A Legacy of Legends – Jan. 31 – Feb. 2
South Point Arena honors Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt as it hosts A Legacy of Legends Friday, Jan. 31 – Sunday, Feb. 2, clinics showcasing an innovative style of horsemanship. The clinics will begin daily at 9 a.m. Throughout the day, participants will experience hands-on instruction, strengthening rider and horse unison though various disciplines from some of the largest equestrian names in the industry including Buck Brannaman, Jaton Lord and Melanie Smith Taylor. 2014 Big Game Viewing Parties – Sunday, Feb. 2
Offering guests the ultimate football viewing experience, South Point will host five different viewing parties on Sunday Feb. 2 for guests to witness the biggest football game of the season. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. and kick-off will be at 3:25 p.m. Fans will have the option to watch the “Big Game” in the grand sports book, ballroom, Napa room, showroom or exhibit hall.
Throughout the party South Point will offer guests a variety of drink specials including $3 Budweiser, Bud Light or Bud Lime bottles; six-beer buckets of Bud product for $16; $4 Coronas; six-beer buckets of Corona for $20; $5 Patron Margaritas; $25 Patron Margarita pitchers; $5 Crown Royal and Premier cocktails; $4 Call cocktails; and $3 house wine. In addition, South Point will also offer food specials such as $1 hot dogs, $3 pizza, $4 Big Game nachos and $4 sausage & peppers hoagie.
Outside of the exhibit hall and ballroom viewing parties, South Point will have two additional Sports Books set up for guests to place Big Game bets. 2014 NFAA World Archery Festival – Feb. 7 – 9
South Point Arena hosts the “Vegas Round” of the 2014 NFAA World Archery Festival Feb. 7 – 9. Guests can watch the world’s most talented archers compete in the first leg of the three-round tournament. While participants go head-to-head for the largest purse ever for an indoor archery competition, guests have the opportunity to visit the World Archery Festival Trade Show showcasing top-of-the-line archery products. LVCHA Weekend Winter Championship – Feb. 12 – 16
South Point Arena hosts the LVCHA Open Cutting Horse Show Feb. 12 – 16. During the event, guests will have the opportunity to exhibit and purchase all things country at the Western Gift Show. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please visit the South Point website.
Special Olympics Las Vegas Polar Plunge – Saturday, Feb. 15
The South Point Hotel hosts the fifth annual Las Vegas Polar Plunge on Saturday, Feb. 15 at noon. Plunge-day registration will begin at 10 a.m. During the event, participants will plunge into the ice-cold pool at South Point in an effort to raise funds for Special Olympic Nevada and give its athletes the opportunity to participate in regional, national and international sporting events. Plungers are encouraged to wear outrageous costumes as the best dressed individuals and teams will be recognized during a costume contest that will take place at 11:30 a.m. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $125, which covers the cost of one season of sports instruction and competition for a Special Olympics athlete. Rocky Mountain Gun Show – Feb. 15 – 16
South Point Arena welcomes the Rocky Mountain Gun Show Saturday, Feb. 15. from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday Feb. 16. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Throughout the weekend, participants can observe a wide variety of vendors, ideal for every outdoor adventurer, gun enthusiast and hunter. All attendees will have the opportunity to enter to win a $5,000 2015 VIP Race Fan Package, including a three-night stay in a South Point suite, three-day tickets and entry to the South Point Las Vegas Motor Speedway Suite, Neon Garage passes, helicopter transportation for the Kobalt 400, roundtrip ground transportation for Pole Day and Nationwide races, a Spa Day at Costa Del Sur Spa and Salon and dinner for two at Michael’s Gourmet Room. All entries will receive one complimentary night stay at South Point. In addition, guests have the opportunity to have their photo taken with Brendan Gaughan’s #33 Nationwide Car. Party with the Budweiser Clydesdales – Thursday, Feb. 20
South Point Arena welcomes the return of the legendary Budweiser Clydesdales with a special “Party with the Clydesdales” celebration Thursday, Feb. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests are invited to join the free celebration which will include live entertainment, complimentary Budweiser drafts and photo opportunities with the Clydesdales. Throughout the evening, the Clydesdale horses will put on an exceptional performance for the audience. In addition, King the Dalmatian will also make a special guest appearance during the party.
