THE UNDERGROUND SPEAKEASY, DISTILLERY AT THE MOB MUSEUM ANNOUNCES
NOVEMBER PROMOTIONS AND EVENTS
The Underground, the Prohibition history exhibition at The Mob Museum, announces special promotions, programs and events for November.
Kefauver Day Specials
- Date: Friday, Nov. 15
- Time: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Description: All guests will enjoy 20 percent off all food and beverage inside The Underground speakeasy in honor of Kefauver Day, which commemorates the Kefauver Committee hearing that took place in the Museum’s courtroom in 1950. Named after Senator Estes Kefauver of Tennessee, the Kefauver Committee hearings were televised and brought organized crime into the living rooms of many Americans for the first time. They were held in 14 U.S. cities from 1950 to 1951 and were pivotal in the national fight against organized crime, as well as events that influenced the development of Las Vegas. FREE Museum admission will be available all day for Nevada residents, with non-residents receiving buy-one, get-one admission.

- Description: The Underground speakeasy offers live jazz throughout November including newly added, Sundays. Each evening features local talent performing to a delighted audience amidst the speakeasy’s authentic, 1920s-inspired ambiance. Performing in November will be Amanda King, who combines the best of the jazz and cabaret worlds by applying her creative interpretation of the words, the music and the swing (November 1); Red Penny Arcade, a locally based quartet that plays popular music in a 1920s-50s jazz style (November 2); The Old Fashions, which blends the best of the jazz and blues worlds with sounds from Sinatra to Armstrong (November 3, 23, 29); Kai Brant performs music of the 1910s to 1930s, accompanied by upright bass and stride piano (November 8, 30); Dame Madelyn will be playing a deep and eclectic mix of jazz (November 9, 23); Shaun DeGraff Band, who plays re-imagined jazz-influenced versions of modern popular songs (November 10, 24); Nieve Malandra, who sings vintage and contemporary jazz, R&B and pop (November 15, 22); The Good Hurt, a local six-piece band that plays an array of hits from the 30s as well as the 40s (November 16).
The Underground Happy Hour
- Date: Sunday through Thursday
- Time: 5-7 p.m.
- Cost: $2 off all craft cocktails, draft beer, wine by the glasses and food
- Description: Unwind at The Underground’s speakeasy with reduced prices on Prohibition-inspired cocktails, house-brewed draft beer and an assortment of shareable snacks.

ABOUT THE UNDERGROUND
The Underground is an immersive Prohibition history experiential exhibition, featuring a distillery, speakeasy and private VIP room located in the basement of The Mob Museum and sponsored by Zappos. Its custom-made, copper-pot still, dubbed “Virginia Still” after mobster Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel’s notorious girlfriend Virginia Hill, has a capacity of 60 gallons and can serve up to 250 750-mL jars of moonshine per week. The Underground also brews and serves craft beer onsite. Artifacts from the 1920s and 1930s on display tell the intriguing story of the Prohibition era, which not only saw a proliferation of bootlegged booze and the meteoric growth of organized crime outfits, but also had a profound, lasting impact on society and culture. Complimentary entrance to The Underground is granted at the secret side entrance to visitors who know the correct password, which is published daily on Instagram Stories @MobMuseum_Underground.
