Buckles & Barrels for Bailey Charity Barrel Race – Friday, Sept. 2 – Sunday, Sept. 4
The annual Buckles and Barrels for Bailey Charity Barrel Race will return to the South Point Arena Friday, Sept. 2 through Sunday, Sept. 4. In 2010, Bailey Stevens had developed a bacterial infection at just four days old that left her fighting for her life for 108 days in the Las Vegas Spring Valley Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Ever since, Bailey’s parents have been raising money to benefit the Las Vegas Spring Valley Hospital NICU through the annual barrel race, allowing much needed renovations to the parents’ room and waiting room along with education for nurses and much more. This event is free and open to the public.
High Roller Reining Classic Horse Show & Western Gift Show – Friday, Sept. 9 – Sunday, Sept. 18
South Point Arena will once again host the High Roller Reining Classic Friday, Sept. 9 through Sunday, Sept. 18. Recognized as the international “crown jewel” of western riding competitions, riders from around the world participate in the most exciting Las Vegas and West Coast reining events in the industry. Coinciding with the event, guests have the opportunity to purchase Western apparel and accessories at the Western Gift Show. Gifts include shirts, jeans, cowboy hats, boots, belts and buckles. In addition, tack, saddles, Western ranch style furniture and a lot of bling will be showcased throughout the event. This event is free and open to the public.
Andalusian World Cup – Thursday, Sept. 22 – Saturday, Sept. 24
The third annual Andalusian World Cup returns to the South Point Arena Thursday, Sept. 22 through Saturday, Sept. 24. As the largest Iberian horse show in North America, guests will get to enjoy an event built upon the equestrian industry’s top breeders and breeds. Hundreds of horses, riders and exhibitors will travel from across the country for the ground-breaking show combining a variety of equestrian disciplines at one venue. This event is free and open to the public.
AviSight Drone Academy – Tuesday, Sept. 27 – Friday, Sept. 30 – Just Updated
South Point Arena will be hosting the AviSight Drone Academy Tuesday, Sept. 27 through Friday, Sept. 30. AviSight offers a world-class drone training and certification program in three course formats, including a one-day beginners course ($499); a two-day professional or small business operator course ($899); or a full four-day “Drone Master” course ($1,599). The two and four-day courses offer the new FAA Part 107 preparation training by certified FAA instructors. Those interested in taking these courses can sign up here. Pacific Coast Cutting Horse Association Futurity Cutting – Friday, Oct. 7 – Sunday, Oct. 16 – Just Added
The Pacific Coast Cutting Horse Association’s (PCCHA) Futurity Cutting event returns to the South Point Area Friday, Oct. 7 through Sunday, Oct. 16. As the richest futurity on the West Coast, guests will witness horse cutting professionals compete for more than one million in cash and prizes. In addition, guests can enjoy a Western gift show, offering the latest in western apparel, art, and more. This event is free and open to the public.
International Gay Rodeo Association World Gay Rodeo Finals – Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23 – Just Added
South Point Arena will host the International Gay Rodeo Association (IGRA) World Gay Rodeo Finals (WGRF) once again Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23. The action-packed finals event will showcase the best national and state riders from the equestrian world where the best rider will take the championship title. Guests will have the opportunity to witness daily competitions including mounted break-away roping, team roping, bull riding, barrel racing and much more. In addition to the rodeo events, guests will have the opportunity to purchase Western apparel and gifts from a wide variety of vendors at the Western Gift Show. Tickets are available and start at $20.
72nd Annual California Saddlebred Futurity Horse Show and Fall Classic – Thursday, Oct. 27 – Saturday, Oct. 29 – Just Added
South Point Arena welcomes 72nd Annual California Saddlebred Futurity Horse Show and Fall Classic Thursday, Oct. 27 through Saturday, Oct. 29. Fans can expect to see excellent equestrian showmanship during an array of performance classes for American Saddlebred, Morgans, Ponies and Open Pleasure. This event is free and open to the public.
Professional Bull Riders BlueDEF Tour Finals – Saturday, Oct. 29 – Monday, Oct. 31 – Just Added
The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) BlueDEF Tour Finals, presented by Real Time Pain Relief, will wrap up its 2016 25-city tour at South Point Arena Saturday, Oct. 29 through Monday, Oct. 31. The BlueDEF Tour is the premier expansion tour of the PBR and primary qualifying events for the Built Ford Tough Series. The BlueDEF Finals will feature the top 35 riders from the BlueDEF Tour standings along with five champion qualifiers from the PBR’s international tours. This event is the last opportunity for riders to qualify for the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals. The final five positions will be awarded to the winner of the BlueDEF Finals, the second and third-place finishers, the highest finishing international athlete and the 2016 BlueDEF Tour Champion. Following the competition, ticketholders will be treated to a live performance by Casey Donahew on Sunday, Oct. 30 from 10 to 11:30 p.m. and a live performance by Neal McCoy on Monday, Oct. 31 from 10 to 11:30 p.m. In addition, the PBR Fan Zone will offer fans the opportunity to meet their favorite riders, enjoy entertainment and purchase Western gifts and apparel. Tickets are available for the PBR BlueDEF Tour Finals starting at $40.
Professional Bull Riders Fan Zone – Saturday, Oct. 29 – Saturday, Nov. 5 – Just Added
Returning for the second year, the South Point Arena and Priefert Pavilion will host the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Fan Zone during the 2016 Built Ford Tough World Finals and PBR BlueDEF Tour Finals in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 29 through Monday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 1 through Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PBR fans will have the opportunity to witness special events while enjoying live entertainment on the Fan Zone Stage. In addition, 10 different cowboys will spend 90 minutes each morning in the Tyson Fan Zone near the PBR Fan Club booth signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. This offers more opportunities for fans to interact with every bull rider in the Top 40 of the PBR world standings. This event is free and open to the public.
