The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Honors Firefighters Battling Wildfires With Special Room Offer

THE COSMOPOLITAN OF LAS VEGAS HONORS FIREFIGHTERS BATTLING WILDFIRES WITH SPECIAL ROOM OFFER; PLEDGES AN INITIAL $250,000 TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION INITIATIVES AND ANNOUNCES THIRD QUARTER CHARITABLE GIVING AMOUNTS

Recently named one of America’s Best Employers by Forbes Magazine, The Cosmopolitan remains steadfast in its charitable commitment and expands efforts for diversity and inclusion initiatives

HONORING FIRST RESPONDERS

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has expanded its first responders offer to firefighters who have recently battled wildfires in the Western United States. Firefighters, along with medical professionals, can access 25% off of their room reservation until December 31, 2020 for stays through January 5, 2021. To book, contact Room Reservations at 855.435.0005.

GIVING MODULE UPDATE: THIRD QUARTER DONATIONS

The Cosmopolitan is proud to share donation amounts from its first-to-market Giving Module for the third quarter. Through the months of July, August and September, The Cosmopolitan and its guests have garnered more than $16,286 for local charitable partners from more than 69,500 donation transactions. Fourth quarter initiatives can be found below and are centered on diversity, inclusion and first responders.

SUSTAINABILITY

Over the past six years, The Cosmopolitan has decreased energy consumption by 18%, yielding $1.8 million in savings. These efforts to create a more sustainable resort and casino operation also include food scrap recycling, waste sorting, collection of compostable materials, a transition to LED lightbulbs, supplying straws by request only at bars and lounges, an increased use of bamboo products, various repurposing measures, investing and encouraging the use of digital capabilities in lieu of paper and more.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has announced a pledge of $250,000 to expand its Diversity and Inclusion Program and support local nonprofit organizations. The funds will be allocated in the coming months across new CoStar (employee) diversity training resources, monetary donations to nonprofit organizations, and a sizeable commitment to the Hannah Brown Community Development Corporation Scholarship Fund.

The Hannah Brown CDC, in partnership with local partners like The Cosmopolitan, provides access to scholarships, advocacy programs and leadership resources to underserved minority youth and young adults in Las Vegas. The Cosmopolitan’s donation to the Hannah Brown CDC Scholarship Fund will help further the organization’s mission to empower local youth by improving economic and educational opportunities for students in need. Currently, the resort continues to work alongside Diversity Best Practices, a renowned organization for executive diversity thought leaders, and in partnership with Western Regional Minority Supplier Development Council to seek out minority-owned vendor partners, and to develop innovative solutions for continual culture change within the community.

This charitable pledge comes on the heels of the resort-casino donating $250,000 in pallets of food to local charities and foodbanks over the closure earlier this year, as well as the ongoing pledge to match up to $10,000 of all Giving Module donations each quarter. Through The Cosmopolitan’s Giving Module, guests and visitors are encouraged to donate their spare change when redeeming slot ticket vouchers at kiosks on the casino floor. Since launching in July 2019, The Cosmopolitan, and its guests, have donated more than $82,000 to local charitable partners with the help of more than 230,000 donation transactions. The resort saw an astonishing increase in donations in August compared to July 2020, where 20 percent of all ticket vouchers redeemed at kiosks resulted in a charitable donation. The 50 percent increase in these transactions between July and August amassed $6,620.88 donated.

Moving into the fourth quarter, The Cosmopolitan has selected organizations that support diversity, inclusivity and first responders to its beneficiary partners list. The new charitable beneficiaries include: 100 Black Men and The Boys and Girls Club, to support both organizations’ ever-present influence and work with minority youth in local schools; Bunker Labs, providing assistance to veterans in starting and growing their own businesses. The organization opened their Las Vegas Chapter this month; and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation, a local first responders’ organization that works in tandem with LVMPD to ensure our community’s safety. The four new charities were implemented into The Cosmopolitan’s Giving Module on Thursday, Oct. 1.

“As a resort, we pledge our commitment towards the social injustice issues that continue to plague our nation. While we are proud of our ongoing charitable efforts, it is our goal that The Cosmopolitan’s quarter of a million dollars in aid and donation efforts will provide the resources needed to further assist our CoStars and our community, bettering the lives of many in need through education, awareness, support and direct monetary giving efforts,” said Daniel Espino, Chief People Officer at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. “We can, and always will, do more.”

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, recently named one of America’s Best Employers by Forbes Magazine, is on track to compete with its past yearly monetary donations, $1.6 million in 2018 and $1.7 million in 2019, through a culmination of efforts to support causes focused on the military and veteran community, diversity and inclusion, physical and intellectual health, learning and student enrichment, and food and hunger relief. In line with these efforts, The Cosmopolitan scored 100 percent on Human Rights Campaign “Best Places to Work” for its eighth consecutive year in 2020.

Nikodemus said, “Las Vegas visitors love the optionality The Strip represents, whether it be in hotels, shows, nightlife or restaurants. We believe the choice of a smoke-free casino will be very attractive to a segment of our visitor base.”

Park MGM and NoMad are reopening with the following amenities:

  • Eataly Las Vegas: Eataly’s acclaimed Italian marketplace reopens with its handmade regional specialties available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The venue offers select walk-up and sit-down venues making fresh pizzas, pastas and sandwiches, in addition to a retail destination with hard-to-find Italian products.
  • Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar: Restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff’s Bavette’s Steakhouse transforms the time-honored steakhouse with a dash of French flair such as multi-tiered seafood towers, dry-aged bone-in ribeyes and zestfully seasoned lamb chops, all mouthwateringly prepared and impeccably served. Glowing chandeliers, sultry jazz and classic cocktails welcome guests to an intimate dining experience paying homage to Gilded Age opulence.
  • The NoMad Bar: Inspired by the old theaters of Paris, The NoMad Bar is a casual cocktail and dining venue reminiscent of the famed New York City destination. Open Thursday through Sunday evenings, the Bar offers an eclectic menu of bar classics, NoMad signature dishes and more.
  • BetMGM Sportsbar & Book: The ultimate sports-watching destination transports guests to their favorite neighborhood hangout while delivering the perks of a major Las Vegas sportsbook. Among the duckpin bowling lanes and billiards games, guests are treated to elevated gameday cuisine and an expansive beer selection. Sports bets can be placed in person or from the BetMGM mobile app.
  • Primrose: Primrose is a South of France-inspired restaurant featuring approachable breakfast and lunch menus filled with fresh produce, with an emphasis on open-fire cooking. Located steps away from Park MGM’s lobby, Primrose reveals a series of rooms in a country house leading to a lush garden and terraced patio for al fresco dining.
  • Juniper Cocktail Lounge: With the largest selection of gin in Vegas, Juniper Cocktail Lounge stretches guests’ perception of the familiar at this stylish venue exploring the endless possibilities of classic cocktails – whether gin-based or otherwise. The mixology destination challenges the status quo of mainstay drinks while staying true to the foundation of what makes a great cocktail.
  • Pool & Spa: Park MGM’s pool oasis returns with its full pool bar and a select number of cabanas available for rent. The Spa at Park MGM also is opening with limited hours.
  • Art Collection: Curated by Parisian studio be-poles, Park MGM’s world-class art program of collected and commissioned works spans every area of the resort — from the lobby to each guest room. Woven throughout the property, the diverse collection features artists such as Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, Henrique Oliveira, Shoja Azari and Shahram Karimi.

Days and hours of operation at all venues will vary. For a full listing of available amenities, please visit mgmresorts.com. Complimentary self-parking is available for guests; valet parking is not operational at this time.

With health and safety as the priority, Park MGM and NoMad are operating within MGM Resorts’ Seven-Point Safety Plan, a multi-layered set of protocols and procedures designed in conjunction with medical and scientific experts to mitigate the spread of the virus, protect customers and employees and rapidly respond to potential new cases. The full plan can be reviewed at mgmresorts.com. The company continues to evaluate and evolve its safety protocols.

Plaza Hotel & Casino commemorates Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October

Plaza Hotel & Casino commemorates Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October

Led by its CEO, Jonathan Jossel, the Plaza Hotel & Casino will commemorate October as Breast Cancer Awareness month with special offers at Oscar’s and in its bingo room, the only one in downtown Las Vegas, all to benefit the American Cancer Society (ACS).

Supporting breast cancer research is personal for Jossel, whose mother is a breast cancer survivor of more than 15 years. Jossel is one of 25 local leaders raising money for the ACS Real Men Wear Pink campaign to support ACS’ mission and save lives from breast cancer through early detection and prevention, innovative breast cancer research, and patient support.

“I have known too many people affected by cancer, including friends, coworkers and even my own mother. That is why raising awareness for breast cancer research, patient support services, and prevention programs is so important to me,” said Jossel. “I am proud to be part of the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign and to create fun offers in Oscar’s and the bingo room in October that will raise additional awareness and funds to directly benefit the mission of ACS.”

Oscar’s, an award-wining vintage Vegas steakhouse inside the Plaza’s iconic glass dome, will donate $3 to ACS for every cosmopolitan cocktail purchased in the lounge or dining room during the month of October. Oscar’s is currently open Thursday through Sunday, 5 to 10 p.m. and offers happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Plaza’s bingo room, which has six daily bingo sessions, will sell commemorative pink capped daubers featuring various cancer awareness ribbons for $5 with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to ACS.

BetMGM Named First Official Sports Betting Partner of Las Vegas Raiders

BetMGM Named First Official Sports Betting Partner of Las Vegas Raiders

Expansion of Existing Partnership between MGM Resorts and Raiders franchise

BetMGM, the joint venture between MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) and GVC International (LSE: GVC), and the Las Vegas Raiders announced today that BetMGM is now An Official Sports Betting Partner of the Raiders. The partnership is an extension of an existing multi-year partnership with MGM Resorts and the Raiders.

“We are pleased to add BetMGM to the MGM Resorts partnership portfolio,” said Raiders President Marc Badain. “The addition of BetMGM will open new levels of engagement for Raiders fans and guests of Allegiant Stadium.”

As an Official Sports Betting Partner of the Raiders, BetMGM will utilize assets to provide educational information about the BetMGM app to Raiders fans. Sports fans in Nevada can now register for the BetMGM app, available on iOS and Android, by visiting any MGM Resorts Sports Book in Las Vegas.

“We’re thrilled that BetMGM is the first Official Sports Betting Partner of The Las Vegas Raiders,” said BetMGM’s CEO Adam Greenblatt. “This new partnership complements what is already a wonderful and rewarding relationship with MGM Resorts and the Raiders and we look forward to introducing Raiders fans to the excitement of sports betting with BetMGM.”

Along with being An Official Gaming Partner of the Raiders, MGM Resorts is a Founding Partner of Allegiant Stadium and has prominent branding throughout the stadium, including in-stadium signage and an MGM Resorts VIP entrance on the west side of the building. The venue also features a private MGM Club that will offer Raiders fans an ultra-exclusive game-viewing experience with a full-service premium bar, luxury lounge and upgraded stadium seating. Additionally, MGM Resorts is the presenting sponsor of the Raiders first-ever regular season game at Allegiant Stadium on Sept. 21.

MGM Resorts CEO and President Bill Hornbuckle said, “All of us at MGM Resorts are proud to welcome the Raiders and the NFL to Las Vegas. We look forward to providing Raiders fans a world-class sports betting and entertainment experience, both in our BetMGM Sportsbooks and digitally, through the BetMGM mobile app.”

Since partnering in January 2020, MGM Resorts and the Raiders have been committed to collaborating on community outreach programs benefiting Southern Nevada.

As MGM Resorts and BetMGM continue to expand and evolve their sports betting and other gaming platforms, responsible gaming education remains a key focus. GameSense is an industry-leading program, developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), focusing on positive, transparent and proactive conversations with players about how to gamble responsibly. The program comes alive through personal interactions between guests and trained staff based at the M life Rewards desk at each MGM Resorts property. In addition to speaking to trained employees – known as GameSense Advisors – guests also utilize interactive GameSense touchscreens and educational materials and other resources found at the M life Rewards Desk.

Legends Global Partnerships represented the Raiders to secure the partnership with MGM Resorts International as a part of their duties as the stadium’s official premium ticketing and sponsorships agency.

Her luck at Fremont wasn’t finished, though – while waiting to be paid on her huge win, Louise hit a second jackpot of more than $5,000 on a nearby machine.

Downtown Las Vegas’ famous Dancing Dealers are about to make their mark at Circa Resort & Casino, opening October 28. The new integrated casino-resort will host a reservations-only audition for high-energy Go-Go dancers, no dealing experience necessary, on Wednesday, September 16 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center.

Circa is looking to recruit Dancing Dealers for its highly anticipated two-story casino. Interested applicants are invited to complete a short interest form online by clicking “Apply” at www.circalasvegas.com/dancing-dealers. Once the form is completed, Circa will be in touch to schedule an audition time.

Go-Go dancing attire or a bikini should be worn for auditions, and masks are required. Applicants must be 21 or over to audition and social distancing will be enforced. Once hired, a four to six-week training program will be provided.

Circa Resort & Casino will be Downtown Las Vegas’ first ground-up casino resort since 1980. The 1.25 million square foot integrated property will feature the world’s largest sportsbook, a dynamic pool amphitheater, stylish rooms and suites, a collection of original restaurant and bar concepts and more.
