Five Major Non-Profits Unite for Albertsons Sav-on’s CommUNITY Day of Sharing

Help Stuff a Truck on Saturday, October 20

Five of the largest non-profit organizations in Southern Nevada will join forces for an unprecedented valley wide donation drive event on Saturday, October 20, called Albertsons Sav-on’s CommUNITY Day of Sharing.

The inaugural Albertsons Sav-on’s CommUNITY Day of Sharing unites Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, Three Square Food Bank, United Way of Southern Nevada and Goodwill of Southern Nevada with the goal of impacting the lives of hundreds of thousands in our community who need help with shelter, food, employment or other basic needs.

“We know the good these organizations do in our community and we are proud to partner with each of them on a daily basis, be it donating food, money, supplies or space in our parking lots,” said Dan Sanders, Albertsons Southern California Division President, who oversees operations in Southern Nevada. “We hope this demonstration of unity will inspire the community to share with those who may need a little extra help.”

Each non-profit will challenge the community to “stuff a truck” with gently used clothing, home goods, non-perishable food items, new hygiene products like toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant, and paper products like toilet paper and paper towels.

HOW TO SHARE ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20

Donations will be collected at all Southern Nevada Albertsons locations from 9am to 4pm.

The Albertsons store at 4055 S. Durango Drive (Durango & Flamingo) will serve as the main event site from 11am to 3pm, featuring music, prizes, and a community BBQ.
