Proceeds to Support Local Scholars and Families Through Las Vegas-Based Non-Profit CORE
LAS VEGAS (Aug. 15, 2025) – Tap N Ash Social Club is teeing up good times and great causes with the return of its 3rd Annual Big Smoke Shoot Out Golf Tournament and the launch of its inaugural Torch Cigar and Music Festival, both benefitting CORE, a nonprofit dedicated to helping local students and families succeed in and out of the classroom.
The weekend celebration kicks off Thursday, Oct. 30 with the fan-favorite golf tournament at Desert Pines Golf Club, followed by the debut of Torch on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Clark County Amphitheater. Held in conjunction with Las Vegas’ legendary Big Smoke Weekend, these events bring together cigar lovers, music fans, and community champions for a powerhouse pairing of purpose and play.
Golfers of all skill levels are encouraged to register their four-person team for the scramble-format tournament, which includes on-course lunch, a loaded swag bag, contests, and plenty of cigars and camaraderie. Register now here.
Meanwhile, Torch will light up the amphitheater with live performances from The Original Stone City Band, Jeff Bradshaw, Steph Payne, Tyriq Johnson, and Kyss Kyss.

“We’re turning up the heat this fall—with golf, cigars, soul, and support for one of the most impactful organizations in Las Vegas,” said Michelle Runles, owner of Tap N Ash. “The Big Smoke Shoot Out has become a signature event, and now with Torch, we’re expanding that energy to the stage. It’s all about community, connection, and making a difference.”
Proceeds from both events will benefit CORE, a Las Vegas-based nonprofit working to ensure every student—regardless of background—has a real chance to succeed. Through academic enrichment, family support, social-emotional and leadership skills, CORE’s model is changing lives in North Las Vegas and beyond.
“We are deeply honored to be chosen again as the beneficiary of these fantastic events,” said Jeff Jones, CORE’s Executive Director. “Tap N Ash walks the walk when it comes to community, and their support helps us provide life-changing opportunities to the youth and families we serve. Together, we’re building brighter futures.”
Dedicated to ensuring historically underserved students and their families achieve economic mobility and lead choice-filled lives, the CORE model focuses on a long-term cohort of students/families from 6th through 12th grade. Scholars participate in after-school, weekend, and summer programming to enhance their academic, social-emotional, and leadership skills. Concurrently, their families work with CORE staff to develop support networks, pursue their own education, and enhance the skills necessary for success in the workplace. After graduation, Scholars are engaged with CORE through an Alumni Network to ensure that they stay on track and reach their full potential. The entire CORE Scholar experience is provided free of charge to participating families. Whether you’re hitting the greens or grooving under the stars, Tap N Ash invites Las Vegas to show up and give back.
