The UNLV men’s basketball program received signed commitments from Edoardo Del Cadia, Caleb Grill and Devin Tillis on the first day of the regular signing period, head coach T.J. Otzelberger announced Thursday morning.

Del Cadia, originally from Senigallia, Italy, is a 6-foot-7-inch 225-pound forward who attends the College of Central Florida in Ocala, Florida. He averaged 13.2 points and 9.1 rebounds at the school this past season, while making 48.3 percent of his shots from the field and 37.7 percent from 3-point range. He recorded 12 double-doubles in 27 games played and connected on over 81 percent of his free-throw attempts. The Patriots finished the season with a 25-7 overall record during the 2019-20 campaign.

Del Cadia, who will be a junior during the 2020-21 season at UNLV, attended high school at Myerscough College in Preston, England.

“Edoardo’s greatest talent is how hard he plays every possession,” Otzelberger said. “He is an elite rebounder that finishes well with both hands attacking the basket. Offensively, he is skilled with the dribble, pass and can knock down the 3-point shot.”

Grill, a 6-foot-3-inch 195-pound guard from Maize, Kansas, is coming to UNLV by way of Iowa State. The transfer will be a sophomore in 2020-21 at UNLV. As a freshman last year with the Cyclones, Grill played in 29 games. He started the season’s final two games and recorded season highs of nine points and eight rebounds against Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Tournament.

At Maize High School, in addition to basketball, Grill starred in football, track and field and baseball. He averaged 18.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists on the hardwood his senior season, earning all-state honors from the Kansas City Star. He shot 48 percent from the floor and 35 percent behind the arc, leading his team to a 24-1 record and a state runner-up finish in 2019. He completed his high school career with 1,178 points scored and more than 160 3-pointers made.

“Caleb competes in everything he does,” Otzelberger said. “He is an exceptional passer who takes pride in making the right play. His athleticism and 3-point shooting prowess are terrific. Defensively, he has proven the ability to be a stopper.”

Tillis, a 6-foot-6-inch 210-pound forward from Los Angeles, California, attends Windward High School. He earned All-CIF honors as a junior and senior, was a first-team all-league selection as a junior and senior and earned honorable mention as a freshman. His senior year he averaged 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists per game, while shooting 43 percent from 3-point range.

Tills led the Wildcats to the Division I CIF Southern Section Championship and a 28-8 record this season, scoring 27 points against Sierra Canyon High School in early March and 19 in a win over Fairfax High School during the playoffs. He was a part of 95 total wins during his high school career.

“Devin has an extremely high basketball IQ and great feel for the game,” Otzelberger said. “His teams win and he has the versatility to bring whatever is needed on either side of the ball. He is an elite passer, shooter and facilitates offense well.”

The trio joins Nick Blake, Reece Brown, Nick Fleming, Isaac Lindsey, Jhaylon Martinez and Donavan Yap to make up the Runnin’ Rebels’ 2020 recruiting class, which has been ranked No. 1 in the Mountain West.
