The “greatest two minutes in sports” turns into the greatest two days for horse racing fans at the Rampart Casino in Summerlin. Those who gallop over to the casino will experience all the excitement of the 148th annual Kentucky Derby.
Friday, May 6
Betting Seminar and Raffle inside Cascade: Get to know the ins and outs of horse race betting from veteran handicapper Bob Ike and Race & Sports Manager Duane Colucci during a complimentary seminar. Those interested may place their Kentucky Derby selections at the event and those holding a Rampart Rewards player’s card will be entered into a raffle to be held following the seminar.
Saturday, May 7
$1,000 Kentucky Derby Hat Contest and Race Day Specials: In true Derby fashion, Rampart Casino is inviting guests to pull out their over-the-top and fabulous hats on race day for a chance to win a portion of the $1,000 prize pool in free slot play. Participants can enter the contest at the Casino Valet area between 1-3 p.m. with the winner selected following the race.
Diners can enjoy a $21.99 three-course Kentucky Derby special menu inside Earl Grey Café from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. which includes a Watermelon Salad with feta cheese, red onion, white balsamic mint dressing; the Kentucky Burgoo Stew served in a sourdough bowl; and Chess Pie for dessert with bourbon caramel and marshmallow whip.
Those who place a derby wager for $50 or more prior to the race will receive their choice of a coupon to Clubhouse Deli for their choice of free chicken fingers, hamburger, or hot dog, and fries, or they can choose a $5 off coupon for Market Place Buffet.
Additionally, all casino bars will feature $5 Mint Juleps, Louisiana Lemonades, and Derby Mules to keep racing fans refreshed throughout the entire day.
