The Laugh Factory Las Vegas Presents:

Harry Basil, Andrew Norelli and Lester Barrie

The legendary Laugh Factory Las Vegas at the New Tropicana Las Vegas is proud to introduce this week’s impressive comedy lineup. Harry Basil, Andrew Norelli and Lester Barrie will be taking the stage April 23-29.

The comedy showroom features different marquee acts each week, hosting the hottest comedians in the business, from established stand-up superstars to the young rising stars of tomorrow. Laugh Factory Las Vegas shows are performed daily at 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $29 (plus applicable taxes) or $44.95 (plus applicable taxes) for VIP tickets. Special two-for-one tickets are also available for locals and Tropicana Las Vegas hotel guests for both 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. shows.

Harry Basil’s extraordinary skill at bringing the big screen to life on stage has had audiences rolling in the aisles for decades. Basil, a renowned impressionist and prop comic, takes the crowd on a wild romp through current and classic movies, with a trunk of outrageous props and costumes that could fill a soundstage. Films Basil has spoofed include “Jaws,” “Titanic,” “Forrest Gump,” “Star Wars,” and the entire nine hours of “The Godfather” saga.

A true movie buff, Basil does not just imitate the pictures, he helps create them. He co-wrote and produced three of Rodney Dangerfield’s movies, “Ladybugs,” “Meet Wally Sparks,” and “My Five Wives.” Basil made his feature directing debut with “The 4th Tenor,” followed by “Back by Midnight,” and a string of cult-favorite horror films. Basil just wrapped shooting the sex comedy “Sleeping Around,” starring fellow comedians Michael McKean, Bill Bellamy, Bryan Callen of “The Hangover” and Wendi McLendon-Covey from “Bridesmaids.” As an actor, he can be seen in “Peggy Sue Got Married,” “The Seventh Sign,” and on television specials on Comedy Central, MTV, Showtime and HBO.

Basil was Rodney Dangerfield’s exclusive opening act for 17 years. He has also opened for superstars such as Liza Minnelli, the Pointer Sisters, The Beach Boys, Gloria Estefan, Chuck Berry, Julio Iglesias, and Jersey Boy, Frankie Valli.

Andrew Norelli uses comedy to navigate his way through confusion and dismay. Whatever happens to him in life, he brings to the stage and lets the crowd in on his frustration and excitement. Credits include “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Live at Gotham” on Comedy Central, “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” and the nationally syndicated show “Comics Unleashed,” where he also worked as a monologue joke writer. Norelli performs “comedy for people who like comedy” and was the first winner of the annual Las Vegas World Series of Comedy.

Lester Barrie shows that comedy can be hip, funny and edgy without profanity; not even a slip. Most recently, Barrie appeared on Martin Lawrence’s “1st Amendment Stand Up” on Starz. Additionally, he has performed at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and was a semifinalist on Ed McMahon’s “Star Search.” His television credits include the sci-fi classic “Sliders,” “NYPD Blue,” and “In the House with LL Cool J.” Barrie’s most notable movie role was the preacher in “Don’t be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood,” the cult classic starring Shawn and Marlon Wayans.
