SIX REBELS EARN ALL-MW OUTDOOR TEAM RECOGNITION
UNLV’s Kennedi Porter was named the 2025 Mountain West Women’s Track Performer of the Meet.
The UNLV track & field team had six student-athletes named a total of eight times to the 2025 Mountain West Outdoor All-Conference Team.
All-MW honors are awarded to the top-three finishers in each event from the Conference championships, which were held May 15-17 at Veterans Memorial stadium in Clovis, California.
Kennedi Porter earned All-MW recognition three times in the 100-meter and 200-meter golds for the second consecutive year and helped the Rebels’ 4×100-meter relay team win gold as well.
Jaydea Carter, AnnaKay Maitland and Chineyre Okoro joined Porter in the gold-medal winning 4x100m relay squad, while Grace Cunningham (high jump, 3rd) and Natalia Ruiz (10,000m, 3rd) rounded out UNLV’s contingent of honorees.
NATIONALLY SPEAKING: Porter now ranks in the top 40 of a pair of events in the NCAA after Saturday’s competition. The Rancho Cucamonga, California native is 32nd nationally in the 200m (22.95) and 36th in the 100m (11.24).
REPEAT PERFORMERS: Three of the six Rebel student-athletes that were named to the All-MW Outdoor Team claimed All-MW Indoor Team status in February. Porter was also a two-time honoree (60m and 200m), while Carter (4x400m Relay) and Cunningham (high jump) all each claimed honors.
REBEL NOTES:
– Ruiz ran the fastest 10,000m time (34.30.72) in UNLV program history en route to a bronze medal finish.
– Porter’s 100m gold medal winning time (11.24) was the fourth-fastest in UNLV program history, while her 200m gold medal performance (22.95) was the fifth-fastest time in UNLV history.
NEXT TIME OUT: The Rebels will send some of their student-athletes to the NCAA West Preliminary next week (May 28-31); however, the team will have to wait until the NCAA announces regional qualifiers tomorrow, May 22.
