THE COLOSSEUM AT CAESARS PALACE IN LAS VEGAS,
HOME TO THE GREATEST ENTERTAINERS IN THE WORLD

Preparing to mark its tenth milestone anniversary in March 2013, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is welcoming international superstar Shania Twain as its newest resident artist this month. As the “Home to the Greatest Entertainers in the World,” The Colosseum enters 2013 and beyond ready to continue to provide a global audience with not only the best in entertainment, but also the best venue for enjoying superstar talent, events and special performances.

Having perfected the modern-day concept of Superstar Resident Performers, which had all but been forgotten since Elvis left the stage, The Colosseum launched a new decade of great entertainment featuring such box office heavyweights as Celine Dion, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Bette Midler, Cher and Jerry Seinfeld. Add the incredible list of featured performances over the past decade including such notable names as Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, Janet Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, Mariah Carey, Dave Chappelle, Stevie Nicks, Jamie Foxx and Kathy Griffin and it is not surprising since its opening, The Colosseum has received some of the industry’s most prestigious and coveted awards, including:

· Named Venue of the Decade for 2000 – 2009 by Billboard Magazine for venues with capacities of 5,000 or less.
· Named Top Small Venue by The Billboard Touring Awards all seven years the award was offered: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
· Named one of the 100 Top Selling Theater Venues by Pollstar in 2006.
· Named Top Small Venue by The Billboard Backstage Pass Awards in 2004.

Today, The Colosseum is welcoming fans from across the world as Shania Twain debuts her highly anticipated new Las Vegas production SHANIA: STILL THE ONE.

Built in 2003 for the premiere of Celine Dion A New Day…, The Colosseum is a modern replica of Rome’s architectural wonder, complete with world class acoustics and a classic style. After Dion’s legendary five-year run ended in December 2007, The Colosseum underwent an extensive transformation to prepare for the next generation of resident artists – including her record-breaking return in 2011.

Designed to accommodate stage shows of all varieties, The Colosseum seats an impressive 4,298 with no seat farther than 120-feet from the stage and is equipped with state-of-the-art audio and visual elements, including one of the largest indoor high-definition LED screens in North America (120-feet wide by 33-feet tall).

“We refer to The Colosseum as being the Home to the Greatest Entertainers in the World; we have to live up to that billing every day. It reflects everything we do here, from our bookings to continuously updating the venue to take advantage of the best technologies to our customer service and the experience we offer once you enter our doors,” says John Meglen, president and co-CEO, AEG Live/Concerts West.

“We couldn’t be more excited for the debut of Shania Twain and the roster of resident performances at The Colosseum this year,” concludes Gary Selesner, president, Caesars Palace. “We have no doubt this anniversary year, The Colosseum will continue to host some of the most incredible moments in music and entertainment.”
