The UNLV baseball team (17-25, 8-13 MW) will host New Mexico (23-17, 10-10 MW) this weekend for a three-game Mountain West series set to begin Friday at 6:05 p.m. The series will continue Saturday at 1:05 p.m. and the finale is scheduled for Sunday at 12:05 p.m.

The Lobos enter into the series after a 4-0 week, sweeping Fresno State over the weekend before defeating New Mexico State Tuesday evening.

UNLV posted a 2-3 record over the week, splitting a midweek series against Creighton before dropping two of three games against San Diego State on the road over the weekend.

Friday:
– It’s $2 Dos Equis with Smoke ‘n’ Sams while supplies last.
Sunday:
– $5 mimosas and bloody mary’s with Smoke ‘n’ Sams while supplies last.
– Kids 12 and under will be able to run the bases after the conclusion of Sunday’s contest.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING
– UNLV and New Mexico have squared off a total of 185 times with the first-ever meeting taking place in 1978 at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The Rebels own the advantage in the all-time series, 101-84. UNLV defeated UNM during both three-game series’ played last season, including a series sweep in Albuquerque.

ON DECK
The Hustlin’ Rebels will return to the Golden State for a three-game Mountain West series against Fresno State scheduled to begin Friday, May 12 at 6:05 p.m.

HUSTLIN’ REBELS CLAIM WEEKLY AWARDS
– Reese Lueck received the first Mountain West Player of the Week award for the Rebels this season, being named the Freshman of the Week following UNLV’s perfect opening weekend February 20.
– Junior Noah Carabajal was named the Pitcher of the Week following a series victory over UNR on April 10.

LEADERS IN THE MW AND THE NATION
– UNLV ranks 10th in the NCAA in double plays per game (.98), is tied for 10th in triples per game (.43) and is tied for 22nd in sacrifice flies (26).
– The Hustlin’ Rebels rank third in the Mountain West in triples (18), RBIs (265), hits (412), runs (308) and in doubles (80). They also rank fourth in slugging percentage (.427) and in doubles (83).
– Alex Pimentel leads the conference and is tied for 12th in the NCAA in triples (5). Pimentel is also tied for third in the MW in HBP (7), on-base percentage (0.450) and in sacrifice flies (3).
– Jacob Sharp is tied for second in the MW in sacrifice flies with four, is tied for fourth in fielding percentage (0.993) and in home runs (8), is tied for sixth in runs scored (38) and sits seventh in slugging percentage (.578).
– Rylan Charles is tied for first in the MW in HBP (9), is tied for fourth in stolen bases (8), sits fourth in at bats (174) and is tied for fifth in runs scored (40).
– Austin Kryszczuk leads the conference and is tied for 15th in the NCAA in sacrifice flies (6). Kryszczuk is also tied for fourth in the MW in walks (27).
– Paul Myro IV is tied for second in the conference in HBP (8) and in fielding double plays (31), he also ranks third in assists (130).
