Inspiring Sunflower Run on Mother’s Day – Featuring $25K Blind connect Donation & Visually-Impaired Athletes

Annual Mother’s Day Bee-utiful Sunflower Run Returns to Gilcrease Orchard
Ed Robichaud Named Race Starter and $25,000 Donation to Las Vegas Blindconnect

Beyond Limits Running today announced Ed Robichaud has been named the Honorary Race Starter for the annual Mother’s Day Bee-utiful Sunflower Run. A field of 1,000 will join Ed on Mother’s Day as they run or leisurely walking a 5K, 10K or 1-Mile Sunflower Fairy Walk through Vegas' iconic Gilcrease Orchard, just as their sunflower fields hit full bloom at the 4th Annual Bee-utiful Sunflower Run on May 11, 2025.

Stephanie and Ken Rubeli, Co-Founders and Co-Owners of Beyond Limits Running stated, “Mark Sippings once said about sunflowers, ‘They’re in bloom because they’ve found where they belong.’ Not only does Ed push beyond limits in his quest to always chase the beautiful rays of sunshine, just like the sunflower, he has inspired a massively growing community of visually-impaired athletes and sighted guides to join the Las Vegas Chapter of Achilles International on group walks/runs every week. We can’t wait to watch over 40 folks from the chapter enjoy the beauty of Gilcrease Orchard, especially the 6 audio spots on the course which communicate the beauty of the fields in spoken words written by Ed.”

Ed Robichaud stated, “Facing physical challenges head on has become a source of empowerment for me. I’m honored to be this year’s Sunflower Race Starter and look forward to leading a team of 20 visually-impaired local Achilles athletes and their guides through the beautiful sunflower fields.”

In Ed’s honor, Beyond Limits Running and the Rubeli Family Foundation is donating $25,000 to Blindconnect, a Las-Vegas non-profit. Established in 1998, Blindconnect’s mission is to promote independence among blind and low vision adults through training and peer support. Learn more at www.Blindconnect.org.
