NO. 24 UNLV MEN’S GOLF TO CLOSE OUT FALL SEASON IN FLORIDA
Rebels will play at Tavistock Collegiate Invitational in Orlando, Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 19-21
The No. 24 UNLV men’s golf team will close out its fall season at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational, which is being held at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club (par 72, 7,200 yards) in Orlando, Fla., Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 19-21.
Hosted by UCF and Texas Tech, the 15-team field also includes Arkansas, Baylor, California, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, GRU-Augusta, Illinois, Indiana, New Mexico, North Florida, UNLV and Vanderbilt. The 54-hole stroke-play tournament will consist of three 18-hole rounds played each day with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. ET off No. 1 and 8:25 a.m. ET off No. 10 each day.
Competing for UNLV will be seniors Carl Jonson and Kurt Kitayama, sophomore Taylor Montgomery, freshman John Oda and senior Nicholas Maruri.
Alabama (-26) won by 12 strokes over UCF at last year’s tournament, which was known as the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational, while Alabama’s Trey Mullinax (-11) won individual medalist honors by four shots. The Rebels finished eighth at last year’s event.
This will be the fourth and final tournament of the fall for UNLV. It won the team title at the season-opening Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, finished sixth at the William H.
