Offer Free Dental Services for Uninsured and Underinsured Children

WHAT: United Way of Southern Nevada partners with Future Smiles to provide complimentary dental services to uninsured and underinsured children in the community. On Friday, July 15, representatives from United Way of Southern Nevada and Future Smiles will be available for interviews to discuss the importance of providing those in need with the appropriate health care and education.

DETAILS: All month long, free dental services including screenings, protective sealants, fluoride varnish, cleanings and education will be completed by certified public health dental hygienists. United Way’s partnership with Future Smiles helps relieve the lack of oral health care and education to those in need in Southern Nevada. The complimentary dental care is provided to children under the age of 18 years old and appointments are based on walk-in availability only.

United Way of Southern Nevada and Future Smiles will provide more than 900 children with complimentary oral health care by the end of 2011. Access to healthcare is part of United Way’s community-based agenda, recognizing that healthy children and families are better prepared to succeed in life.
