One of the last hair metal bands to gain popularity with mainstream audiences, Skid Row, has humble beginnings. The American heavy metal band Skid Row formed in a garage in Toms River, N.J. in 1986. The popularity of the band exploded during the 1980s and early 1990s with their debut self-titled album selling over five million copies. Skid Row’s anthems “18 and Life,” “I Remember You,” and “Youth Gone Wild” made the band a hit with audiences.
