Meanwhile, accelerated fan favorites like “Lunatic to Love” and “Tiki God” left their imprint on then-up and-comers, The Hives. In 2008, The Presidents of the United States of America delivered an inventive, uplifting and often brilliant rock and roll album with These Are The Good Times People. To this day, the band’s high energy shows continue to pack venues all over the world, selling out shows in London, Amsterdam, New York, Sydney and Seattle on its last world trek.

Fremont Street Experience’s Rock of Vegas summer concert series continues as JBL Presents: Summerland Tour 2013 – Alternative Guitars Starring Everclear, Live, Filter and Sponge makes its way to the 3rd Street Stage for a free concert on Saturday, June 29 at 9 p.m. The legendary downtown Las Vegas entertainment venue will transform into summer’s alternative destination through Labor Day weekend with a free concert series that showcases a stellar lineup of bands that take music to the edge.

Everclear
Founded in Portland, Ore. in 1992, Everclear independently released their debut album World of Noise. The band’s relentless touring regimen and D.I.Y. promotional tactics helped set to set the stage for the platinum-level breakthrough of 1995’s Sparkle and Fade, which spawned the hits “Santa Monica” and “Heroin Girl.” The band’s ascendancy continued with 1997’s So Much for the Afterglow, which produced the radio hits “Everything to Everyone,” “I Will Buy You A New Life,” and “Father of Mine.” In 2012 Everclear released their newest album “Invisible Stars” featuring new songs that embody the same qualities of punch, sturdy songcraft and edgy introspection that have long endeared Everclear to its large and loyal worldwide fan base.

Live
Live burst onto the burgeoning alternative scene in 1991, but it was their sophomore album Throwing Copper that solidified their status as bonafide superstars. The album featured hit songs “Lightning Crashes,” “All Over You,” and “I Alone.” The album reached #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and surpassed sales of 10 million in merely two years. Rolling Stone and MTV both dubbed the album “One of the 25 Greatest Rock Albums of All-Time”, while tastemakers from Spin to The New York Times lauded it with equal praise. Upon release, its 1997 follow-up Secret Samadhi immediately shot to #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and eventually went six-times platinum. However, on The Distance to Here in 1999, Live turned into an international powerhouse and jumped from arenas into stadiums all over the globe driven by the smash “The Dolphin’s Cry”. V and Birds of Pray followed, continuing to expand their legacy and satiate the rabid and faithful fan base that they had amassed over nearly two decades. Live’s music remains a pillar of the nineties both musically and culturally. The band infused heartfelt melodies with raw energy for an inimitable style that stood out from the early nineties pack.

Filter
Shoving a fist in the face of tradition has been Filter’s modus operandi since the release of their self-produced debut album, Short Bus. The album’s rough-around-the-edges production brought the group’s first hit single “Hey Man, Nice Shot” which peaked at #10 on Billboards Modern Rock Tracks. Their second album, Title of Record, featured hit song “Take a Picture” which has been featured in numerous motion pictures including The Girl Next Door, Saving Grace, Little Nicky and Pay it Forward. Filter’s sixth album, The Sun Comes Out will be released on June 4, 2013.

Sponge
Sponge has proven to be one of the Motor City’s heaviest hitters after gaining international notoriety with their debut album Rotting Piñata. Emerging from Detroit with hits like “Plowed” and “Molly (16 Candles)” Sponge received massive airplay on radio stations from coast to coast and were in heavy rotation on MTV. Both “Plowed” and “Molly” hit #5 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Charts, catapulting “Rotting Piñata” to Gold, and ultimately Platinum status. Sponge’s follow up CD, the critically lauded “Wax Ecstatic” (Columbia) scored additional top ten Billboard hits including “Wax Ecstatic” and “Have You Seen Mary?” The band’s music was also featured in popular movies The Craft, Chasing Amy, Mall Rats and Empire Records. Having shared stages the world over with Guns N’ Roses, Nickelback, Iggy Pop, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Kiss, to name just a few, Sponge continues to be one of rock’s most sought after live acts. Front man Vinnie Dombroski captivates audiences with his powerful voice, heart-on-his-sleeve lyrics and high-octane stage presence. In May of 2013 Sponge will release a highly anticipated new album Stop the Bleeding.

Static Jacks Announce Debut Album & Premiere New Song on FILTER

The Static Jacks Announce August 30th 2011 Release of Debut Full-Length Studio Album If You’re Young Through a Newly Inked Deal with Fearless Records & Premieres First new Song “Girl Parts” >From Debut with Filter Magazine Online

The Static Jacks Confirmed to Play Inaugural Escape to New York Festival on August 5th

New Jersey indie rockers The Static Jacks are thrilled to announce the August 30th release of the debut full-length studio album If You’re Young through a newly inked deal with Fearless Records as well as on their imprint Fenway Recordings/Nobody People. Produced and mixed by Chris Shaw (Weezer, Ted Leo), the 12-track album is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2009 EP Laces which earned them opening slots with The Futureheads & The Like, Biffy Clyro, Young the Giant, Titus Andronicus, and Tokyo Police Club among others. In conjunction with the album release announcement, the band is premiering a track off If You’re Young with Filter Magazine Online – http://filtermagazine.com/index.php/media/entry/mp3_the_static_jacks_their_girl_parts_filter_exclusive. “Girl Parts” is the first new track from the debut to post and it includes guest vocals by Ceci Gomez of Beast Make Bomb.

In anticipation of the upcoming debut release, The Static Jacks are also thrilled to be joining the inaugural Escape to New York festival on August 5th-7th which boasts headliners Patti Smith, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Best Coast. This music and cultural festival is the creation of Fred Fellowes and modeled after his Secret Garden Party in England which has grown to draw over 30,000 people a year and has featured such acts as Phoenix, Florence and the Machine and the xx among many others. Watch The Static Jacks perform at the Escape to New York festival in Southampton, NY on August 5th.

The Static Jacks, Ian Devaney (vocals), Henry Kaye (guitar), Michael Sue-Poi (guitar), and Nick Brennan (drums), grew up together in the suburbs of New Jersey crafting their initial sound through endless basement sessions and a deep study of past purveyors of punk. Shortly after their creation, they were impressing music insiders with their feverish energy, commanding vocals, and sing-a-long choruses and impressed a number of critics with their EP, landing them the NME Breakthrough Band of July 2010, Maxim Magazine’s SXSW 2010 Highlighted Artist, Deli Magazine’s Band of the Month, and a feature with traditionally electronic music focused RCRD LBL.

Now with a newly inked deal with Fearless Records, The Static Jacks are psyched to be gearing up for their debut full-length release later this summer. If You’re Young puts on no facades and the band delivers an honest, raw and melodic debut that is sure to win them countless new fans. Check out the premiere of “Girl Parts” out now at Filter Online and see the band live at the first ever Escape to New York festival this August.
