The 2017-18 season marks the second under head coach Marvin Menzies for the Runnin’ Rebels. Menzies and his staff have brought in a recruiting class for this year that has been ranked as high as No. 12 in the country and features McDonald’s High School All-American Brandon McCoy and National Junior College Player of the Year Shakur Juiston. The Runnin’ Rebels return their leading scorer from last season – senior guard Jovan Mooring. Mooring averaged 12.6 points per game in 2016-17 and led the team in assists with 4.0 apg (second in the Mountain West).

Three Runnin’ Rebels recorded double-doubles in the win Saturday. UNLV was led by McCoy’s game highs of 25 points and 18 rebounds. The freshman had a double-double with almost three minutes left in the first half. Juiston added 19 points and 10 rebounds on 9 of 11 shooting, while Jordan Johnson had 10 points and 10 assists (with just one turnover).

Wednesday’s game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network at with Tony Cordasco and former Runnin’ Rebel Marcus Banks calling the action. Jon Sandler and former Runnin’ Rebel Robert Smith will handle the radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/100.9 FM and online via the UNLV Gameday App and TuneIn (link at
