Nashville-based country music artist J.D. Shelburne was raised on a tobacco farm in Taylorsville, Kentucky, just outside of Louisville. When J.D. was 19, he found a guitar after the death of his grandmother. He quickly learned how to play it, and began writing and singing songs on his own. NF Hope Concert Celebrates 10 Years with Virtual Event on Oct. 18


2020 Event Goes Completely Virtual with Performances, Virtual Auction Prizes and “At Home” VIP Packages

Las Vegas’ most prominent entertainers, music lovers and philanthropists will once again join forces against neurofibromatosis at the 10th Annual NF Hope Concert.  In store for 2020, benefit organizers Jeff Leibow, formerly of “Jersey Boys,” and his wife Melody, have decided to embrace the needed trend of bringing their event to supporters virtually.  For the first time, people from all across the US can “attend” the Las Vegas NF Hope Concert on Sunday, Oct. 18 5-7 p.m. pacific time.  The concert can be viewed for free on the NF Hope Concert’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.    For 2020, guests can upgrade their experience with an “NF Hope Concert Watch Party” package, giving them a VIP experience in their living room with access to the show and dinner delivered from a popular local restaurant. Watch Party packages start at $125. The event benefits Neurofibromatosis Network, an organization dedicated to families and individuals suffering from Neurofibromatosis (NF).

Since the inaugural event in 2011, the “NF Hope Concert” has grown by leaps and bounds, with more than $900,000 raised for Neurofibromatosis research and advocacy and growing to three cities – Las Vegas, New York City and Chicago. 2020 hopes to bring the benefit show to more than $1 million raised in 10 years. “We know times in 2020 are challenging, but we owe it to our Neurofibromatosis warriors to keep raising awareness and much needed funds for research and advocacy,” said Melody Leibow.  Hosted by consummate emcee and top radio personality, Chet Buchanan, 2020’s NF Hope Concert features Clint Holmes, Ashley Fuller, John Bayless, Daniel Emmet, Elly Brown and more, along with Jeff and Melody Leibow with a special guest appearance by daughter Emma.

Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic disorder of the nervous system characterized by tumors that can grow on any nerve in the body without warning. Leibow’s young daughter, Emma, was diagnosed with this condition in 2010 when she was just nine months old. As Leibow and his wife, Melody, learned more about the disorder’s devastating effects, they conceived the idea for the concert with the realization that they had an obligation to both their family and the 128,000 people living with NF to educate others about the disorder. 2019 was a difficult year for the family with Emma undergoing the second of what will likely be five surgeries necessitated by a tumor in her leg.  Emma’s subsequent surgery was postponed due to travel concerns as a result of COVID. Although it is a common genetic disorder, most people are not aware that one in 2,500 people are born with it making it more common than cystic fibrosis, hereditary muscular dystrophy, Huntington’s disease, and Tay Sachs combined.

Every year, Emma supplies endless optimism and encouragement for Leibow and his wife, filling them with the inspiration needed to make this event a success. “Emma’s resiliency, especially during this pandemic, has been an incredible reminder that any challenge can be overcome,” said Jeff Leibow.  “And as we continue to face the challenges NF lays in our path, Emma’s strength and resiliency and the generosity of this community  not only fills us with hope, but also leaves us truly without words.”   Earlier this year, Emma was supposed to travel to LA for her next MRI (No. 20 in only 11 years of life) to monitor the growth of the massive tumor in her leg and the new brain tumor doctors discovered in 2018, but concerns about COVID (especially in LA) has postponed these necessary scans. “This year has brought a new layer to our concerns to Emma’s NF journey,” said Leibow, “and it is why we will reinvent and adapt however necessary to continue fighting for her and the NF community, and we won’t stop until there is a cure.”

Museums for All to Increase Accessibility of High-Quality Museum Learning Resources

 The Neon Museum announces it has joined Museums for All, a signature access program of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), administered by the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM), to encourage people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits. The program supports those receiving food assistance (SNAP) benefits to visit The Neon Museum for a minimal fee of $3 per person, up to four people per party, with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. Similar free and reduced admission is available to eligible members of the public at more than 500 museums across the country.

Museums for All is part of The Neon Museum’s broad commitment to seek, include, and welcome all audiences. Museums for All helps expand access to museums and also raise public awareness about how museums in the U.S. are reaching their entire communities. Premier Lifestyle Center Tivoli Village adds popular traveling attraction, Hole19 Miniature Golf Bar Pop-Up, to its growing list of retail, dining and entertainment experiences. The six-week pop-up experience with 1900s British flair will be available beginning Thursday, Sept. 24 through Nov. 1, located right at the center of Tivoli Village on the second floor at 420 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 240.

Part overgrown garden clubhouse and part boozy mini-golf course, Hole19 Las Vegas offers nine custom built holes on an indoor course carefully designed for friendly competition and group fun. The pop-up also boasts a full bar with themed hand-crafted cocktails, beer pong tables, Jenga, and a variety of other boardgames and video game consoles.

Guests are urged to make reservations at hole19bar.com. There are 24 tickets available per hour with staggered entry times. Walk-ins are welcome if there is availability. Tee off times can take place up to 45 minutes after the selected time slot. Hole19 Las Vegas is open Wednesdays for all ages and Thursday through Sunday for ages 21 years or older. Trapped is a one-of-a-kind Las Vegas drive in haunted experience opening October 8 and running through Halloween at The Industrial Event Space.  Created by top Las Vegas entertainment industry professionals and presented by Findlay Volkswagen and Wahoo’s, the show is designed to be experienced from the safety of guests’ cars.


Trapped is an innovative and unique attraction intended to thrill, amaze and scare while complying with current safety regulations.  Upon arrival, cars will be guided to a haunted pod where the action unfolds around the vehicle. Trapped tells the story of a desolate earth where governments have fallen and order has been replaced by chaos, hope by fear, life by death.  The journey is wrought with Hekuri conversion mobs, bombs, hostiles and deadly traps, all presented through state-of-the-art projection technology.  The spooky soundtrack will be available through each vehicle’s radio.


Trapped will be open on select nights October 8-24 from 7pm to midnight, October 26-29 from 7pm to 1am and October 30-31 from 7pm to 2am. Tickets are $54.99 per vehicle and must be purchased in advance to reserve your timeslot.


To ensure a safe and healthy experience for our staff and guests and in accordance with Nevada COVID-19 guidelines, the following safety protocols have been implemented:

HopeWeek runs from Sunday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Nov. 8 to celebrate the community and raise funds for those facing housing insecurities during the holidays. Additionally, HopeLink will kick-off Jammin’4 Hope on Nov. 8, a livestream concert telethon to continue raising funds while also supporting entertainment industry workers and the community at large struggling amidst COVID-19. Committed to providing continued housing relief to southern Nevada’s most vulnerable populations, HopeWeek encompasses a week of events dedicated to fundraising and thanking volunteers and donors. HopeLink is also accepting monetary donations of which 98 percent will go directly towards programs and services designed to help stabilize seniors and families in southern Nevada. On the last day, HopeLink will host a livestream telethon and party – Jammin’4 Hope – on Nov. 8 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Backstage Bar & Billiards and The Fremont Country Club, located on 601 Fremont Street in Las Vegas. The telethon will feature various musicians, entertainers, celebrities and athletes from around the Las Vegas area and throughout the country. The new event will culminate a week of community giving all focused on preventing homelessness throughout southern Nevada in addition to providing special support for the entertainment community members financially impacted during the pandemic. Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Garden’s Autumn display brings guests “Into The Woods” for an experience highlighted by a magical forest and its cast of floral creatures. The enchanted adventure is set in the heart of the world-famous Bellagio Resort & Casino.


As guests embark on their Bellagio Conservatory experience, they find themselves in the center of a forest featuring floral mushrooms, a canopy of oversized oak leaves, festive foliage and beautiful dragonflies dancing overhead. Envisioned by designer Ed Libby and Bellagio’s Horticulture team, the dazzling display is now open through November 28, 2020.

“Into The Woods is filled with inspirations of transformation, reflection and empowerment told through magnificent floral creations,” Libby said. “Our fall display has been months in the making from conceptualization and design and has been brought to life by the extraordinary horticulture team.”


Upon entering the Conservatory’s West Bed, guests are welcomed by a family of foxes playing deep in the forest beneath a magnificent, floral-embellished, hand-hewn tree house with colorful stained-glass dragonfly windows. A symbol of transformation and adaptability, the dragonfly also is featured on the ship’s head of the Botanical Bellagio sailboat which guides the foxes’ water journey through the forest.


In the North Garden, four enchanted fairies spend a fall afternoon beside a tranquil reflecting pond. Their woodland fairy house, built completely of botanical ingredients, features a roof constructed of oversized sunflowers and the same stained-glass windows used in the foxes’ treehouse. Each fairy is wearing an individually designed ball gown created out of colorful flowers and natural embellishments.


Creating a stunning pathway into the heart of the Bellagio Conservatory is a large hollow tree guiding guests deeper ‘into the woods.’ Atop the tree is a luxurious canopy of leaves with several dragonflies buzzing fancifully overhead. Colorful floral mushrooms accompany acorn-shaped lanterns as well as pumpkins and gourds of all shapes, colors and sizes.


Delighting guests on the final leg of their experience is Bellagio’s 28-foot-famed talking tree. The majestic tree provides shelter for a family of mischievous bears preparing for hibernation by sharing a bountiful pot of honey made by several honeybees. The bees, representing a sense of duty, wealth and prosperity, sit harmoniously with the bears in the South Bed as they prepare for their long winter nap.


The Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is complimentary to the public.

Health & Safety Measures

In order to create a comfortable and safer environment for our guests, the following Health & Safety measures have been implemented in how the Conservatory will be experienced:


  • All guests will enter The Conservatory through a dedicated entryway; floor markers and employees will guide guests through the correct path
  • The number of guests allowed within The Conservatory at one time will be closely monitored by operations and security; when the space reaches capacity, guests will queue (physically distanced) while they wait for their opportunity to enter
  • The Bellagio team stationed within The Conservatory will encourage guests to continue moving through the space and exit when they are done enjoying the space so more guests can be accommodated
  • A dedicated path has been created, and is identified with floor markers, indicating the path guests can take to explore The Conservatory
  • One path within The Conservatory will be maintained for guests accessing the restaurants that sit within the space to allow them direct access
