ROBERTO’S TACO SHOP OPENS AT UNIVERSITY GATEWAY ON MARYLAND PARKWAY

University Gateway, the pioneering mixed-use residential, retail and office project on Maryland Parkway adjacent to UNLV and developed by G2 Capital Development, announces the reopening of the original location of Roberto’s Taco Shop. The eatery, which first opened in 1990 at 1220 E. Harmon Ave. near UNLV, shuttered in January 2020 when its strip mall became slated for redevelopment by G2. Its new home, on the ground floor of the high-rise University Gateway building at 4700 S. Maryland Pkwy., is open 8 a.m. to midnight.

“We’re proud Roberto’s is now open at University Gateway,” said Frank J Marretti III, founder, G2 Capital Development. “Their iconic taco shop has been a fixture in the neighborhood for 30 years and makes a welcome addition to our mix of eclectic eateries and other amenities. I’m sure it will be a frequent destination for everyone who lives and works around the UNLV corridor.”

University Gateway’s first floor retail also houses Peet’s Coffee, eateries such as Crumbl Cookies and Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, the convenience of a branch of America First Credit Union and the soon-to-open Pizza Forte, Sushi Joes and the Brew Tea Bar, plus more retail shops to come.

The new self-guided Finger Licking Foodie Tour offers guests a fun and innovative way to support three top restaurants in the Las Vegas community, while enjoying an array of Instagrammable dishes in one outing. Each tour requires a minimum of just two patrons, so guests can safely dine with their closest family and loved ones.

With restaurant capacities limited due to public health restrictions and reservations at the hottest restaurants challenging, Finger Licking Foodie Tours provide immediate VIP seating with signature dishes served fresh, shortly after arrival. Tours are “led” by a virtual tour guide who provides a map of the route, interesting tidbits along the way and a guided walk through Downtown Container Park to support local small businesses.

“This tour provides an intimate and personalized foodie experience,” explains Contursi. “Guests receive an online map, as well as a link to an innovative virtual tour guide who provides commentary for each fascinating stop along the way including a walk through Downtown Container Park to support small businesses. On this 2.5-hour experience in the city’s exciting, revitalized downtown, guests will visit three acclaimed restaurants, enjoying superb service and three unforgettable dishes at each venue.”

Contursi founded Lip Smacking Foodie Tours five years ago to offer gourmet walking tours featuring prime-time dining and VIP service at the most exclusive restaurants. After quickly accumulating numerous accolades and repeat customers, he expanded on the concept with Finger Licking Foodie Tours, which was established in 2019 to provide a casual romp at affordable prices.

In addition to the self-guided tour, Finger Licking Foodie Tours offers two guided group tours: The Las Vegas Strip Foodie Tour provides a 2.5-hour afternoon experience leaving plenty of time for a night out on the town afterward. Guests visit four exciting stops on each tour, which combines sensational sight-seeing with craveable dishes. Each tour’s itinerary remains under wraps for maximum anticipation and surprise. Knowledgeable and charismatic local guides keep the atmosphere lively by spotlighting some of the most distinctive sights and fascinating facts along the way. Guests who opt for the Downtown Las Vegas Foodie Tour enjoy the same benefits while visiting four neighborhood restaurants run by local chefs who have made a name for themselves in the dynamic, art-filled, revitalized downtown.

Finger Licking Foodie Tours start at the accessible price point of just $79 per person and includes three restaurants and three dishes at every stop. Gratuity is included for each restaurant. Additionally, a 15 percent discount is offered to guests on beverages and additional menu items. Each tour is designed for singles, couples and groups of friends or families. Click here to make a reservation.

Guests may book the tour any time between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily. Tours are ideal for date night, birthday and anniversary celebrations. Gift certificates may be purchased for friends, loved ones and guests visiting from out of town and are available here.

HENDERSON-BASED EATERY, THE STOVE, DEVISES PLAN TO EMERGE FROM THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC FRI., MAY 15

HENDERSON-BASED EATERY, THE STOVE, DEVISES PLAN TO EMERGE FROM THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC FRI., MAY 15

The Stove will resume dine-in service beginning Fri., May 15 based on Governor Sisolak’s directives. The Henderson-based eatery has devised an in-depth plan that will be executed during a week-long staff orientation to ensure a safe environment for their patrons upon reopening.

“Instead of an abrupt re-opening, we have decided to take the next week to abide by the new laws and regulations delegated by the state of Nevada to ensure a safe environment for all of our guests upon their return to The Stove,” said Executive Chef and Part Owner Antonio Nunez. “We are closely following the Southern Nevada Health Department’s guidelines, and have devised a 10-step plan in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s policies, giving our guests peace of mind as soon as they walk through our doors.”

The Stove is taking all of the necessary steps required by government officials to re-open, including requiring staff to wear protective masks and gloves at all times, reducing occupancy by 50%, installing hand sanitizer dispensers at the entrance,  wiping down key touch points on a frequent basis, and implementing a temporary reservation-based dining model until returning to full occupancy.

Beyond the standard efforts outlined by the state government, The Stove is implementing a new air filtration system as well as a state-of-the-art disinfectant that binds powerful, germ-killing chlorine atoms on any surface or clothing material. The solution, known as Medecide™, will destroy many pathogens including the Coronavirus, and remains active on any surface for up to 28 days.

The main dining room, private dining room and tea room will be split up into three different sanctions, with partitions implemented in certain areas of each of the dining areas. All furniture will be removed from the lobby to avoid congregated wait areas as guests must remain at a safe distance to ensure safety measures. Use of the elevator will be limited to the elderly, disabled, and those with strollers. Restrooms will be closed for 30 minutes each day for sanitization purposes.

In addition to resuming dine-in operations, The Stove will continue to offer curbside pickup and will implement an in-house delivery system. Seniors that take advantage of curbside pickup or delivery will enjoy a buy-one-get-one offer on all entrées, and can take advantage of any specials that were previously implemented in 2020.

Reservations can be made by calling (702) 625-5216 beginning Wednesday, May 13th for the restaurant’s re-opening date on May 15th. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

ABOUT THE STOVE

The Stove features multi-dimensional design dining experiences by celebrity chef Scott Commings, celebrated Vegas Valley local chef, Antonio Nunez, and General Contractor Steve Grodkiewicz of Established Culinary Management. Leisurely lounging at the main bar overlooking the main dining room with a pastry bar sets the scene for the backdrop of the restaurant. The adjacent room has the feel of a speakeasy as you enter, but the setting of a Mad Hatter tea room with an edgy, one-of-a-kind twist to service. New to the restaurant’s offering is the Chambong (champagne-meets-bong) experience all set to breathtaking views of the Valley. Cousins New York Pizza & Pasta Celebrates Grand Opening

Family-Owned Pizzeria to Donate Pizzas to First Responders and Local Residents

In support of the local community during the COVID-19 crisis, Cousins will be donating more than 1,000 pizzas to front line heroes at surrounding hospitals and Las Vegas residents.

Weiss even drew a picture that he still has today. “We grew up with a love for New York-style pizza and pasta and have wanted to bring that to Las Vegas as long as I can remember,” said Weiss. “Now, all these years later, it’s a dream come true. With the timing, it’s also an opportunity to give back to Las Vegas – a city that has given so much to us.”

Half of the 1,000 free pizzas will be given away to healthcare workers at neighboring hospitals. The remaining 500 free pizzas will be given to Las Vegas local community

A fast-casual pizzeria, Cousins’ menu will offer fresh and flavorful Italian cuisine, including pizza, pasta, hero sandwiches and calzones – all steeped in New York tradition. Signature pizza selections will include traditional pepperoni; the Palermo topped with spicy salami, tomatoes, basil and eggplant; and Meat Lover’s with meatball, Canadian bacon, pepperoni and sausage. A keto pizza crust, made from cauliflower, will also be available for carb-conscious customers.

Entrées include baked ziti; fettuccine alfredo; chicken parmigiana; spaghetti and meatballs; calzones with a selection of fillings including ricotta cheese, meatballs, mushrooms, pepperoni and sausage; and a variety of hero sandwiches including chicken parmigiana, meatball and caprese.

An array of appetizers, including garlic knots, mozzarella sticks and chicken wings, are available along with fresh salads. Dessert selections will include NY cheesecake with fresh berries, tiramisu and cannoli with chocolate chips.

All selections are available for delivery and safe curbside pick-up by calling 702-333-0086. More information can be found by visiting CousinsNYPizzaandPasta.com and on social media at @CousinsPizzaLV.
