COTTON EYED JOE CELEBRATES 25th ANNIVERSARY — NAMED THE ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC 2018 “NIGHTCLUB OF THE YEAR”

New Owner Brings Famed Nightclub New Dance Floor, Lighting, Pool Tables, Concerts and more!

For over 25 years, the Cotton Eyed Joe has served as the hottest night club in all of East Tennessee. In fact, this year, it won the ACM (Academy of Country Music) Industry Award for Nightclub of the Year! The ‘Joe’ is already awesome, but it’s about to get a whole lot better! From complete renovations to new offerings, such as valet parking, the “Joe” will have a totally updated atmosphere, perfect for concerts. All of these changes are made possible thanks to the “Joe’s” new owner, Chuck Ward. He’s been in the real estate business for 30 years, and he’s already begun to give the club a much-needed face-lift.

“Everybody loves the Cotton Eyed Joe, and I’m thrilled to be the one who will make them love it even more,” said new owner, Chuck Ward. “I’m working hard to make it better than ever and more visitor friendly. Thanks to everyone who comes out to see us!”

CLUB UPDATES:
Part of the “Joe’s” renovations include new flooring, dance floors, lighting, and pool tables. Coming soon they will have updated restrooms and a permanent stage for their world-famous performances!

NEW CHANGES & OFFERINGS:
Arriving at the ‘Joe’ has never been better because the valet parking services have been enhanced. An all new menu will be making its debut sometime soon at the ‘Joe’. It will be filled with usual pub fare bar food, plus many delicious fresh food choices.

The National Anthem is played EVERY NIGHT, followed by the club’s theme song, “Cotton Eyed Joe”.

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Announces Details for Little Big Town Exhibition

LITTLE BIG TOWN TO APPEAR JUNE 26 AT
COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME® AND MUSEUM
IN SUPPORT OF NEW EXHIBIT LITTLE BIG TOWN: THE POWER OF FOUR

Exhibition opens June 29 with artifacts including neon signs used on album cover for Pain Killer, Karen Fairchild’s wedding dress, costumes lined with LED lighting from the 2014 CMA Awards and more

Grammy-winning vocal group Little Big Town will be the subject of a special exhibit, Little Big Town: The Power of Four, opening June 29, 2018, and continuing through June 9, 2019, at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum. The popular foursome will participate in a special program Tuesday, June 26, 2018, in connection with the exhibit. Details for the program appear below.

Little Big Town members are Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook. Many of their albums have been top sellers, including The Road to Here (2005), Tornado (2012), Pain Killer (2014), and, most recently, The Breaker (2017). Little Big Town has received six CMA awards for Vocal Group of the Year and three Grammys, among many other honors.

The new exhibit tells the group’s story from the very beginning, and includes keepsakes and photos from each member’s childhood. The narrative recounts the development of individual talents that eventually brought the four together to form contemporary country music’s first two-woman, two-man vocal group. The exhibit storyline recalls early career struggles that ultimately strengthened the group’s bond and solidified their resolve to succeed on their own terms. By making bold musical decisions, the members of Little Big Town have joined the top echelon of country music stardom.

“Karen, Kimberly, Phillip, and Jimi—Little Big Town—build their music on a foundation of beautiful vocal harmonies seldom heard in country music,” said Kyle Young, CEO of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. “The group has enjoyed best-selling, award-winning success, but achieving that success required uncommon dedication and courage—and the willingness to make records for four different labels—before Little Big Town became consistent hit makers. Their journey has been a long one, and we embrace the opportunity to share Little Big Town’s story with our visitors.”

“Having an exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is something we would never have thought to dream of for ourselves. It is beyond a dream come true,” said Fairchild. “We are honored to be a part of country music, and are so thankful to all our fans, the music community here in Nashville and the museum for this privilege.”

The exhibit includes many unique items that illuminate the personalities of group members. Artifacts include a handmade Afghan ceramic pitcher, given to Sweet by an American soldier after Little Big Town performed at a small military base in isolated Tarinkot, Afghanistan. The pitcher broke on Sweet’s long trip home, and his wife, Becky, repaired it. Usually displayed in the family dining room, the pitcher is on loan to the museum.

Additional highlights of the exhibition include:

  • Neon signs used for the cover photo of the album Pain Killer (2014).
  • Instruments used in underwater scenes in the music video for “Pain Killer” (2014) including:

o   Fender DG-60 used by Jimi Westbrook

o   Fender Modern Player Telecaster Plus used by Phillip Sweet

  • BCBG Max Azria linen sundress with crochet detail and Golden Goose boots worn by Fairchild when she married Westbrook in a private ceremony in Nashville, May 31, 2006.
  • Clothes fitted with glow-in-the-dark, LED tube lighting, worn by Little Big Town for their appearance at the 2014 CMA Awards. After they performed “Day Drinking,” the group was joined on stage by pop star Ariana Grande for a performance of her hit “Bang Bang.”
  • Gretsch Electromatic with silver-sparkle top played by Kimberly Schlapman in performances of “Your Side of the Bed.”
  • Childhood memorabilia, including Fairchild’s high school cheerleading uniform, Westbrook’s trumpet, Schlapman’s recital costume and a drawing by Sweet.

Special programming surrounding the opening of the exhibit will include:

  • Tuesday, June 26                                         3:30 p.m.

Interview: Little Big Town
Fairchild, Schlapman, Sweet, and Westbrook will discuss their musical inspirations, creative process, and career milestones, as well as their personal histories and the joys and challenges of collaboration. The multi-media program will take place in the museum’s CMA Theater. Tickets can be reserved by clicking here.

  • Saturday, June 30                                         11:30 a.m.

Songwriter Session: Liz Rose
Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Liz Rose has gained an extensive list of credits throughout her career including the Little Big Town hits “Sober,” and “Girl Crush” winning CMA and Grammy awards for the later. Rose also wrote “Crazy Girl” (Eli Young Band); “God Made Girls” (RaeLynn); “Fearless,” “Tim McGraw,” “You Belong with Me,” and Grammy Country Song of the Year winner “White Horse” (Taylor Swift); and songs recorded by Dan + Shay, Tyler Farr, Alison Krauss, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Lee Ann Womack, and Chris Young. The program, presented by SunTrust will take place in the museum’s Ford Theater and will be streamed live at countrymusichalloffame.org

Both programs are included with museum admission and are free to museum members. Limited seating is available, and a program pass is required. For more information on how to reserve a program pass visit www.countrymusichalloffame.org.

With an unduplicated collection of more than 2.5 million artifacts, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is one of the most visited museums in the United States. Little Big Town: The Power of Four joins a year packed with dynamic exhibitions, including American Currents: The Music of 2017, Outlaws & Armadillos: Country’s Roaring ’70s and upcoming exhibits featuring Ralph Stanley (opening July 13, 2018), The Judds (August 10, 2018) and Emmylou Harris (October 2, 2018).

Sold-Out 3rd Annual Route 91 Harvest Is “A Winner” with Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Little Big Town & More

THIRD ANNUAL ROUTE 91 HARVEST DECLARED ‘A WINNER,’
SELLING OUT LAS VEGAS VILLAGE FOR THE SECOND TIME

Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley and More Led Special Weekend As Fans Relished Phenomenal Performances and Surprise Collaborations Set Against An Unrivaled Backdrop

The third annual Route 91 Harvest firmly plotted its pin on the global map as a destination festival this past weekend as the infamous Las Vegas Strip played host to a sold-out audience for the second year in a row. Heralded by Rolling Stone as “a winner, living up to the expectations that it set in its previous years,” the festival boasted a superstar lineup including Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Little Big Town, Dan + Shay, Chris Young and more as the high-energy weekend illustrated the festival’s staying power as it thrived in its third year.

toby

The first day of the three-day neon sleepover saw Toby Keith take the stage, bringing “a patriotic party to the center of The Strip with his songs ‘American Ride,’ ‘Made In America’ and many others, which brought on a chant of “USA” from the passionate audience.” (Sounds Like Nashville)

brad-paisley
Showcasing the collaborative nature of the genre, artists across the weekend invited guests to join them on stage during their set, including Saturday’s headliner Brad Paisley who brought fellow guitarist and main stage performer Lindsay Ell back up for a guitar-off to rival all others. Dan + Shay continued the cheer-inducing trend on Sunday as they harmonized with R & B vocal group Boyz II Men on their smash-hit “I’ll Make Love To You.”
luke
Sunday’s superstar headliner Luke Bryan took things up another gear as Karen Fairchild from Little Big Town took the stage with him for an electrifying rendition of their chart-topping duet “Home Alone Tonight.” As the unforgettable final night continued, the pair were then joined by Fairchild’s bandmates for a heartfelt version of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” mashed up with Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On,” followed by a collaboration with Bryan and Dustin Lynch. The pair teamed up for a rowdy version of Brooks & Dunn’s infamous and appropriate “Play Somethin’ Country.”

“Selling out for a second year in a row already is crazy,” said Brian O’Connell, President Of Country Touring at Live Nation. “There were some really special moments throughout the weekend and I don’’t think the fans took a breath. We have an amazing partner in MGM Resorts, who really understand our vision for Route 91 Harvest and we are excited to be able to let fans know when we’ll be back in 2017!”

Engaging closely with fans across social media platforms since its establishment just two short years ago, Route 91 Harvest continues to tailor the festival experience to those new and returning. Standout fan opportunities this year included House Of Blues Experience where NFL fans could enjoy the festival, but also not miss those all-important games. Additionally, spirited attendees were able to partake in “Silent Disco Line Dancing” that saw many flock to join in.

The festival’s second stage, known as “Next From Nashville,” furthered its status as it shone throughout the weekend with a laundry list of the genre’s most buzzed about artists captivated new audiences. Fans can also plan to return in 2017 as it was announced last night that Route 91 Harvest will return for a fourth year on Sept. 29 through Oct. 1. For further information and details as they are announced, visit www.rt91harvest.com.

SUPERSTAR TOBY KEITH TO PERFORM MERLE HAGGARD TRIBUTE AT THE “2016 AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN AWARDS”

COUNTRY COUNTDOWN AWARDS
SUPERSTAR TOBY KEITH TO PERFORM MERLE HAGGARD TRIBUTE
AT THE “2016 AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN AWARDS” Academy Award® Winner Matthew McConaughey to Introduce Tribute

2nd Annual Country Music Awards Show Airs Live Sunday, May 1, On FOX

Superstar singer/songwriter Toby Keith will perform a heartfelt tribute in celebration of his friend and musical hero Merle Haggard at the 2016 AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN AWARDS airing live from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., Sunday, May 1 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. Oscar®-winning actor Matthew McConaughey will introduce the tribute to the late legendary songwriter who inspired countless musicians and who is one of country music’s greatest icons.

Haggard’s longtime back-up band, The Strangers, will join Keith as part of this memorable performance. In addition, Haggard’s widow, Theresa, will be in attendance along with other members of the Haggard family, including son Ben, who also will perform with The Strangers.

Keith joins previously announced performers Kelsea Ballerini, 2016 NASH Icon Award recipients Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Cam, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt, Martina McBride, Thomas Rhett, Cole Swindell and Carrie Underwood.

From his first No. 1 smash “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” to his new album 35 mph Town, Toby Keith has been one of the most consistent self-directed hit makers of his era. His single, “Made In America” (from the album Clancy’s Tavern) topped the charts as one of the fastest rising songs in a long line of his chart burners. The second hit, “Red Solo Cup,” has become one of the most commercially successful country singles with a viral video garnering more than 30 million views while having topped the top downloaded country songs charts. The first single from 35 mph Town, “Drunk Americans,” debuted at No. 1 Most Added on both the Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase charts.

At the core of Keith’s unparalleled success is his songwriting, with an astounding succession of hit songs to the tune of more than 87 million BMI performances on commercial radio stations worldwide. In June 2015, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, and he has been honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association International with its Songwriter/Artist of the Decade distinction. He is a three-time BMI Country Songwriter/Artist of the Year and was named the American Country Awards’ Artist of the Decade. His albums have sold more than 40 million copies, ranking him among the top-selling all-genre artists on Billboard’s Top 200 Artists of the Decade; he is also Billboard’s No. 1 Country Artist of the Decade and No. 1 Country Songwriter of the Decade. His tours have drawn more than one million fans each year for the last decade. This year’s tour, Interstates & Tailgates presented by Ford F-Series, kicks off in May with dates scheduled throughout North America. However Keith’s most rewarding experiences come from giving back. Whether it’s helping sick children and their families in his native Oklahoma through the Toby Keith Foundation and the cost-free home OK Kids Korral, or supporting US Troops, including 11 USO Tours throughout the world, Keith has never lost touch with the most important things in life.

Matthew McConaughey will next be seen in the June 24th release of Free State of Jones, an epic action-drama set during the Civil War that tells the story of defiant Southern farmer, Newt Knight, and his extraordinary armed rebellion against the Confederacy. In 2016 he will also lend his voice to Kubo and the Two Strings and Sing as well as star in Gold, directed by Stephen Gaghan.

The AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN AWARDS is based on country music’s longest-running radio countdown show (43 years), “American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks,” and honors country music’s biggest stars, based on album sales and radio airplay.  Finalists and winners for all categories are based on radio airplay charts, sales and streaming data from April 1, 2015 to March 28, 2016 provided by BuzzAngle Music. Touring data is from Pollstar “The Concert Hotwire.”

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Awards counts for artists reflect categories in which they have been recognized as individuals or as part of their duo or group. In some cases, an artist may receive more than one nomination which factors into their official count. For example, Kenny Chesney received two nominations in the Single Record of the Year category—one each as artist and producer—because that category recognizes both.

Award recipients in each category are noted above parenthetically in the Album of the Year, Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Video of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year.
