RUNNIN’ REBELS HOST BOISE STATE SATURDAY AT 5 PM
Annual Kids Festival as part of Rebel Kids Club Day begins at 3:30 p.m. at Cox Pavilion
The UNLV men’s basketball team, which has won three straight games, four of its last five and 11 of its last 14, will host Boise State at the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 5:05 p.m. It will also be the program’s annual Rebel Kids Club Day with a free Kids Festival taking place at Cox Pavilion starting at 3:30 p.m. It will also be Autism Awareness Day in college basketball with coaches around the country, including UNLV head coach Dave Rice, wearing blue “Autism Speaks” puzzle pins.
UNLV defeated Utah State (62-42) on Jan. 22 and Fresno State (75-73 in overtime) on Jan. 25, both at home, before winning at San José State (70-46) on Wednesday. Prior to its three-game win streak, the Runnin’ Rebels recorded a split in arguably their toughest road trip of the season: a 76-73 win at New Mexico on Jan. 15 at The Pit, and a 63-52 loss on Jan. 18 at No. 5 San Diego State.
Both UNLV and Boise State are tied for fourth in the Mountain West standings with league marks of 5-3, one game behind third-place Nevada, Reno. Saturday’s game against the Broncos will be shown on CBS Sports Network with Rich Waltz and Bob Wenzel calling the action. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the radio call, which may be heard on ESPN Radio 1100/98.9 FM. A radio broadcast listen link along with Gametracker are available at UNLVRebels.com.
