WEDDING CAPITAL OF THE WORLD™ TO HOST 72nd ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION SUNDAY, SEPT. 28 WITH ELVIS-THEMED VOW RENEWAL EVENT
Waitlist Now Open For Couples Wishing to Participate in Fully Booked Event
“Still Falling in Love with You,” a Las Vegas Wedding Club Event at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino to Honor Milestone, Elvis Presley’s 90th Birthday
The Wedding Capital of the World™ announces it will celebrate its 72nd anniversary this September with a vow renewal event that’s already proving to be one of the year’s most in-demand celebrations. Titled “Still Falling in Love with You,” the free event—open to couples who married or renewed their vows in Las Vegas—has already reached capacity with 100 confirmed couples. Now, a waitlist has been activated at Weddings.Vegas for those eager to attend should space become available.
Taking place Sunday, Sept. 28 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, this year’s celebration invites Las Vegas Wedding Club members to relive the magic of their special day while honoring what would have been Elvis Presley’s 90th birthday. Interest in the event soared immediately after the public announcement—made by Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya during Boulder City’s Fourth of July parade—resulting in hundreds of signups within days.
Las Vegas has hosted more than 5 million weddings, hitting the monumental milestone on Feb. 20, 2022. Its reputation continues to grow among couples searching for romantic wedding destinations that offer excitement, convenience and unforgettable memories.
In 2023, the destination marked its 70th anniversary with a milestone vow renewal that welcomed more than 800 attendees, making it one of the largest events in the Wedding Capital of the World’s history. The following year, the 71st anniversary was observed with a lovely intimate gathering, continuing the tradition of honoring Las Vegas’ enduring legacy as a premier destination for love and commitment.
This year’s celebration will begin with a matinee performance of “The King Comes Home” in Westgate’s legendary Cabaret Theater. Following the show, couples will gather in the Westgate Ballroom to renew their vows with Elvis-themed flair, including a sparkling wine toast, wedding cake, DJ, photo ops with “Elvis” and other roaming celebrity lookalikes and a mixer to share memories with other couples who were married in Las Vegas.
Though the event is free, donations will be accepted for Victoria’s Voice Foundation, a nonprofit providing evidence-based drug education and addiction prevention support for families.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the love and enthusiasm from couples who chose Las Vegas to begin their love stories,” said Goya. “It’s a testament to how special this place is—and we want everyone who qualifies to join the waitlist so they can be part of future opportunities to celebrate with us.”
“Westgate Las Vegas is honored to be the home of so many legendary moments in Elvis Presley’s career,” said Dawn Rawle, SVP of Marketing and Entertainment at Westgate Las Vegas. “His presence and influence are deeply woven into the history of this property, and we take great pride in preserving and celebrating that legacy. We are thrilled to partner with Clark County Clerk Lynn Goya to bring such a special experience to life for these lucky couples.”
Couples married or who renewed their vows in Clark County, Nevada, are encouraged to visit Weddings.Vegas to join the waitlist. Openings will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
