Maverick Helicopters Awarded FAA Diamond Award of Excellencefor Ninth Consecutive Year
Maverick Helicopters has received the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) 2019 Diamond Award of Excellence. The prestigious honor is a result of Maverick’s continuous dedication to maintenance training and aircraft safety. This is Maverick Helicopters ninth consecutive Diamond Award.
“Safety is our top priority,” said John Buch, president of Maverick Aviation Group. “Receiving one of the FAA’s highest honors, the Diamond Award of Excellence, is evidence of our dedication to safety and the growth of our employees.”
The FAA’s Diamond Award of Excellence is the highest level of recognition within the William (Bill) O’Brien Awards Program. The FAA recognizes eligible aviation employees and employers by issuing awards to those who receive initial and recurrent training. Prior to qualification, all eligible aircraft maintenance technicians at Maverick Helicopters sustained training in various subjects including quality control, aviation safety, mathematics, human factors, and extended technical knowledge.
In 2019, Maverick Helicopters’ dedicated maintenance teams recorded over 1,700 hours of training. 100 percent of the eligible technicians received individual awards through in-house and factory training. Maverick Helicopters’ dedication to training is highlighted in their required three-week training course for all new hires, outside of the manufacturer and FAA requirements, to ensure industry safety standards are upheld and surpassed.
