UNLV WOMEN’S BASKETBALL NEWS: Lady Rebels Host New Mexico Wednesday To Start Two-Game Homestand

Lady Rebels host New Mexico, looking for a third win in conference play

After a week in which it won back-to-back road games for the first time in almost two years, the UNLV Lady Rebels look to carry that momentum into a pair of home contests this week, starting with Wednesday night’s matchup with New Mexico. UNLV will also host San Diego State on Saturday night, with both games having 7 pm start times in the Cox Pavilion. Wednesday’s game is also Social Media Night for the Lady Rebels, and fans can receive discounted ticket prices by visiting the UNLV Athletics Facebook page.

UNLV is looking for a win over New Mexico in Cox Pavilion for the third straight year, and has not lost a conference game to the Lobos since the 2010-11 season, though UNM has won the matchup between the two in the conference tournament the past two years, with both games coming in the Thomas & Mack Center next door.

One area UNLV has excelled in with the start of conference play has been causing turnovers. The Lady Rebels are first in MW games with 13.3 steals per game, and the 24.3 turnovers forced per game are more then three higher then the next best team.

There will be a live webcast of the game, thanks to the UNLV-TV student production group, that will be featured on the Mountain West Network at while the UNLV radio broadcast, featuring the call from Adam Candee, is available on KSHP 1400 AM and also off a link at
