 In tandem with Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower replica at Paris Las Vegas – one of the most iconic landmarks of the Las Vegas skyline – will feature a special twinkling light show at 8 p.m. PT every night for 10 minutes to honor healthcare workers and symbolize hope as the world faces this unprecedented situation together.

The Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas will be lit static red, white and blue from dusk to midnight nightly, in addition to the 10-minute twinkling light show at 8 p.m. The High Roller Observation Wheel will also feature red, white and blue light shows beginning at dusk.

The YouTube series will feature exclusive, short performances by Las Vegas’ comedians, chefs, magicians, headliners, musicians, mixologists, athletes and performers; whether it be a signature cocktail recipe, a short comedic set, a favorite at-home workout or a rendition of a few favorite songs.

The Pop-Up Market, Curbside Pickup, Delivery and Meal Prep Services Will Carry On Through The Restaurant’s Closing Date on Sunday 

 

The Stove located in Henderson has decided to temporarily cease operations due to the hardships surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Their pop-up market, delivery, meal prep services and curbside pickup will carry on through Sunday, March 29th.

“In this time of urgency to keep people safe, we appreciate your support,” said Executive Chef and Part Owner Antonio Nunez. “We are going to shut down to perform routine maintenance and implement small remodels to our restaurant so that our guests can return to a refreshed environment.  All of us, our staff, vendors, and partners appreciate all the support of the community that has kept us going. We hope to be that shining star, that crave, that energy you want when we open back up after our world is back to living!”

The restaurant will continue operating under the following criteria from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through Sunday where they will then close their doors temporarily:

  • Meal prep services are being offered at The Stove as a family-friendly solution. Individuals and/or families can select from 3 hand-prepared meals for $21 per person. Gluten free and vegan options are available upon request for an additional fee. The options are as listed below:

 

Breakfast (choice of 1, vegan eggs and sausage substitute available)

Pancakes and sausage

Scrambled eggs with potatoes, bacon and bread

Chorizo egg tacos and greens

 

Lunch (choice of 1, vegan chicken substitute available) 

Corned beef with grain mustard and potatoes

Grilled peach salad with greens, cheese and a honey dressing

 

Dinner (choice of 1, vegan chicken substitute available)

Two (2) pork tacos with beans and a side of greens

Fish tacos with slaw and beans

Short rib with crispy potatoes and carrots

  • The Stove is promoting contactless delivery (with zero delivery fees) from DoorDash. A select menu is available for delivery using this platform.

BRUNO MARS PLEDGES $1 MILLION TO THE MGM RESORTS FOUNDATION FOR MGM EMPLOYEE EMERGENCY GRANT FUND & CHILDREN’S MEDICAL SUPPORT FUND

 

GRAMMY Award-winning entertainer Bruno Mars, who has been a performer at the Park MGM theater, announced today that he has donated $1 million to the MGM Resorts Foundation to support MGM employees impacted economically by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

 

Mars has performed a series of limited dates at The Park Theater at Park MGM in Las Vegas since 2016.

 

A representative for Mars says, “The people at MGM have given Bruno Mars the rare opportunity to be able to continuously gig while he’s in the creative process of working on his next album. With the closures across Las Vegas, Bruno wanted to show his appreciation to the amazing employees who help make these shows possible in hopes that we’ll all be out of this situation and having fun together again very soon.”

 

The money will go toward The MGM Resorts Foundation’s Employee Emergency Grant Fund & Children’s Medical Support Fund, which is designed to help MGM employees and their immediate families with short-term assistance during unexpected hardships and emergencies. The Grant Fund may also provide disaster relief assistance to furloughed or laid-off employees whose compensation is suspended or employment terminated as a result of an extraordinary event (or events) that severely impacts a community in which MGM Resorts conducts business, such as the COVID-19 public health crisis. 

 

“We consider Bruno Mars as part of the MGM family and appreciate what he is doing to help our employees and their families during these uncertain times,” said Bill Hornbuckle, Acting CEO and President of MGM Resorts International. “We recently expanded the eligibility requirements for the fund to help as many employees as we can who are impacted by the crisis, and this donation will help us expand our reach even further.”

Concerts aim to raise money to support musicians and touring personnel

Romeo Entertainment Group, one of America’s largest independent buyers of entertainment, began presenting the ‘Couch Concert Series’ Wednesday, March 18th in an effort to keep the music playing and to entertain those at home during times of social distancing. The concerts feature artists performing their latest songs and engaging with the audience through live stream to prove that music continues to heal.

The livestream concerts take place every day at 3 P.M. CST through the Romeo Entertainment Group’s Instagram page linked below. A recap of the live performance will be posted to the Romeo Entertainment Group Facebook page immediately after the initial live stream. The series will continue into April with new artists being added daily.

“We’re committed to keeping the music alive so we are bringing the concerts to you!” said REG President R.J. Romeo. “The entire entertainment community is suffering tremendously during this time and we all know how music heals and brings joy. The donation included food and supplies from the Drai’s Beachclub restaurant, in addition to 40 cases of water provided by Oxigen Water. The donated items, which were delivered over the course of three days by the Drai’s team, will sustain the center for an estimated 30 days.

 

Drai’s Cares is a community initiative created by the staff of Drai’s Las Vegas to serve children, veterans and others who are in need. In addition to ongoing assistance for Share Village, the organization supports many local causes including The Just One Project, Foundation for Positively Kids and several local schools. The generous delivery contained a variety of nutritious foods including over 3,000 dozen eggs, 2,800 pounds of watermelon, 2,800 gallons of orange juice, 1,000 cases of fresh vegetables, 249 cases of fresh fruit, 150 cases of potatoes, and much more that will be further distributed to individuals and families in need.

 

In addition, Station Casinos donated over 200 gallons of milk and an assortment of bakery items including brownies, cakes, pies and more to various local charities including The Salvation Army and Veterans Village.

“We are hearing stories first-hand from the men and women in the field going above and beyond the call of duty to help keep our community safe from the spread of COVID-19 and we want to do all we can to support each and every one of them,” said Judith Siegel, owner of Pinkbox. “We have received an overwhelming response with requests for doughnuts and we are working to add deliveries for each and every one, while also taking extra safety precautions for our drivers and other employees.”

Pinkbox is sending free doughnuts to Valley Health System hospitals, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department area commands, Clark County Fire Department stations, all Henderson and North Las Vegas police and fire stations, major hospitals throughout the Las Vegas Valley and Share Village, formerly Veterans Village.

UNLV men’s basketball sophomore guard named to District 17’s second team

UNLV sophomore guard Bryce Hamilton has earned 2019-20 National Association of Basketball Coaches’ (NABC) All-District 17 second team honors, the organization announced Monday.

 

Hamilton, who led the Runnin’ Rebels to a second-place finish in the Mountain West this season as the team tallied 12 conference victories for the first time in 12 seasons, was one of 10 players in his district to earn recognition. The all-district teams were selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division I.

 

District 17’s first team included UNR’s Jalen Harris, San Diego State’s Malachi Flynn, Utah State’s Sam Merrill, San Diego State’s Yanni Wetzel and Colorado State’s Nico Carvacho, while the second team was made up of Hamilton, Boise State’s Justinian Jessup and Derrick Alson Jr., San Diego State’s Matt Mitchell and Utah State’s Neemias Queta. San Diego State’s Brian Dutcher earned the District 17 Coach of the Year award.

 

Hamilton was UNLV’s first first-team All-Mountain West honoree since 2013 and averaged a team-high 16.0 points per game for UNLV during the 2019-20 season, playing in all 32 games and starting 14. He shot 45.3 percent from the field and averaged 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest. In conference action, he was second in the league in scoring with 20.9 ppg and was second on the team in rebounding at 6.7 rpg, starting 11 of UNLV’s 18 league contests. He became the first Runnin’ Rebel to average at least 20 ppg in conference play in nine years.

 

Hamilton scored in double figures in 24 games overall, including each of his last 19 contests, scored a career-high 35 points vs. New Mexico on Jan. 18 and tallied at least 20 points in 10 games (eight of his last 13 contests). He was named the league’s Player of the Week on two occasions.

 

Hamilton was also named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s All-District VIII team earlier this month.

About Lynn Anderson:
Lynn Anderson’s six-decade career charted 12 #1 singles and a total of 18 Top 10 hits, with more than 50 Top 40 hit singles total. Aside from being named “Female Vocalist of the Year” by the Academy of Country Music twice and “Female Vocalist of the Year” by the Country Music Association, she also won a Grammy Award for her signature song “Rose Garden.” Anderson later won a People’s Choice Award, and was the very first female artist to win an American Music Award. In 1974, she became the first female country act to sell out Madison Square Garden. Record World, a major music trade magazine of the 1950s to the 1980s, honored Anderson as ‘Artist of the Decade’ for 1970-1980.
