GIRLS ON THE RUN LAS VEGAS FALL SEASON LAUNCHES THIS WEEK, REGISTRATION REMAINS OPEN UNTIL OCT. 1
Fall 2021 program available at nearly 30 participating sites.
Program Open to Girls Grades 3 through 8;
Fall 5K Takes Place Dec. 4 at UNLV.
The Girls on the Run Las Vegas’ (GOTR) fall season launches this week and registration remains open until Oct. 1. Girls in grades 3 through 8 can register for the program through 26 participating teams. For girls who attend a school that does not currently have its own GOTR team, participants can sign-up at www.GirlsontheRunLV.org/our-locations for any of the four open sites that meet at parks or recreation centers located in the North, East, South and West areas of the valley. Each site has a minimum of eight and a maximum of 24 girls.
For the first time, more than 1000 girls across the Las Vegas valley will participate in the GOTR program which delivers a season-long, experienced-based curriculum designed to develop confidence, friendship, strength and emotional and spiritual health in young girls—all while integrating running. Participants meet twice a week after school for 90 minutes to learn life skills, make friends and get fit.
Program dates and times vary per school. Registration fees include 20 90-minute lessons conducted by uniformly-trained GOTR coaches, the evidence-based curriculum provided by Girls on the Run International, a program t-shirt, water bottle, end-of-season celebration party, and entry for the end-of-season 5K, where GOTR participants come together to celebrate girl power.
The program costs $175 for a ten-week season. Teams will participate in the 5K Community Celebration on December 4th at UNLV. Prices go down based on household income to accommodate girls who cannot afford the full tuition price, and no girl will ever be turned away for inability to pay registration fees.
