Spin 2 Win *JUST ADDED*

Play Spin 2 Win every Monday through Thursday throughout the entire month of July. Guests who earn 500 same day points on slots or 2,000 same day points on video poker can qualify to play Spin 2 Win. With a maximum of four spins a day, guest can win 2,500 points, 5,000 points, 10,000 points, 25,000 points, 50,000 points, or 100,000 points, or $5, $10, $25, $50 or $100 in free play.

Fully Loaded Flushes

On Fridays, South Point will host a Fully Loaded Flush progressive jackpot that will pay out when a player makes a seven-card flush of a particular suit in Texas Hold’em. Poker players have the chance to win one of four separate jackpots that will start at $500. Each jackpot will increase $250 each week that it is not hit.

Flush Rush

Monday through Thursday each week South Point will host a Flush Rush Promotion that will pay out $100 when a player makes an ace high flush, $500 for a straight flush and $1,250 for a royal flush if it is the designated suit of the day in Texas Hold’em. This promotion will be active from 12:00 am Monday morning until 11:59 on Thursday night.

High Hand of the Hour

Every Saturday and Sunday, South Point will pay out the highest hand that is made each hour. From 1 am to 12 pm, the payouts are $100 per hour. From 1 pm to 12 am, the payouts will be $200 per hour. Any hours that do not have a qualifier will have the money carried over to the next hour.

Bingo

50+ Prime Time Mondays *JUST ADDED*

Available all day every Monday, guests can play half-point bingo when using player points. Players can redeem vouchers for bingo at the Club Booth, and vouchers must be used the day of issuance. If unable to use, players can return it to the Club Booth and points will be reinstated to the player card. Not valid on holidays or during bingo special events. All redemptions require club card and photo ID and players must be 21 years of age or older. Management reserves all rights and can cancel promotion at any time.

Wish Ball Bingo *JUST ADDED*

Every Tuesday and Thursday in July at 1, 3, 7 and 9 p.m., South Point will host Wish Ball Bingo. Guests can win $1,000 if they get a bingo on B-7 or can win $500 with a bingo on any number ending in 7. Offer is not available on Tuesday, July 21.

South Point Bingo

Bingo games are available every Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and every Sunday at 1 and 3 p.m. Games include four $1,000 coveralls. Electronic players must purchase a 4-pack minimum to play.

Wine of the Month

Throughout July, Don Vito’s, Silverado Steak House and Zenshin will host a wine of the month special featuring bottles of wine for $20 per bottle. Guests can choose between Milbrandt Vineyards 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon and Milbrandt Vineyards 2018 Chardonnay. For each bottle sold, $1 will benefit local students through the Epicurean Charitable Foundation. Hearts Alive Village Animal Rescue Opens the First Nonprofit, Full-Service  Veterinary Clinic in Nevada

Hearts Alive Village Las Vegas (HAVLV) is opening a low-cost, high-quality veterinary clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada this fall. The full-service clinic located at 3250 N Decatur, will provide reasonably priced veterinary care to community animals as well as adoptable animals through the rescue and other nonprofit rescue organizations.

It is estimated roughly 140,000 people living with pets in the Las Vegas area struggle to meet the basic needs of their families. Too often, pet parents are forced to make a difficult decision. Faced with unreasonable veterinary bills, many owners will either have to let their pet suffer or euthanize them for a treatable condition. Some owners will surrender their pets to the shelter in the hopes that they will be cared for. Sadly, the outcome is often tragic for animals entering the shelter with an emergency medical condition.

Since day one, Hearts Alive Village has been focused on keeping pets in their original homes whenever possible. This is a concept called “community sheltering.” Through our pet food pantry, Kendall’s Kupboard, we provide food for approximately 1,000 families struggling financially. Over the last five years, Hearts Alive Village has received roughly 25 calls per week asking for assistance with medical costs. Though several outside veterinary clinics have generously worked with the organization to provide more affordable care, not having our own clinic has seriously limited the number of animals Hearts Alive Village can help. “No animal should ever suffer or be surrendered because of their parent’s inability to afford veterinary care,” said Executive Director Christy Stevens. “Every year, tens of thousands of animals find themselves in our valley’s shelters and rescues. This clinic will allow us to provide a more comprehensive solution for at-risk animals, preventing those pets from entering the system in the first place.”

The Pet Adoption and Wellness center is at the corner of Cheyenne and Decatur, strategically located to serve the population that needs it most. This 8393 square foot building is on .66 acres of land and is comprised of a full-service veterinary clinic, grooming facility, and boarding facility.

The Veterinary Clinic will provide:

  • Examinations
  • Vaccinations and other preventative care
  • Diagnostics including bloodwork, x-ray, and ultrasound
  • Spay and neuter
  • General surgery
  • Dental care
  • Basic dermatology
  • Geriatric care
  • Humane euthanasia
  • A certified fear free environment

The full-service grooming facilities include tables, baths, kennels, and dryers with accommodations for up to 2 groomers.  As an adoption center, 40 living spaces will provide certified fear free sheltering and rehabilitation for homeless dogs and cats and limited boarding for people and their pets experiencing a crisis.

There will be at least one full-time vet on staff along with certified vet technicians, veterinary assistants, animal care attendants, groomers, animal enrichment specialists, and an intake manager. A number of local for-profit veterinarians have offered their services pro-bono to assist at the clinic as well.

The clinic is not meant to be a competitor of for-profit veterinary clinics, but rather a resource for those who cannot afford to patronize them or are unable to qualify for credit. Clients will be pre-screened for financial need and services will be available to those meeting specific criteria. This will allow Hearts Alive Village to be a resource not only to the community, but to veterinary clinics unable to provide services at a discount.

Although our low costs will make care available to a wider population, there will still be pet owners who have no ability to pay. The Village Fund is a program used to provide free veterinary care for owners who are unable to afford even our low-cost services.  This funding will come from grants and community donations.

Community support will be essential to the clinic’s success and we have launched a Veterinary Equipment Drive to stock the clinic with everything from an Ultrasound machine to digital thermometers. Donors can select items to donate at: www.heartsalivevillage.shop

Opportunity Village has taken into consideration recommendations from the CDC, elected officials, and past participants regarding the 2020 Las Vegas Great Santa Run. The decision has been made to make the upcoming event a virtual run for the health and safety of participants.

 

The Las Vegas Great Santa Run returns for its 16th year in a brand-new format, virtual! Historically the largest single-day fundraising event for Opportunity Village, the organization and Las Vegas Great Santa Run officials took into account recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Governor , and ultimately decided a virtual race would be best for the health and safety of all involved. Mr. Claus penned an open letter to race officials, encouraging folks to stay involved with Opportunity Village and participate in their jolly race — not only to stay on his ‘nice’ list, but to also work off those impending holiday cookies. “Hard to social distance those delicious things with some cold milk,” Santa said.

 

Those interested in participating can register at www.LVSantaRun.com for just $30 beginning July 13th. Runners and walkers will receive a medal, downloadable bib, swag bag and Santa suit (while supplies last) and can complete a 5K or 1-mile course of their choosing from December 5 – 26, 2020. Registrants will have the option of picking up their packets as early as November 30th or can elect to have their packets mailed out during registration for a small fee. We encourage those participating to further support Opportunity Village by creating a fundraiser and having friends and family participate in the event with you.

 

Known as one of Las Vegas’ most jolly fun runs, the internationally recognized Las Vegas Great Santa Run raises funds and awareness for Opportunity Village’s programs and services, which provide unparalleled opportunities, enrichment and support to nearly 2,000 Southern Nevada residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Last year’s 15th annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run registered 6,644 Santa participants from all across the world, including six countries and 43 states. Southern Nevadans can receive 20 percent off admission to iconic amusement park

By demand, Circus Circus Las Vegas has extended its popular local discount through the end of July.

The iconic indoor 5-acre amusement park is now open to the public with hours of operation from 10 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. As part of the promotion, which launched in June, Southern Nevada locals with proof of ID are eligible to receive a 20 percent discount to the amusement park between 10 a.m. to Noon daily.

Amid current local and state regulations, the Adventuredome is committed to keeping its park clean, safe and fun for employees and guests. Capacity is currently reduced on all rides and attractions to allow for appropriate social distancing. All employees are required to wear facemasks, which is optional and encouraged for guests. Touchless hand sanitizers are also placed around the park and at each ticket booth, as cleaning teams are elevating normal routines of disinfecting all park elements.

Among its many attractions, Adventuredome guests are encouraged to visit the Carnival Midway where they can play a huge selection of games and win premium prizes.

Circus Circus reopened on June 4 following its temporary closure due to COVID-19 restrictions. When Circa Resort & Casino opens its doors in Downtown Las Vegas on October 28, it will debut Stadium Swim, a multi-level destination pool amphitheater operating 365 days a year that’s primed to become one of the most exciting pool experiences in the country. Overlooking both Downtown Las Vegas and The Strip, Stadium Swim’s bold design will house a massive screen for sports fans and sunseekers to catch games and entertainment of all kinds. The venue also will feature state-of-the-art Ultraviolet Light (UVL) sanitation and water-recirculation patterns, providing guests with the cleanest and healthiest public pool experience in Las Vegas.

“We’re building Stadium Swim to be unlike any pool in existence today and to reinvent the Vegas pool party, 365 days a year,” said Circa’s CEO Derek Stevens. “I can promise there will be no better location in the world to watch a big game than at Stadium Swim – even better than at the game itself. Beyond sports, it will be a great place to catch sun and listen to music, and I believe it will be a destination experience that inspires trips to Las Vegas.”

Serving as the backdrop of the multifunctional pool space, a 135 x 41-foot, 14-million-megapixel LED screen will broadcast major games and popular televised events. To keep the party going, local artists will helm Stadium Swim’s DJ booth with a daily roster of upbeat music. Additionally, two swim-up bars on the pool deck’s lower level will enable guests to order a beverage without leaving the water.

Designed by Steelman Partners, the multi-tiered outdoor amphitheater will boast six pools and two spas, with 15,756 square feet of wet space. Each body of water will be a different temperature ranging from 78 to 94 degrees depending on weather conditions. The fifth-level pools will be heated to a temperature of 104 degrees on colder days, providing guests with an après ski-like sensation, all while in the heart of the desert.

Poolside Accommodations

Guests can relax and unwind in an assortment of poolside lounge areas, including 30 cabanas and super cabanas hosting up to 25 guests. Approximately 340 chaise lounges, 38 day beds and eight poolside boxes will be offered for both hotel guests and visitors to rent. Enhanced VIP experiences will be available with tableside services including dedicated servers and towel refreshment, in addition to luxurious spaces with couches.

Cleanliness and Sanitation

As water cleanliness is a key priority for Stadium Swim, Circa’s team conducted in-depth research on the development of a pool that can self-clean several times a day. As a result, Stadium Swim’s water will be fully recirculated four to six times faster than required by codes. While typical pool filters are filled with sand, Stadium Swim’s will use an activated material that is 100 percent bio-resistant and self-sterilizing glass material. This will allow for a greater surface cleaning area, resulting in clearer and healthier water that is two times more effective than if sand was used.

All eight water bodies will have UVL sanitizers, which are technologically advanced devices designed to destroy pathogens, bacteria, viruses, organic and inorganic contaminants, and greatly reduce chlorine use. Additionally, the pools will have highly sophisticated and real-time chemical monitoring controllers in place to continuously analyze the composition of all pool and spa water, second by second. Automated chlorine and chemical-dispensing systems will instantaneously adjust water chemistry throughout the day.

STO Design Group, Inc., Circa’s pool consultant, stated, ”Circa has adopted by far the fastest recirculation times of any pool in Las Vegas, and hasnvested in the most effective filter, continuous UV light treatment of all systems, top-of-the-line water chemistry analyzers and chemical feed systems. Together, this will deliver the cleanest and most sustainable pool water in the city.”

Food & Drink

Stadium Swim will serve up poolside fare through a collaboration between famed Michigan restaurateurs Paul Saginaw, Chris Sotiropoulos and Grace Keros.

Together, Paul, Chris and Grace will bring pool-goers a selection of elevated poolside bites, with menu highlights such as lobster corndogs with yuzu dipping sauce, fruit nachos, the Stadium Dog (Circa’s twist to a Sonoran Dog), and classic favorites.  Table service will be top notch, with faster delivery times thanks to the use of mobile tablets that send orders immediately to the kitchen or bar.

Saginaw is known worldwide for Zingerman’s Deli, which is consistently ranked among the world’s best sandwich joints. Keros and Sotiropoulos are the third-generation owners of Detroit’s iconic 103-year-old American Coney Island, which made its mark on American history when it invented the Coney Dog. Both will open original concepts at Circa this fall – Saginaw’s Delicatessen and Victory Burger & Wings Co., respectively.

Along with Circa, guests 21 and older staying at Stevens’ sister properties – the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino – will be able to access Stadium Swim for free and can enjoy the venue one hour before it opens to the public.

Stadium Swim will be open seven days a week, excluding closures for special or private events. For guests not staying at the hotel, there will be a fee for entrance. Lounge chairs will be available to rent in two- or four-hour increments. Daybeds/cabanas will be sold with a food and beverage minimum and can be reserved all day. FERRARO’S INVITES WINE LOVERS ON A VIRTUAL WINE TOUR OF ITALY WITH WINE COURSE BEGINNING AUG. 1

Five Classes, Two Hours Each, Taught by Gold Pin Sommelier, Master of Professional Wine Tasting Carmelo Messina 

 

 Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar invites guests to a take a trip across the ocean and back in time with a five-week Italian wine course, taking place on Saturdays from Aug. 1 through Sept. 5 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Carmelo Messina, Gold Pin Sommelier and Master of Professional Wine Tasting certified by the Italian Sommelier Association, will conduct the course.

Each class will consist of a lecture on topics of the day and a second part that will include wine tastings. The wine course itself is limited to 25 students. Topics to be covered include:

  • Tasting grid, how to taste wine step-by-step and identify primary, secondary and tertiary flavors
  • Geography and history of winemaking
  • Introduction to terroir and its relation to soil and climate
  • Differences between Italian and domestic wines
  • Wine culture and much more

The final class will focus on the art and science of food-and-wine pairing and will include paired dishes, similar to the format of Ferraro’s Taste and Learn events.

For more than 20 years, Messina has built a reputation as an Italian wine expert, working in hospitality and wine distribution between Italy, England and the United States. In Las Vegas, Messina worked for acclaimed restaurants on and off the Strip before moving into wine sales and education for major distributors.

THE NEON MUSEUM OFFERS NEW 360 VIRTUAL TOUR

Virtual Visitors Enjoy 360-degree Views from 130 Vantage Points

The Neon Museum announces it now offers a 360 Virtual Tour, allowing visitors to “move” freely throughout the Neon Boneyard’s sign collection, exploring more than 130 informational hotspots.

The 360 Virtual Tour launches with an Evening Glow experience as guests tour the museum at night while the signage is illuminated. Once guests enter the museum via the virtual tour, a welcome video provides details and instruction on how to navigate the Neon Boneyard. By clicking the white circles along the museum’s pathways, or by using the arrow keys, guests may freely explore the Boneyard, navigating from sign to sign while enjoying 360-degree vantage points at every stop.

The red, blue and yellow hotspots on the museum signs denote opportunities to learn more, either via pop-up text, photographs or video. By hovering on a red hotspot, guests will open a YouTube video with audio featuring a short Neon Museum Gallery Talk or documentary. Hovering over a blue hotspot allows guests to open a written description that includes either historical information or fun facts. Meanwhile, yellow hotspots allow guests to view historical photos from the museum’s archival collection.

Tour signage highlights include:

  • The Hard Rock Café Guitar – Guests may watch a 27-minute documentary called “Strings of Neon” about the restoration project and its journey to the Neon Boneyard.
  • Select artworks from the 2019-2020 exhibition of Lost Vegas: Tim Burton @ The Neon Museum remain in the Boneyard for ongoing exhibition. Guests may read about the history of these signs and fun facts.
  • The recent relamping of the Stardust letters can be viewed on the virtual tour. Guests may enjoy reading about the history of the sign and why the letters take on a futuristic shape.

This summer,  Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar offers a way to travel the flavors of Italy without leaving Las Vegas with its Summer Regional Menu Series. The annual St. Jude Heart of Fashion event, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, transitioned to a virtual experience on Friday, June 19, streaming live on Facebook and featured St. Jude mission moments, guest speakers, live auction and more.

Leading up to the virtual experience, local influencers, including Michael Godard, Bark-Andre Furry, Ricardo Laguna, amongst others, “walked the runway” in their homes for a virtual fashion week, encouraging their followers to become supporters of St. Jude.

The virtual experience included an exclusive fashion show by luxury retailer Chloe, remarks by Wayne Sermon, lead guitarist with the Imagine Dragons and local St. Jude patient families. The event raised over $135,000 for St. Jude, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Thanks to the generous donors who participated in this virtual event, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. July Cocktail Special: Clara Bow

  • Description: Clara Bow was a popular 1920s actress and flapper whose look influenced a generation of young women. In honor of her birthday, the Museum is featuring the Clara Bow cocktail, a mix of bourbon, lemon juice, elderflower liquor and grenadine. The cocktail is available all day in The Underground for $12.

Operation Summer Camp

  • Date: July 6 to July 31
  • Time: From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m.

  • Description: “Operation Summer Camp” is a live, Museum educator-directed virtual program offered as daily, 3-hour Zoom sessions plus additional activities to be completed at the campers’ leisure. Campers’ days will include icebreaker activities, small-group sessions, videos, light physical activity, experiments, special guest experts as well as self-motivated activities designed to be completed throughout the week. The Mob Museum is offering two camps targeting different age groups:
    • “Operation Investigation” is appropriate for campers age 10 through 14 years old where activities each day will focus on a different topic, including how to build a case by collecting evidence, analyzing DNA, fingerprint examination, trace evidence collection, witness interrogation and more.
    • “Operation: Forensic Science” is recommended for campers 12 through 16 years old. Each day will focus on a different topic, including crime scene investigation, death investigation, fingerprint analysis, firearm and bullet examination, DNA analysis and more.

Special Agent Kit for Operation Summer Camp

  • Description: The activity kits are designed for participants to complete on their own time. Every kit includes videos, online scavenger hunts, instructions for science experiments and more, as well as weekly optional virtual check-ins with educators and other campers to review their kits and projects. The kit, recommended for ages 10 and up, includes two activities for campers to complete each day, such as videos, online scavenger hunts, instructions for science experiments and other fun activities. Educational topics covered in this kit include crime scene investigation, fingerprinting, DNA analysis, undercover police work and more. Virtual Community Safety Forum: The Science of COVID-19

  • Description: In the ninth installment of The Mob Museum’s community safety forum virtual series, the discussion will focus on the unique challenges Las Vegas faces while responding to COVID-19. Local epidemiologist Brian Labus explains why experts decided to shut down the Las Vegas Strip and instead stress social distancing guidelines. The forum will also cover the prospects for therapeutic medicines and vaccines, and what it’s like to work on an outbreak of this scale. This event is sponsored by NV Energy.

Untangling the Web: The Kennedys, the Mob and Las Vegas

  • Location: In the Historic Courtroom.

  • Description: For brothers John and Robert Kennedy, the connections to Las Vegas ranged from sex to politics, including a government investigation threatening to shut down the city. Las Vegas historian Michael Green will explore the complex historical webs linking the Kennedy family, organized crime and local politicians.
