Throughout the week of St. Patrick’s Day, Executive Chef Tacho Kneeland will serve the Torta de Rueben, prepared with corned beef, pepper jack cheese, Russian dressing spread and sauerkraut on bolillo bread, a la carte priced at $16.95; and a Corned Beef Quesadilla with Oaxaca cheese, sauerkraut and Russian dressing spread on a flour tortilla, served with rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream, priced at $19.95.

 

In true St. Patrick’s Day spirit, green beer will be available with prices starting at $7, as well as green frozen margaritas starting at $13. Morton Group’s CRUSH American Grill at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, will celebrate one of the biggest party holidays of the year at its annual St. Patrick’s Day bash hosted by Irishman, bartender and resident “funologist” Johnny “JOD” O’Donnell on Tuesday, March 17 at 5 p.m.

 

O’Donnell will do what he does best: serve up plenty of cocktails and Irish whiskey while bringing people together for toasts and good spirits. Entertainment will be provided by the stunning Lydia Ansel, electric violinist and DJ.

Starring alongside Melissa McCarthy, Gardell is most well known for his role as the good-hearted Chicago police officer Mike Briggs in the hit CBS series “Mike & Molly.” He also served as host for “Monopoly Millionaires Club,” earning a daytime Emmy award nomination in 2016. His extensive television credits include “Sun Records,” “Young Sheldon” and the critically-acclaimed “Lucky.”

As a stand-up comedian, Gardell has toured the country, sharing tales of his tough childhood, adolescent years and family life. Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is expanding its underwater journey to include an immersive virtual reality theater. Opening in mid-March, the Ocean Explorer Virtual Reality (VR) Theater will take guests on an unforgettable underwater voyage through two live-action films and interactive exhibitions.

 

The Ocean Explorer VR experience will feature a 36-seat, motion-platform theater, that will showcase two films highlighting underwater creatures, rarely seen up close and personal in their natural environment. “Swimming with Humpbacks” follows the journey and behaviors of mother humpback whales and their calves as they migrate during mating season. “Shark Dive” takes guests to Tiger Beach, a mythic underwater strip in the Bahamas where some of the world’s largest apex predators amass including tiger sharks and hammerheads.

 

“For years, our guests have been fascinated and intrigued by the beautiful living creatures that call Shark Reef home,” said Adrienne Rowland, director of animal care at Shark Reef Aquarium.

“Now, with this immersive and interactive experience, they can discover and appreciate our oceans and animals in a whole new way.”

 

The new installation is a partnership between Shark Reef Aquarium and Immotion Group plc, the global leader in immersive virtual reality experiences, with studios in the U.K. and California.

 Exciting news coming from House of Blues and guitar legend Carlos Santana today as they announce the continuation of Santana’s residency, An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live. The residency, which is in its eighth successful year at the House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, will continue into fall 2020. Tickets for the newly added performances will go on sale Friday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. Tickets for all previously announced 2020 show dates are currently on sale. All shows begin at 8 p.m.

Santana rocked the stage last week with his first sold-out performances of 2020 and he will return to the House of Blues stage this May.

About Carlos Santana:
2019 marked the 20th anniversary of Carlos Santana’s groundbreaking album Supernatural and the 50th anniversary of his legendary performance at Woodstock. The Black Donnellys

The Black Donnellys are a traditional/folk rock band consisting of Dave Browne and Dave Rooney. Browne, who is also a Guinness World Record holder for marathon guitar playing, plays mandolin and guitar, while Rooney, who is known for his unique voice, sings lead vocals. The band performs a fun selection of folk and traditional Irish songs that provide an entertaining introduction to the historical origins of Irish music. In October 2014, the band contributed to Rí Rá’s Guinness World Record for longest concert by multiple artists.

Crafted in the warm pub style of 19th century Ireland, Rí Rá Las Vegas is located inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place.  The authentic Irish pub features a multitude of artifacts that were carefully restored in Wicklow, Ireland and shipped to their new home in Las Vegas.
