FERRARO’S RISTORANTE ANNOUNCES MAY 20 TASTE & LEARN
FEATURING WINES FROM MASTROBERARDINO

Ferraro’s Ristorante invites guests to experience its next Taste & Learn on Saturday, May 20 at 5 p.m. Taste & Learn is Ferraro’s popular, monthly wine-tasting and education event that provides illuminating wine education along with a menu of imaginative, authentic Italian small plates created by Ferraro’s Executive Chef Mimmo Ferraro.

The May Taste & Learn event spotlights wines from Mastroberardino. The Mastroberardino family’s wine making traditions date back to the mid-18th century in the village of Atripalda, Italy. Today, the ancient cellars still stand as Mastroberardino continues to produce some of the world’s most exclusive wines made with the notable vines of Irpinia and Campania, Italy.

Taste & Learn attendees will begin the tasting with Fiano di Avellino, a bright white wine with aromas of pear, pineapple, toasted nuts, honey and spring flowers. Second on the menu is the Aglianico Irpinia, an elegant ruby red wine with intense aromas of black cherry, blackberry and spices. Next, the Aglianico “Mastro” Campania offers notes of strawberries and violet flowers with a smooth, medium-bodied finish. Lastly, guests will conclude the tasting with “Naturalis Historia” Taurasi DOCG, a warm red wine pairing perfectly with pasta and braised meat.

“Mastroberardino is one of the great leaders in Italian viticulture,” said Mimmo Ferraro, executive chef, Ferraro’s. “For more than 10 generations, their family has carried on the great tradition of red and white winemaking in Southern Italy.”
