The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort

Comedian Gary Owen has been entertaining American audiences for more than a decade with his side-splitting comedy and is set to return by popular demand to the Pearl Theater inside Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, July 11 at 9 p.m. Tickets start at $29.95, plus applicable fees.

Having performed to sold-out audiences in all the major comedy clubs and theatres across the country, Owen is one of America’s most beloved comedians and was proclaimed by Ebony magazine as Black America’s “Favorite White Comedian.”

Audiences can now see Owen in his fourth Showtime comedy special, “GARY OWEN: DOINWHATIDO” which premiered on Sept. 7, 2019. This is the follow-up to his three previous Showtime specials titled “I Got My Associates,” which came out in fall 2018, and “I Agree with Myself” and “True Story,” both of which aired on Showtime in 2015.

Owen has had massive success as a comic actor on the big screen. Up next, he will appear in Universal 1440 Entertainment’s SUDDEN DEATH. In 2016, he starred opposite Mike Epps and Mike Tyson in the comedy MEET THE BLACKS and in 2014, he starred in the Universal comedy RIDE ALONG with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart.

He is also one of the stars of the popular Screen Gems’ franchise THINK LIKE A MAN (2012), having appeared in the first installment and its successful follow up THINK LIKE A MAN TOO (2014). In additional to their commercial successes, both opening No. 1 at the box office, the films were warmly received by critics and fans alike. Other film credits include LITTLE MAN (2016) opposite The Wayans Brothers and DADDY DAY CARE (2003) opposite Eddie Murphy.  He is also widely known for his stealing role as “Bearcat” in the MGM film COLLEGE (2008).

In 2016, Owen starred in the BET docuseries “The Gary Owen Show,” which chronicled his dynamic and interracial family life with his wife and children in small-town Ohio. The series marked the first time a Caucasian actor had starred in his own series on the network.

On the small screen, Owen co-hosted TruTV’s sketch series “Upload with Shaquille O’Neal” (2013).  After meeting Tyler Perry on The Tom Joyner Morning Show, Owen was cast as the recurring role of Zach the barber in the 5th season of the TBS comedy series “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.”
In 2014, he served as the host of the hugely popular comedy special “Shaquille O’Neal Presents: All Star Comedy Jam – Live from Orlando.”  Other standout comedy performances include “Mike Epps Presents: Live from Club Nokia” as well as “Breakin’ out the Park” and “Urban Legend,” the latter two which he also produced. He also starred in “Martin Lawrence Presents: 1st Amendment,” which aired on Starz in 2005.

In addition to his breadth of comedic work in films, television, and standup, Owen works closely with the nonprofit Facing Addiction, an organization dedicated to finding solutions to the addiction crisis in America. Having lost his own brother to heroin addiction, Owen regularly speaks and performs to raise awareness and support for the organization’s mission.

Owen grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and has always had a passion for comedy. He enrolled in the US navy following high school, where he was chosen for the prestigious Presidential Honor Guard. After leaving his ceremonial position, Owen became a military police officer at the Naval Installations on Coronado Island in San Diego. During this time, he returned to his true calling: standup comedy. After only a year of doing stand-up, he was named “Funniest Serviceman in America.” Two appearances on the multicultural comedy showcase, “BET’s ComicView,” won him his own one-hour “grandstand” show. At the end of the season he was selected from the year’s four “grandstanders” to be the host.

Comedian Sinbad returns to Green Valley Ranch Resort

Comedian Sinbad returns to Green Valley Ranch Resort

Friday, July 3, 2020 at 8 p.m.
Tickets on sale Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10 a.m.

Comedy legend Sinbad is returning to Las Vegas for a special performance at the Grand Events Center inside Green Valley Ranch Resort on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $25 plus applicable fees and go on sale Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10 a.m.

Actor and comedian Sinbad arrived on the comedy scene with a “hit’em in the face” style of comedy that has kept audiences laughing in the aisles for over the past two decades. He freely admits that he doesn’t know any jokes, except for the ones that his dad told him “back in the day,” Sinbad’s comedy is about stories, and boy does he tell stories! The basis of his humor comes from everyone he meets, everything he’s seen, and everything he’s done.

Ranked by Comedy Central as one of the top 100 standup comedians of all time, Sinbad has built a loyal following by taking audiences’ painful trials or embarrassing tribulations of day-by-day life, throwing them back in their faces, and causing an uproar of comedic hysteria. He can also make it sound profound without being profane. Not that he’s any kind of choirboy, but by being the son of a preacher man he decided to keep his comedy clean after his father attended one of his early performances. Up to that time he had been what he describes himself as “semi-dirty.” Sinbad says that he learned that night that “funny is funny”, and that masters of dirty comedy such as Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce could all work clean without losing a step.

Tickets for Sinbad are $25, $35, $45 and $55 plus applicable fees for reserved seating. Doors open at 7 p.m. All tickets go on sale Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at any Station Casinos Reward Center and The Fiestas, by logging onto www.stationcasinoslive.com or through Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com.

Luxor ‘Prop’erly Extends Iconic Comedian Carrot Top’s Las Vegas Residency into 2025

Luxor ‘Prop’erly Extends Iconic Comedian Carrot Top’s Las Vegas Residency into 2025

MGM Resorts Executives Surprise Carrot Top with Contract Extension

After an unprecedented 15-year run, Luxor Hotel and Casino has announced a five-year contract renewal with world-renowned comedian Scott “Carrot Top” Thompson who will continue performing his hit Las Vegas show to 2025. During last night’s show, MGM Resorts executives surprised Carrot Top by joining him on stage immediately following his final act to announce the extended residency creating an over the ‘top’ celebration.

With three decades of comedic performance in his rear-view mirror, Carrot Top is one of the most popular, recognizable and successful comedians in the nation. Not only has he cemented his role as a Las Vegas icon, the extension of his headlining residency solidifies “Carrot Top” as the longest running comedy show in MGM Resorts history.

“Carrot Top has been entertaining crowds at Luxor since 2005 and we are very excited that Luxor will continue to be his home for many more years,” said MGM Resorts’ President of Entertainment & Sports George Kliavkoff. “Visitors come to Las Vegas from all around the world to let their hair down, escape and have a few laughs. Carrot Top’s show delivers on all of that.”

Carrot Top’s successful and storied career has allowed him to develop a completely unique genre of comedy that is self-explained as a combination of George Carlin (for his “observational humor”), Steven Wright (for his “dark, sick humor”), and Gallagher (for his use of props). Utilizing that one-of-a-kind style, the resident show is ever-evolving and has become a Las Vegas staple, reflecting current headlines, consistently poking fun at pop culture, politics and music.

“Being able to call Las Vegas home for the past 15 years has been an incredible experience that has allowed me to explore and expand my comedy as well as put down roots in this great city,” said Carrot Top. “I consider myself very fortunate to have had this opportunity and look forward to many more years of making people laugh here at Luxor.”

Carrot Top performs six nights a week inside the Atrium Showroom. For tickets or additional information please visit mgmresorts.com/luxor. Tickets start at $40 (not including taxes and fees) and can be purchased online or at any Luxor box office.
