2014 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS
The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena Sunday, May 18 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/delayed PT. The Billboard Music Awards honor the year’s most successful artists in 40 categories, based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music. The 2014 Milestone Award presented by Chevrolet, will be given to an innovative artist who has achieved a notable chart milestone over the past year. UFC 173: RENAN BARAO VS. TJ DILLASHAW
UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao (34-1, 1 NC) will look to stake his claim as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world when he meets the explosive and dangerous TJ Dillashaw (10-2) Saturday, May 24 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Barao has amassed an unprecedented 35-fight unbeaten streak, including victories over championship contenders Urijah Faber (twice), Michael McDonald and Eddie Wineland. The one and only Cher will bring her 49-city North American tour, Dressed To Kill, to the MGM Grand Garden Arena Sunday, May 25. Cher’s previous tour, The Farewell Tour, later dubbed “The Never Can Say Goodbye Tour,” was one of the most successful tours ever by a solo artist. Cher played a record-breaking 325 dates in front of more than
5.5 million fans. GRAMMY, Emmy and Tony Award-winning artist Cyndi Lauper will join Cher on tour.

Billy Joel will return to Las Vegas for one night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, June 7. The performance marks his first solo headlining appearance at MGM Grand since 2009. The singer/songwriter/composer is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all-time and the third best-selling solo artist, having sold more than 150 million albums worldwide. CANELO ALVAREZ VS. ERISLANDY LARA
The two best junior middleweights in the world will meet to decide 154-pound supremacy Saturday, July 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez (43-1-1, 31 KOs) will square off against WBA Junior Middleweight World Champion Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (19-1-2, 12 KOs) in a 12-round bout. A former world champion and still only 23 years old, Canelo has captivated fans worldwide with his exciting fighting style and charisma in and out of the ring. In his most recent bout, Lara won a 12-round unanimous decision over Austin Trout in December 2013, and now the 31-year-old will attempt to give Canelo a boxing lesson. Justin Timberlake will bring The 20/20 Experience World Tour, his first tour in six years, back to the MGM Grand Garden Arena Friday, Aug. 8 and Friday, Nov. 28. In March 2013, the GRAMMY and Emmy Award-winning artist released The 20/20 Experience Part 1 of 2 which was certified double platinum in the U.S. and earned Timberlake the biggest first week sales for a male artist in five years. Roberto Carlos, an icon of Latin American romance and the King of Latin pop, will bring his Projeto Emocoes (“Emotions Project”) show to the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, Sept. 6 for a one-night spectacular. International superstar Katy Perry will visit the MGM Grand Garden Arena Friday, Sept. 26 for her highly anticipated PRISMATIC WORLD TOUR, in support of PRISM. The new album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and remains in the Top 10 three months after its release. The platinum album has given Perry the biggest single of her career with “Roar,” while “Dark Horse” recently became her 13th Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The popular worldwide phenomenon is available at MGM Grand in the hometown of the original top-rated “CSI” television series – Las Vegas. A challenging and fun multi-sensory attraction, CSI: The Experience places guests in the role of crime scene investigator as they solve one of three true-to-life mysteries.
