The Grinch is Coming to Steal Christmas in Las Vegas!

THE GRINCH IS COMING TO STEAL CHRISTMAS
IN LAS VEGAS!

Broadway’s #1 Holiday Hit Comes to The Smith Center Nov. 26 – Dec. 1

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present the Las Vegas premiere of Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical inside Reynolds Hall from Nov. 26 – Dec. 1, 2019, including a sensory-friendly performance on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. Hailed by The New York Times as “100 times better than any bedtime story,” this classic holiday musical will enchant adults and children alike. Tickets starting at $30 are on sale now at TheSmithCenter.com.

THE GRINCH broke box office records for two consecutive years on Broadway during its holiday engagements at the St. James and Hilton theaters in New York. More than 2.1 million theater-goers across America have been delighted by this heartwarming holiday musical, which the Gannett papers hailed as “A genius of a show! A total delight for both kids and adults.”

Audiences will discover the magic of Dr. Seuss’ classic holiday tale as it comes to life live on stage. Featuring the hit songs “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas,” THE GRINCH discovers there’s more to Christmas than he bargained for in this heart-warming holiday classic. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming GRINCH, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” decides to steal Christmas away from the holiday-loving Whos.

Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical features magnificent sets designed by John Lee Beatty and costumes designed by Robert Morgan, inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original book. Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason’s music and book breathe new life into this timeless story.

The 2019 production is directed by Matt August and choreographed by Bob Richard, based on the original choreography by John DeLuca and originally created by three-time Tony Award®-winning director, Jack O’Brien.

The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort

Saturday Jan. 25, 2020 at 8 p.m.

Tickets on sale – Friday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m.

TYLER HENRY – HOLLYWOOD MEDIUM – brings his live tour – “An Evening of Hope, Healing and Closure” to the intimate Pearl Theater inside Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at 8 p.m.

Growing up in a small town in central California, Tyler began receiving intuitive mental images when he was only 10 years old with the foretelling of his grandmother’s death. Intimate communication with a deceased loved one evolved into “reading” classmates, and Tyler soon found himself the victim of schoolyard bullying. Between speaking to the dead and predicting people’s futures, and juggling math homework and gym class, life for a teenage medium in a small town became anything but easy. After a series of life-changing events -including a near-death experience -Tyler recognized that his passion, calling and life purpose was to bring clarity and closure to those he was privileged to read.

Word of his talents spread so quickly that 23 year-old Tyler relocated to Los Angeles and now stars in the mega hit TV series “Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry” on E! Television Network.  In each episode, the young medium sits down and has one-on–one readings with top celebrities. His celebrity list grows everyday including: Sophia Vergara, Howie Mandel, Ellen DeGeneres Jim Parsons, Eva Longoria, Allison Janney, Chrissy Metz, Kris Jenner, Bobby Brown, Portia de Rossi, Mel B, Lil’ Kim, Dr. Drew, Ru Paul, Khole and Kim Kardashian, Jamie Pressley, Megan Fox, so many more. Tyler has also added ‘best-selling author’ to his impressive resume when his first book was released. Between Two Worlds, a memoir about his journey both in Hollywood and as a medium thus far, has been published in hardcover, paperback and eBook by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

Tickets for Tyler Henry – Hollywood Medium are $39.95, $49.95, $69.95, $119.95 and $249.95 (front row), plus applicable fees and go on sale Friday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. and guests under 21 must be accompanied by an adult. Once Upon an Escape Offers Halloween Specials, Events and Charitable Promotions
Fairy Tale Themed Escape Rooms benefit American Cancer Society Nevada, For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Once Upon an Escape, an immersive, enchanting experience, announces the grand opening of its fairytale-themed escape rooms this August. Players have 60 minutes to decipher clues, solve riddles and escape before the clock runs out in four adventurous rooms:  Neverland, Once Upon A Time, 7 Dwarfs & Arabian Nights, plus a five-minute power room, Rumplestiltskin

In the month of October, Once Upon An Escape, is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as well as Halloween with ticket specials, when purchased online. Every time a guest enters the code ‘CURE2019’ at checkout; $2 off of every full price ticket purchased will go to the local American Cancer Society Nevada to help fight breast cancer.

Once Upon an Escape is also hosting the annual Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch Children’s Costume Contest, located next to Boca Park, on October 19 at 7:30pm. The first 15 children who enter will get free admission to the patch, as well as the winners in the scariest, cutest and creative costume categories will receive free passes to the fairy tale themed escape rooms. Additionally, room tickets from dates, October 25 – 31, will be discounted $3 when escape enthusiasts use the code ‘HALLOWEENMAGIC’ at the online checkout.

Aimed for adult fun, the rooms are age appropriate for ages 14+ (children are welcome with adult supervision) and ideal for both beginner and skilled escape enthusiasts.  The physically and mentally challenging rooms “lock” guests in a heavily themed room and the guests will use elements of the room to complete specified tasks within a set time limit.

The escape rooms were designed, built and are owned by the newlywed couple, often referred to as the “Charming Family,” Justice Carey and Kendra Daniels, reigning Miss Fabulous Las Vegas and popular Las Vegas vocalist.

“I have always loved fairytales, and my husband and I are escape-room enthusiasts, so it is exciting to pair the two, and see our project come to life!” says Kendra Daniels, founder of Once Upon an Escape. “My family and I are excited to introduce this fairytale-themed escape room experience to the community!

Each private room is suitable for 2-6 players, is priced at $37/person, and features discounts for locals and military. In addition to the adventurous rooms, Rumplestiltskin is a power room in which you have 5 minutes, 5 clues and is only $5 per person.

Once Upon an Escape is also a fun, creative way to integrate corporate team building, as it enhances problem-solving skills, increases communication, and motivates team members. Escape rooms can help foster respectful dialogue, a creative exchange of ideas, and encourage active listening.

The five themed fairy tale escape rooms include:

Neverland:
With a dash of pixie dust, soar through the London sky! Sneak up on Captain Hook’s ship and venture into the seemingly enchanting world of Neverland. But once there, you’ll need to save Wendy from the Lost Boys’ unruly grip! The clock is ticking. Outwit the crocodile and make your escape from the place where you never have to grow up!

Once Upon a Time:
It seems as though Rumplestiltskin has stolen the fairytale artifacts. You must recover the artifacts and place them on the correct pedestals-if you are to escape the room in time. But beware-things are not always as they appear!

7 Dwarfs: The fairest one is in dire need! You must help the Seven Dwarfs undo the evil and bring back to life the fairest in the land! But be quick, before she’s gone forever!
Arabian Nights: In a far-off land, buried deep within a cave, lies a magic lamp capable of granting your every desire. But be warned! Once you have entered, attempting to leave without the lamp will result in your demise! Do you have what it takes to follow in the footsteps of the King of Thieves? Find the magic lamp and make your escape in time!

Rumplestiltskin:
Five Dollars-Five Minutes-Five Clues! Can you handle the POWER Room? Rumplestiltskin is his name. The mystery at hand is his game. Solve the clues within for your enchanted life to begin! Will you escape in time or end up entrapped by his rhyme?

The End.

About Black Christmas
Just in time for the holidays comes a timely take on a cult horror classic as a campus killer comes to face a formidable group of friends in sisterhood.

Hawthorne College is quieting down for the holidays. But as Riley Stone (Imogen Poots) and her Mu Kappa Epsilon sisters—athlete Marty (Lily Donoghue), rebel Kris (Aleyse Shannon), and foodie Jesse (Brittany O’Grady)—prepare to deck the halls with a series of seasonal parties, a black-masked stalker begins killing sorority women one by one.

As the body count rises, Riley and her squad start to question whether they can trust any man, including Marty’s beta-male boyfriend (Simon Mead), Riley’s new crush (Caleb Eberhardt) or even their esteemed classics professor (Cary Elwes). Whoever the killer is, he’s about to discover that this generation’s young women aren’t about to be anybody’s victims.

From director Sophia Takal (Always Shine) from the script she wrote with April Wolfe (Widower), comes a bold new take on the 1974 slasher classic produced by Jason Blum (Halloween, Split) for his Blumhouse Productions, by Ben Cosgrove (The Good German, Rumor Has It) and by Adam Hendricks (Cam, Bloodline, Lucky) for Divide/Conquer. Blumhouse’s Couper Samuelson and Jeanette Volturno will executive produce with Divide/Conquer’s Greg Gilreath and Zac Locke.

DOUBLE DARE LIVE!

ANNOUNCES HOST MARC SUMMERS’ FAREWELL TOUR
Catch the Legendary TV Host in Action One Last Time
at The Smith Center on Oct. 20

Following more than three decades at the helm of Double Dare’s slime-soaked shenanigans, Charlie Blum Entertainment / CB Entertainment and Red Tail Productions LLC, in partnership with Nickelodeon are happy – and a bit sad – to announce that the show’s legendary host, Marc Summers, will be saying goodbye to Double Dare and its live tour at the end of this year, marking the conclusion of thousands of pies, numerous chocolate-covered chickens and of course, tons of slime!

Double Dare Live! will play The Smith Center in Las Vegas on Sunday, Oct. 20. For tickets and more information, visit TheSmithCenter.com.

Marc Summers summed it up by saying, “Going out on top has always been my goal. I was able to revive the program, both on television and in theaters across the country. ‘Double Dare’ has been a once in a lifetime experience. For over 30 years, I have had an amazing time entertaining a couple of generations. It’s always been important to me to know when to say farewell, and I believe now is that time. But this is not retirement!  I have a new show launching on Discovery, a live one many show, a documentary on my life, and a few other tricks up my sleeve!”

“I want to thank my extremely loyal fan base who first discovered me on ‘Double Dare,’ followed me over to ‘What Would You Do?,’ and continue to follow me in my career and on social media.”

“Double Dare premiered on Oct. 6, 1986, on Nickelodeon, and ran from 1986-1993, making it the network’s longest running game show. Marc Summers served as the show’s original host from 1986-1993. Shortly after its debut, “Double Dare” became one of the most popular original daily programs on cable television. The series went into syndication in 1988 and was later revived as “Super Sloppy Double Dare” in 1989.  The show also ran on broadcast television as “Family Double Dare” in 1988, followed by new versions on Nick, including “Double Dare 2000.”   Nickelodeon launched a successful revival of the show in the summer of 2018 to the great acclaim of the original super fans and a whole new generation of kids.  All new “Double Dare” episodes will air on Nickelodeon in October and December of this year.

The Double Dare Live! national tour launched with the TV revival and has announced tour dates currently through the end of 2019.  Inspired by the iconic TV game show, Double Dare Live! features two teams comprised of selected audience members competing to win prizes by answering brain-bending trivia questions, completing messy physical challenges and ultimately facing the legendary obstacle course.

One of the tour producers Charlie Blum said, “It has been a total joy connecting our live audiences across the country with their TV hero Marc Summers while touring Double Dare Live.  His command of the audience and the messiest game show on tour is mind-boggling and he will be sorely missed.”

Double Dare Live is produced by CB Entertainment and Red Tail Productions, LLC.
