desert beauty and towering red cliffs of Las Vegas’ Red Rock Canyon. The stand-alone building will overlook a beautiful park in the shopping environment and will include two open and airy patio seating areas.

The restaurant will feature private dining space as well as various options for events small and large. The team will offer personalized service and attention to deliver unforgettable banquets, events, private functions for adult and children celebrations.

“When we opened Spago in 1992, I, along with managing partner David Robins, quickly rooted ourselves in the Las Vegas community through charitable outreach, building our homes and growing our families here,” said Tom Kaplan, senior managing partner of the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group. “We have had great interest in bringing one of our signature concepts to the local neighborhood. In all of our projects, it comes down to timing, the right partner and the right location. Downtown Summerlin is certain to become the premier community development in Las Vegas. We look forward to seeing many familiar faces, and hopefully new faces, at the restaurant.”

When complete, Downtown Summerlin will include retail, entertainment, office and multi-family residences, designed to create a vibrant, walkable downtown in the heart of the affluent 22,500-acre master planned community.

WITH CARNEVALE, INSPIRED BY THE FESTIVALS OF ITALY
Guests can celebrate 300 experiences during three months of summer fun, featuring grand experiences in entertainment, art, fashion, games, music and wine

The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas will come alive with the fantasy, food, fun and romance of Italy during CARNEVALE, a three-month celebration of the summer festivals of Italy, May 27 through Sept. 8, 2013. Based on the highly successful premier in 2012, the festival will be expanded to feature 300 experiences throughout the summer, including many exclusively for The Venetian and The Palazzo guests and Grazie members.

CARNEVALE is inspired by the numerous festivals that grace the small villages and towns of Italy throughout summer. The grandest of them all –Venice’s CARNEVALE – was born in 1162, and is heralded as one of Europe’s greatest celebrations of art, food and culture. In that tradition, wonder and revelry will surround guests at The Venetian and The Palazzo resorts, with activities that center around entertainment, art, fashion, games, sports, music and wine. From visual spectacles to themed characters and unexpected surprises around every corner, guests will be wrapped up in the pageantry that is CARNEVALE .

“The magic of CARNEVALE is never knowing what unexpected surprise is around the corner,” said John Caparella, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo. “CARNEVALE offers the perfect place unmask your inner artist, adventurer, foodie and romantic.”

Special Value for Overnight Guests
The “Passaporto di CARNEVALE ” will be included with overnight stays throughout CARNEVALE featuring special discounts and entertainment specials valued at more than $1,000, including retail offers from resort restaurants, spa, and The Grand Canal Shoppes. **PHOTOS** Kimora Lee Simmons Brings “Fabulosity” to Carnevale at The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas

“Fabulosity” has taken over The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas with the help of Kimora Lee Simmons as she kicked off the opening of Carnevale. The whimsical event took place at The Venetian on the Doge’s Palace Plaza where guests previewed all facets of the summer-long Italian-inspired celebration, from Carnevale-inspired food and beverage offerings, a cast of Carnevale “lighted” characters that mingled with visitors, an iconic performance from speed painter Salvador Live! and the melodic sounds of world-pop violin trio Alizma.

Kimora, the special hostess of the evening, arrived on a float as she unveiled herself from behind a custom jeweled and feathered mask head piece that matched her Farah Khan hand beaded gold short mini dress and Giuseppe Zanotti heels. She was joined by President of The Palazzo and The Venetian, Mr. John Caparella, and welcomed the crowd to the start of the summer festivities. They both led the crowd in a countdown to the grand finale, an inaugural showing of the “Light of Venice” 3D light spectacular, during which the façade of the Clock Tower illuminated into a visually stunning light performance that seemingly brought the building to life.

Kimora mentioned that this summer she was going to come back with her kids and husband to enjoy the festivities as they have many activities that the children will love.

The supermom, designer and fashion figure let guests in on her secret about being successful in the work place, a great mother as well as looking fabulous. She said, “family always comes first and you don’t have to be a superhero to do it all. It’s about prioritizing and knowing what is most important which is being happy.” People also noticed her great figure and how she was able to get a great summer body. She said she is creating a “fabulosity diet” for everyone to try including cardio, protein, some gym time and carbs.

Kimora finished the night by cutting the Carnevale cake joined by a few of the characters. She joked around by saying, “it is a wedding from Alice in Wonderland,” as she cut the cake and fed it to one of the Carnevale characters. After enjoying all the festivities outside she headed inside for a ride on the famous Venetian gondolas with friends then to a late dinner at CUT by Wolfgang Puck.

Celebrate the magic and fantasy of Carnevale this summer, featuring three months of classic Italian festivities, including new experiences, entertainment, art, music and wine from June 4 to Sept. 9. For more information on Carnevale, please visit venetian.com/carnevale or palazzo.com/carnevale. The Forum Shops at Caesars Hits 20 Year Milestone of High Fashion and Luxury Brands

THE FORUM SHOPS AT CAESARS IN LAS VEGAS
CELEBRATES MILESTONE 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Iconic Retail and Dining Destination Introduced High Fashion, Luxury Brands and
Celebrity Chefs to Las Vegas Retail When the Doors Opened in May 1992

Home to Many Las Vegas Firsts, Including: Versace, Fendi, Wolfgang Puck, Dior,
John Varvatos, Nike, Valentino, Juicy Couture, and Ted Baker London

What do Fendi, Versace, Dior, Varvatos, Ted Baker, Valentino and Puck all have in common besides great style and flair?  They all first opened in Las Vegas at The Forum Shops at Caesars. When the Forum Shops opened their doors 20 years ago in 1992 the concept of couture, high-fashion, luxury and celebrity chefs had not yet made its way to the shopping malls of the desert playground.  When Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE:SPG), the world’s leading retail real estate company, unveiled its distinctive Roman streetscape, sky-painted ceilings and an array of shopping and dining which had never before existed in Las Vegas, The Forum Shops at Caesars immediately became a Las Vegas institution. Today, 20 years after opening, it remains one of the highest grossing shopping centers in the world.

Perfectly situated in the heart of Las Vegas – right on the center of the famed Strip, the concept for The Forum Shops broke all the standard rules for shopping mall success — and Las Vegas.  There were no anchor stores to drive the traffic and luxury retailers had never before made the journey to the famed city.  Now, after two expansions bringing the square footage to nearly 700,000, The Forum Shops is recognized around the globe for its unique combination of top retail, dining, entertainment, excellent location and exciting ambiance featuring 145 specialty shops and 15 restaurants.

While celebrating its past, The Forum Shops has its eye firmly on the future and will launch a series of social media and web-based firsts in honor of the milestone accomplishment, including a 20th Anniversary Pinterest profile ( http://pinterest.com/theforumshops) featuring one-of-a-kind photos from 1992-2012, and Instagram profile ( http://instagrid.me/theforumshops) and a unique campaign utilizing Rdio ( http://www.rdio.com/#/people/TheForumShops/) to house 20 distinctive Forum Shops music mixes from each year it has been open so that people can download and share their favorite tunes.  With the advent of Facebook’s new Timeline feature, the Forum shops Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/forumshops) will highlight the last 20 years of fashion and history, as well as be the home-base for a unique digital scavenger hunt.

Additionally, to thank the millions of patrons who have visited The Forum Shops over the years, as well as to say thank you to their loyal local customers who call Las Vegas home, a series of contests and promotions will be launched in April featuring twenty $1000 Shopping Sprees.

With over 25 million visitors annually, The Forum Shops ranks as one of Las Vegas’ top attractions and continues to inspire retail and fashion trends across the globe. As an icon in the retail industry, The Forum Shops success has been driven by continuous reinvention; attracting the world’s best fashion brands and becoming home to fast-growing new companies looking to showcase their product on the world stage. The Forum Shops at Caesars paved the way for Las Vegas to transform itself into a leading force on the fashion scene.

From its spiral escalator to Wolfgang Puck’s Spago restaurant to Antiquities (one of Michael Jackson’s favorite stores) to The Palm restaurant to the world’s biggest H&M to the Atlantis Show, Trevi Fountain, 50,000 gallon fish tank and spectacular art galleries and jewelers, The Forum Shops at Caesars welcomes more than 25 million people per year.  Today, The Forum Shops continues to grow with recent expansions from Salvatore Ferragamo, Stuart Weitzman and Louis Vuitton, as well as new openings from Pal Zileri, Coach Men’s, Sephora and Martin Lawrence Galleries. “We have had a fantastic year,” comments Maureen Crampton, director of marketing for The Forum Shops. “I believe people come to The Forum Shops not only to shop and dine, but to literally be transported to a different place in time.  From the changing hues of the sky-lined ceiling to the overall ambience of the streets of Rome to the daily Atlantis Show, we created a place where people can enjoy the theatrics of the shopping center.”
