BURNT OFFERINGS IS BRINGING A MODERN APPROACH TO KOSHER DINING IN LAS VEGAS

BURNT OFFERINGS IS BRINGING A MODERN APPROACH TO KOSHER DINING IN LAS VEGAS

The Restaurant Is The Only Orthodox Union Kosher Certification Holder In Nevada

Burnt Offerings, Nevada’s only Orthodox Union (OU) Kosher Certified Restaurant, is bringing a fresh approach to Kosher dining to the greater Las Vegas Valley. This distinct certification brings a whole new level to mindful eating with a 24-hour surveillance of the restaurant’s kitchen and an on-site, full-time kosher supervisor to maintain the restaurant’s status.

“We felt that it was necessary to achieve the highest level of Kosher certification to bring peace of mind to our patrons,” said Executive Chef Jennifer Eckmann. “Not only is this important for our Jewish guests with strict Kosher dietary restrictions, but the certification is also appealing to our vegan customers, guests with allergies as well as those who may be focusing on mindful eating as we are able to ensure that there is no cross-contamination with animal products. There’s something for everyone on our menu.”

The restaurant features a dairy-free and shellfish-free menu with only the highest quality Kosher meats available. Guests won’t find any sort of shellfish on the menu. Instead, Chef Jennifer Eckmann has created a new-yiddish, pan-fusion menu including modern Jewish dishes, American classics, Italian staples and Polish imports. The eclectic menu can be enjoyed for brunch, lunch or dinner. Kosher wines are available by the glass or by the bottle, and domestic, draught beers, specialty cocktails and mocktails make for the perfect pairing with any dish.

With less than 60 Orthodox Union Kosher Restaurants in the United States, this is the most internationally accepted certification when it comes to achieving a kosher kitchen. The certification is a true testament to providing an incredible and safe dining experience each and every time. This certification is especially important during these times of uncertainty due to the high-standard of cleanliness that the kitchen is held.

Reservations are highly suggested by calling 702-848-2876. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and closed Saturday.

With the use of highest quality ingredients, knowledge of the traditional, and the creativity to progress & evolve Kosher cuisine, Burnt Offerings aims to revive, rejuvenate, and re-imagine the possibilities of Kosher food, while infusing the fundamentals, and paying homage to the cuisine’s origins. ABOUT OU KOSHER

The OU (Orthodox Union) Kosher is the world’s largest and most widely recognized kosher certification agency, certifying over 1,201,950 products produced in more than 9,715 plants located in 104 countries around the world. The OU, termed a “coveted seal of approval” by The New York Times, is one of the world’s best-known trademarks. Comparing it to the UL®, Forbes magazine wrote, “If you want to know your food is kosher, you can look for the Orthodox Union’s OU symbol.” It immediately and universally enhances your product, raising the perception of its quality, and increasing its marketability. Their 900 Rabbinic Field Representatives, located across North America and throughout the world – from Europe to Australia, from China to South Africa—are proficient in modern food production techniques and chemical and biological processes, no less than the intricacies of Jewish law. Their New York headquarters staff consists of over 60 Rabbinic Coordinators who serve as account executives for OU certified companies, supplemented by a roster of ingredient specialists, flavor analysts and other support staff. A state-of-the-art computer system stores and tracks product information and ingredients. The Orthodox Union database contains information on more than 2,613,415 food ingredients. Many of the food industry’s most recognized brands, large and small, choose the OU for their kosher certification. These include: ADM, Avebe, Cargill, Coca Cola, Peter Cremer, Danisco, Dean Foods, DSM, General Mills, Chr. Hansen, Hebei Welcome Pharmaceutical, H.J. Heinz, Hershey’s, Kraft/Nabisco, McCormick & Co., Nestlé, Novartis, Procter & Gamble, Quest, Reynolds Aluminum, Rhodia, Unilever, and thousands more. The OU does much more than ensure the highest standards of kosher certification. OU Kosher is unique among all the major kosher certification agencies, as it is part of a non-profit communal organization (founded in 1898), so that it can maintain the highest levels of integrity without any possible conflict of interest. The Orthodox Union, now in its second century of service to the Jewish community of North America and beyond, is a world leader in community and synagogue services, adult education, youth work through NCSY, political action through the IPA, and advocacy for persons with disabilities through Yachad and Our Way. JING LAS VEGAS PLANS TO REOPEN ON FRIDAY, JUNE 26 WITH HEIGHTENED SAFETY AND SANITIZATION PROTOCOLS

The Downtown Summerlin® Eatery Has Enlisted A Full-Time Medical Consultant To Assist In Updating COVID-19 Procedures

Jing Las Vegas located at Downtown Summerlin® is reopening its doors on Friday, June 26 after voluntarily closing down as a result of multiple positive COVID-19 cases among staff. The restaurant has taken the necessary precautions to provide peace of mind to their patrons at the time of reopening, including the implementation of new COVID-19 procedures and mandated testing required for all staff. The restaurant has also enlisted a full-time medical consultant to assist with retraining and re-opening procedures, and to help navigate the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic moving forward.

“Our main goal is to create a safe environment with zero transmission of the COVID-19 virus,” said Dr. Eugene Shin, Jing’s in-house medical consultant, when asked about the restaurant’s plan to stop the spread. “While this is a lofty goal, it is possible when synergy is achieved between the back of house and front of house teams, along with the cooperation of the restaurant’s patrons.”

Updated COVID-19 procedures at the restaurant include:

  • Implementing additional signage to ensure social distancing is practiced
  • Spacing out tables and chairs even further
  • Requiring masks upon arrival (complimentary, disposable masks provided)
  • Requiring a digital temperature check for all staff and patrons upon arrival
  • Installing additional hand sanitizer dispensers
  • Requiring the entire staff to undergo testing
  • Implementing a new “contact tracing” procedure for all staff
  • Implementing an additional deep surface cleaning scheduled concurrently with regular daily cleaning

In light of Governor Sisolak’s recent issuance of a mandated face mask policy in all public places in the state of Nevada, face coverings will be required by both staff and patrons at all times, aside from when guests are seated at their designated table.

Staff members will be allowed to return to work with proof of a negative COVID-19 test result. Any staff that receives a positive test result will be required to undergo a 14-day mandated quarantine period, followed by a negative test result before being allowed to return to work.

Reservations are highly suggested by calling 725-735-7172. The restaurant’s hours of operation are 3:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. daily, with daily happy hour offered from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
